Thanks Joe! Very mature video - sounds old, but I mean you’ve put these together for a reason, not about thrashing the pants of the road, and cautious about your surroundings. And supporting the local communities around them. Nice. Thanks!
Unfortunately Joe, my experience of driving in the UK is not enjoyable, ruined by terrible road surfaces, cameras everywhere and an over populated island. Driving in Europe however is a much better enjoyable experience, perhaps the our government could learn something and stop bashing the motorists. However I do enjoy your videos , keep up the good work 👍
Totally agree with you. I’m actually planning a drive with friends. But UK driving is not the best, even as can be seen here. Loads of limits that seem unnecessary, note this are winter months, imagine what it will be like in summer with the added speed limits. It’s painful if I’m honest compared to my experience driving Mediterranean Europe.
@@paarker If more people are encouraged to drive, all that will happen is more people doing 10-20mph below the speed limit everywhere, and more congestion, and driving will be even worse.
Just want to echo Joe's wise words - take it easy in the 30 and 40 limits folks. I live in Great Chishill. The top of the village has the entrance to a kids nursery and playing fields, but the approach to it has no pavement meaning pedestrians are forced to walk in the road prior to crossing the road. The road out of Chishill is great fun, but has really suffered over the winter with plenty of deep potholes. Sometimes the repairs don't last more than a few weeks. The Pheasant in Great Chishill is also a great stop for food.
I can see that there is so much effort in your videos...The shots, the cuts, the audio...And beyond all this, an immense passion. I hope I can buy an M3 Competition xdrive one day because after watching your videos it has literally become a dream. Greetings from Italy!
B4494 is absolutely amazing! Discovered it here so thank you Joe, took my FK8 at the weekend both Saturday and Sunday and stopped off at podium place both times too. The drive there and back is simply stunning
@@JoeAchilles1 One year on and this video popped up on my feed again. I forgot about these routes but had a day off today and committed to doing your first route followed by the Roastery. What a blast! Great road, no traffic at 11:00am - had a blast. As you rightly said, you're not at the speed limit much (if at all) but it's all about the flow between the turns. Really enjoyed it - if you ever do another video similar to this, it'll be a must watch from me. Cheers!
My personal favourite joe is tge a286 from just off the a3 past Guilford going down to Haslemere, then on to Midhurst. grear section of road.then from Midhurst follow signs to Petersfield then on to alton. then Basingstoke, great 50 mile stretch off a and b roads.with twists turns and long straights. epic video.❤
One of my favorite things to do. In Annapolis Maryland there aren't many roads like that but I love doing this. I had a Civic Si a few years ago where I found an amazing back road. The car was not fast so it was great to push on safely. This video seems simple but I *like it a lot* very good
Thank you for making this video. Seeing some of your favourite roads, where you road test and film. Ill be going to drive down them particularly road 2 in this video . very interesting
Love it Joe! These roads are real local to me done the one near saffron Walden not long ago! This explains why I saw you in Royston that time with the m2cs
Great content mate and a responsible message in coveying its true to say you dont have to go at licence breaking speed to really enjoy a nice car if the road is decent.
When you organised your meet up at Bicester to go to Caffeine Machine last year, I arranged to meet up with some others in Banbury. I told them I knew of a better road than the motorway and took them this way. Can also use it to go up to CM from Bicester too!
Thanks so much for this - this is a great video and been looking for something like this for a while, can’t wait to take out my G80 M3 on these roads now!
love it! I've got so many favourite roads in the Bavarian Forest where I always go back to. could drive them blindfolded. great to see some of your favourite roads.. also if feels a bit like a back to the roots kind of video. I've always loved those driving scenes in your m135i
Try these roads when you get your motorbike Joe. They're so much more rewarding on a bike. I come from a car background too (and still have my E46 m3), but once you get into bikes, the UK becomes much more fun again as traffic is not an issue and the roads are fun at all speeds.
Great video Joe, you should do more of these. Roads of Britain or something like that to take in Scotland and Wales….. bigger project perhaps but a good job as always. 👌🏼👏🏻
Just ordered 3 cans of GT85 using your link… came at the perfect time since I’ve put some new chrome tips on my M140i and they’re catching rust 3 days after a solid polish! Used the affiliate link, hopefully it’s good stuff and works! Great vid btw! 👍
Hey Joe! thank you for sharing driving routes!!!! i need more of them coz i am from South korea and living in London but finally decided to get a car now! Thanks!
Great video I have recently purchased an M440i and I live 15 mins away from Saffron Walden! Will definitely check out route 1 and grab a coffee at Hot Numbers!
B1039 one of my favourites - last week up the 1368 from Hare Street to Barley, then to Wendens Ambo, then back again. Haven't waited to see where you go next. Do come and visit next time you are in my area!
PS - I continue to the end of the road and turn at the Audley End station car park and Fighting Cocks pub. I once picked up a big fine because I stopped for a chat as I thought outside the car park, but apparently I was enough in the car park to be fined for being there for a few minutes without paying. Have now seen route 2 - know that one also, we like the same types of roads (no surprise there).
Lovely video, thanks for sharing with us one of your favorite roads. I've been a couple of times to the UK, but never to the countryside. Referring to the car, I can say it looks gorgeous and judging its look, I decided to change the upholstery from white to Silverstone, in the M3 Touring I wish to buy in the next 2 years if everything goes well. So, I keep my fingers crossed for me to become the owner of an M3, and for the growth of your channel as well. Cheers :)
Great video, always worth taking a visit to white horse hill if you are in wantage. Also the A338 south out of Wantage is a great road. And don’t forget the Falkland Arms in Great Tew, one of the loveliest pubs.
21:47 the amount of air you can 'theoretically' get in a 1.2 Clio on this bridge is amazing. Not that I've tried. Lots of good roads around Cold Ash which is 15 min from Newbury too.

Excellent. You stayed well clear of the South East of London, my favorite place to drive with lost of wooded area, even within the M25. Won't tell you where because I don't want it clogged with yobos. Sorry, but not sorry.
Try the Helmsley TT rout to Stokesley in North Yorkshire, a fantastic drive in both directions although it has taken the lives of to many motorcyclists. Take a turnoff at Chop Gate to the Lord Stones through some even more fantastic but narrower roads where you reach the top of the Cleveland hills
Beware, the 50 section off the Ridgeway towards Wantage is speed checked often. The cars are hidden behind the tanker in the first bends and the cameras “jump out”. Always watch out for cyclists and walkers too, especially at the crossing on the top. Great video 👍
Surprised you didn’t include the Cotswolds roads near Burford in Oxfordshire that you use so often. I’m local and mainly use those roads for cycling but they’re excellent driving roads too.
Hi Joe A very interesting and enjoyable video. Have you ever considered taking us for a cycle ride along these roads? As a cyclist I know it is a completely different experience altogether. Thanks.
Try that Route 2 but get off at Thame and go Long Crendon to Bicester mate. epic road , i have done on my Ducati and it is a quick run then over to Aynho
Beautiful! The best estate model one could own; if it only had the manual option... but question - do you always leave the rear windshield wiper on, or only during filming?
Thanks Joe. I noticed your cars outside to be very dirty in the video. Since your car is ceramic coated, would you mind to show in a video how easily the dirt washes off? I am interested in a ceramic coating myself and I am very interested in the real life practicality away from all the commercial promises. Thanks you so much. Kind regards from Germany.
