Such a beatufull vid, the same is happening to the NZ Kaimanawa horses. They are found only in the Kaimanawa mountains. Wild horses are just so gougous, it's horrible to think how much stress and harm we do to these majestic creatures
Thanks, Sandy, for the up close and personal view of Cloud's Herd. What you have recently filmed, might be our very last view of them as they should be.
Ancient Spanish blood running through those veins. Anyone familiar with Spanish horses knows they are the nobility of equines. One of these small, modest-appearing horses has the strength of 10, the courage of a lion, and the devotion to a master rivaling that of the best of dogs. So, of course our insane gubmint wants to murder them. What's new?
Read about these Pryor Mountain mustangs of ours, THE LAST GOOD HORSE by David Martin Anderson (novel was just released), then, you'll really understand the slaughter of these majestic creatures that took place during the 1930s.
How could anyone want to destroy those beautiful horses...and the land that belongs to them :/ this world is so screwed up ;'( It should all be left the heck alone!!
blm does not send them to slaughter. however, they languish in holding pens, sometimes for the rest of their lives. the lucky ones get released back to their herds or adopted, which is what i'm planning on doing within the next month or two. you can board your mustangs and it isn't that expensive. i found a place that has 24/7 herding in the pastures!
ancestralblue: just google the words "Madeleine Pickens" to find her website. The federal government, BLM and Interior Dept are haggling with Madeleine over her adoption of all the mustangs & burros currently in holding pens around the western states. There is a specific issue over costs to the BLM for adoption of the 33,000 if they are placed on private property. Land owners are paid each year to graze so many head of wild horses. Madeleine wants a lifetime guarantee of paymts.
My Mustang is from Pryor Mountain and is still wild BUT will let me ride her and she does what ever I want BUT doesn't with any one els. I guess NOW I know where her stubbornness comes from JUST look at these beautiful creatures. Cant believe people want to kill them just so they can get rich.
Check out author David Martin Anderson's interview on RUclips about his new book, THE LAST GOOD HORSE, if you want the REAL STORY of what happened to our mustang herds during the 1930s. All the action takes place at Montana's Pryor Mountain. Awesome!
What happened to the plan by Madeleine Perkins to resettle the BLM wild horses on other parcels of land that she herself proposed buying? At the last that I had seen, she had an extensive plan to save these horses. And what's the excuse this time to facilitate the slaughter market?
the blm just recently announced it will do a bait trap gather starting no sooner than june 4th and ending no later than sept 30th, to capture 2/3 of cloud's young horses! i'm going to visit and see if there's anything i can do to protect them!!
Hi I would like to know if it's possible to buy a colt Pryor Mountain mustang to keep on a ranch, and if so where I can go to find more information on purchasing one. Thank You
Since it seems like everyone in the comments are against the round ups, let me explain. The wild horses in the Pryors are overpopulated. The grass lands are overgrazed, leaving little grass which causes the horses to be unhealthy. These roundups are needed in order to conserve the Pryors natural environment which cannot be accomplished with too much grazing.
All wild mustangs are adopted through the Bureau of Land Management - you can access their page and see what they have available by goggling BLM wild horse adoptions ... good luck!
Beauty. Simple pure honesty beauty. I really don't understand how we could do such a thing to them.....

This all about mineral mining rights and cattle grazing rights. Greed, greed, greed, greed. Eventually, greed will destroy the earth completely.
that's just awful! here the older horses and unadoptable ones can be adopted with sometimes $500 incentives!

lol...that's funny! probably figured they want to be free too! what happened?
I THINK THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS VIDEO IS TO SHOW THE BEAUTY OF HORSES IN THE WILD. WHY DON'T YOU JUST LEAVE THEM THERE.
