    Most channels would never admit to any of this. Kudos to you for sharing this with the community. It could save many builders a lot of grief! Are there new parts that could cause similar interferences?

    Oil can leak from invisibly small gaps. A gap you can feel can turn into a major leak.

    Thanking for sharing. I’m smack dab in the middle of doing this. My bearing is sitting .015” proud.

      Does the box say made in Mexico?

    Torque up the case without the shaft and measure the bore of the bearing.

      Looks like its hitting on the outer diameter on the thrust surface not on the bearing radius

    If you have time to find NOS bearing, go for it. Otherwise, I would take some material from the outer edges of the bearing shell to allow it to sit down properly
