I see a lot of people say Siddiq dying means Carl died for nothing but I disagree. Carl's death is what made Rick believe in his vision of the united communities, if it wasn't for that, they wouldn't be as strong as they are now. Negan would be dead, Siddiq wouldn't have had Coco, Carl's death was about so much more than just Siddiq
I have been waiting for Steve's reaction to Negan and Alpha sence and Steve's reaction did not disappoint.
I love Connie so much, she is easily one of my fav characters the walking dead has ever had
I'll do it then. It's Carol's fault. She ran after Alpha, and everyone was gonna run after her to make sure everything was fine. Being stuck in the cave, Jerry almost died, and I almost lost my shit. I'd have to rewatch the end to see the blast, but that wouldn't have happened had she not ran into the cave. She put everyone in danger, I can't respect that.
But.... she has saved everybody in the group from being canabalized back in terminus so one slip up like this don’t make me hate her as long as she doesn’t keep consistently doing stupid shit that kills people

Damion Richter, then I hope you also blame Rick for everyone who died in the Savior war, for his decision to attack the satellite outpost. I hope you specifically blame Daryl for Glenn’s death, Rosita for Olivia and Sasha’s deaths, and Maggie for Rick’s “death”, since her actions led to the majority of occurrences in the first 5 episodes of season 9. Of you blame Carol and lack respect for her reasons on these last two episodes, then you absolutely must also blame each of those characters for what happened each of those times. If not, you’re just hating on Carol for the same kind of decisions because she’s old and a woman.

I agree with Lacey about Carl's legacy. For us it's only two seasons from Carl's death to Siddiq's. But for the characters, it's been more than 8 years. People says Carl's death was for nothing when Siddiq die but i don't agree at all with that.

It's just people want characters to stay for seasons but they forget some shows so time jumps and the time jump was 9 years. Funny enough, for a time jump for 9 years in season 9 when siddiq speech united everyone in the second to last episode of season 9. Siddiq did a lot for Carl as a doctor to save people with Enid. I wonder if he became a doctor with Enid BECAUSE Enid was Carl's girlfriend before he died.

As someone who has Claustrophobia... I literally was just having anxiety for an hour watching this episode XD
It’s interesting to see Daryl and Carol’s dynamic so off balance right now, this is the biggest conflict we’ve seen between these two. Daryl was HEATED there at the end about what happened to Connie and Magna, couldn’t even say anything to her and just pointed.
Also, Kelly, Jerry, and Aaron were MVP’s this episode! And Negan sure did make an...interesting choice to “canoodle” with Alpha (especially after she literally just used the bathroom in the woods).

The whole claustrophobia thing with Carol is something Daryl remembered from all the way back in the season 1 finale! When they were in the CDC’s elevator she quickly mentioned how she was claustrophic.

Old dynamite (TNT) explodes when handled because the nitroglycerin has sweated out of the stick, and nitroglycerin in this state is very shock-sensitive. It's dangerous to handle because the nitroglycerin likely has separated from the stabilizer medium. Took this from an internet article. When Carol dropped the dynamite it exploded, causing the cave to start crumbling. If she had done what she had promised to Daryl, then they all would have made it out of the cave. So, yes this is Carol's fault and she knows it. Now don't get me wrong, I love Carol...I love her relationship with Daryl, so I hope that Connie and Magna come out all right. People make mistakes on this show, they are portrayed as human, and we can forgive them. After all Daryl should know how reckless behavior can get a loved one killed. The only difference is that Carol had been warned several times by Daryl. She should have listened, even though I know how hurt she is at losing her son. I feel bad for her, but...please bring back the Carol we so love and admire.

They actually covered it in the show when Rick and crew were coming back from the Kingdom for the first time and found the dynamite across the highway for the Walkers that Rick and Michonne took out a bunch of pdq with the cars and cable, Rosita explained it when she told them how to unhook them and the pack she said she did not like the look of blew up after they were in the vehicle leaving, 👍😁

I mean, Daryl called her out on her shit and she still kept pushing it to the point that Connie and Magna could be dead from the cave-in. Seeing Daryl cry for Connie and cry out of frustration for Carol, it really saddened me. I like seeing Daryl happy and seeing his friendship with Carol on shaky ground is hard man. Hopefully Connie and Magna are okay. And if Connie makes it, Daryl needs to get the girl asap. We all saw how heartbroken he was for Connie. The dude shed tears. Anyways, later guys. Stay safe ✌

It’s a chaotic moment so you guys probably missed it. When carol was on the edge about to fall and die she reached for a dynamite stick and accidentally dropped it down into the hoard which shook the cave and caused it to collapse. THEN as the cave was collapsing two whisperers decided to attack magna and Connie from behind separating them from the group. There was a bag of dynamite on the ground and when the cave collapsed it hit the dynamite which caused the explosion.
It was nice Carol's claustrophobia comment from 1x06 finally came into play 9 seasons later

This was such a good episode when it aired. My heart always breaks for Darryl when he’s trying to move the debris and asks Aaron to help him.
The Carol scream made me laugh, it was so over the top. I remember when American Mum was reacting to The Haunting of Hill House and at one point she was so startled that she threw one of those squeezy baseballs 😄
I kinda agree. They couldn’t air it this way but if she screamed a big long “F you!” it could have been better.

Leaving this before watching the full video based on the opening comments on Siddiq’s legacy and whether his death invalidate’s Carl’s sacrifice, and you don’t even have to point to Coco’s existence for an example. If Carl had not saved Siddiq, nobody would have been able to save Negan from bleeding to death, which means Judith later dies in the storm and Lydia is beaten to death by those punks because he’s not there to save them. Siddiq also would not have been able to train Enid in medical procedures, so she would not have known that she needed to amputate Aaron’s arm and cauterize it to stop the bleeding, so Aaron dies, he and Jesus are not out doing their “training”, so they don’t find Rosita or later find Eugene, so they both die, and nobody gets forewarned about the Whisperers. So many things are undone without Carl’s sacrifice for Siddiq, so while he did not last long as far as episodes, his presence has effects that are still taking place.

I don't understand the whole "legacy" thing. Why does somebody's legacy have to be attached to another character? The entire nature of this show is that many characters are going to die in various ways. Why does it have to have some profound long lasting meaning to it?
Some folks are sentimental that way. I never understood why myself, but I found that holding on to someone's will(like Carl's) is reckless and senseless.
Jerry's wife was actually the first muslim character. Carol's lust for revenge is now possibly getting others killed. She needs to get her head right very soon.

Sadiqq dying doesn't mean Carl's death means nothing. He lived an additional like 10 years as a doctor saving people's lives, so it definitely wasn't for nothing
Agreed; plus Carl lives on through Judith, Michonne, Carol, Ezekiel, Gabe, Aaron, pretty much everyone that knew him. No matter how small the impact, Carl had an impact on all those people. The ripples he left will be going out to shore for very long time

Imagine the performance anxiety Negan had in that moment. It`s been 10 years with this show but I still have moments where I find myself literally out of my seat with the tension & surprise. It never gets boring.
Carol always a favourite character her anger and rage for revenge got everyone in this trap but this was the turning point I love this second half of the season you were correct about Carol Lacey. I'm also afraid you are running out of episode's to watch only 6 more and then the season finale on October 4th
By the end of this ep, (some)fans were wanting Carol to die because of her reckless behavior!
Well people needs to understand that Carol is family and we don't hate a family member who has mental issues. She has saved our groups asses on many occasions. How people forget. I frankly only blame Alpha for all of this. Can't imagine how I would cope if I saw my sons head on a pike. No one will be able to stop me for killing the person. Carol has been through more trauma then anyone. Let's give her some slack

Lol, love you guys reaction to the Negan/Alpha “squish” scene. There were many over dramatic articles and reactions the day after this first aired. You should look up a reaction compilation of it for a good laugh.

In this episode there was a little call back to the finale of the first season. Carols claustrophobia was the first and only issue there. This is mentioned again here. So for everyone who wonders why she suddenly suffers from claustrophobia, you should watch the last episode of the first season again. Then Dr Kenner asked if anyone had problems with confined spaces. Carol answered yes and Daryl made a note of that. So he's also a very attentive listener.

Friends wanted me to go caving once, and I said, "HELL, NAW!" And seeing this episode in the cave is one of my ultimate fears. Speaking of seeing, Negan and Alpha, that's something you can't unsee!

So maybe I misread the way you reacted to it, but I feel like you guys missed the fact that Carol set the dynamite that caused the explosions and the collapse that trapped Magna and Connie at the end. You mentioned in the discussion about her blaming herself for leading everyone in there, but not the dynamite, and you seemed confused when the cave-in started. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just wanted to make sure you caught that.

While badass Carol is beloved, her mannerism and vulnerability in this episode really show that people don’t change, and makes her character feel so real.

With Siddiq, it seems a short time for us, but in actuality, he has been with the group for around 7 years now. He has bought Coco into this world with Rosita. He also most likely helped deliver RJ and Baby Hershel as well. He has also been the doctor for Alexandria since joining, helping any sickness or injuries. He also taught Enid everything she knew, so she could go on being the doctor at Hilltop for 6 years. It's sad he died as I really enjoyed his character, but I wouldn't say Carl died for nothing. Siddiq left a big impact on all the communities.
Very intense and emotion episode. Carol and Daryl moments are always special to me. Their talk in the cave was amazing. I just wish Carol was able to see through her rage and sorrow to take it in more. My heart broke after the explosion. Daryl didn't say a word but I heard every emotion he is feeling. Carol wanting Daryl to express hatred and disgust toward her was heartwrenching. Great episode and great reaction as always. Love you guys. Cant wait till Friday!🥰 have a great week! It was interesting to see how this rollercoaster of emotions this episode was. From now on forth, it's obvious the rest of the season would be intense with the group leaving Alpha's trap. Thank you Lacey, for pointing out that there was a big time difference between when Carl died and when Siddiq died. While the character didn't last many seasons, he did last quite some time within the community.
"Sweaty" dynamite is dynamite that the nitroglycerin (a highly volatile and easily detonated explosive) has seeped to the outside of the dynamite and pooled or crystalized. The concept being it can be detonated potentially by simple impact, no fuse or fire needed. Although largely disproven, it remains a very common element in fiction and has pervaded Hollywood since the days of the westerns. It was possible for dynamite to become unstable, but historical accounts of sweaty dynamite causing injuries or fatalities is difficult to come across, if such accounts exist.
Now the proper, post-video comments. Ten years of this show giving us rotting corpses and splattered brains, and the most disgusting thing ever shown on it is Negan and Alpha getting naked and banging each other.
Daryl does not like Connie any more than any other character. It is a misconception by certain parts of the fanbase, which AK didn’t even intend from the events of season 9, that there is something between Daryl and Connie. Connie likes Daryl, and Daryl knows that, but he only sees her as another, neat friend. He even told Carol when she suggested it that it wasn’t like that. His mad dash to save her and Magna is more his usual behavior of helping his friends and not letting this stain Carol’s soul if they should end up dying because of her.

No, he doesn’t and no, he wasn’t. Daryl would not be “shy” and evasive about his feelings with Carol, he would ask for her advise or input. The Daryl/Connie thing was made up by fans after seeing the episode Guardians, and while Angela Kang has played with it a bit because it keeps some fan interest, there is no indication that its real. Connie likes Daryl, yes, it he does not like her as more than a friend. He didn’t smile like crazy for Connie getting off of a boat or offer to just ride out to New Mexico with Connie, did he? Plus, AK and Norman Reedus have said Daryl had to know someone a long time before he would have such feelings for them, and he’s only been around Connie for a total of 8 episodes, maxing out to a grand total of no more than 10 days in-universe. There is nothing there beyond friendship for him. You are seeing what you want to see.
No, the chemistry is not real. It is real in one direction only, from Connie toward Daryl. This is the same non-existent “chemistry” the people have seen between Daryl and other characters that the fanbase wanted to see him with, including Beth, Aaron, Jesus, Rosita and Cindy. It was not there with them, it’s not there with Connie. You are seeing what you want to see.
To clarify my above statement, I did not mean that Daryl has only known Connie 10 days, but that he’s only had a total of 10 days that he’s spent in her company when totaling the episodes that they’ve been onscreen together.

Also back then after carol lost Sophia it actually turned her into a badass and made her so tough after losing her own kid and really changed how she was with always getting so upset . But for so long she was used to losing close ones she started caring about after losing one of her own . But now carols finally lost it again I think 😢
Yeah can't blame her tbh. She been through a lot of shit, first Sophia, then Mika, and Lizzie, then she kinda distanced herself from any children attachment for a while, which is why she was so cruel toward that kid who died at season 6 episode 9 when he got eaten (forgot his name) but then she started to care about Henry and treated him as her child and then baaaam head in pike....

I didn't realize I have claustrophobia until I watched this episode, nasty on Alpha pushing Negan in the man made toilet and them having sex 🤢🤢🤮🤮 I still can't get the image of them doing it out of my head, I love Carol she has been one of my favorite characters since season 1, but her actions lately have made me dislike her, we understand the wanting revenge on Alpha, but her not thinking about others is ridiculous, she's not thinking straight, and now oh no Connie and Magna 😱😱🤯🤯😥😥, she can apologize a lot but it doesn't change that this is basically her fault, thanks Lacey for pointing that out.
