Forts are nice to visit if You're into abandoned places, history, architecture, etc. Indeed they might be dangerous: both walking outside and inside (on top there are smth like 30-40cm diameter holes for former ventilation, some has holes bombed through, etc,) better watch carefully your steps and indeed better not to do it at night if you don't know the area. I've visited almost all af them, both day and night, my favourite is Nr. 4 , it has several floors, which are easier to visit at winter (thick ice) since there are areas half flooded, but on other hand forts are the places where bats hibernate (sleep during winter), once woken they might not survive the winter, takes lots of energy for them to fall asleep again, females are pregnant during the winter also), they are protected by government, better not to visit at winter inside ( maximum silence ). Forts Nr. 1-3 are the same plan structure, other are diferent, Nr. VI, Nr IX - museums, VII - some educational facility/museum, VIII - flooded, from Xth - one from the second circle of the fortresess. There are hundreds of other city's as fortress buildings all over Kaunas. First fort was used as art instalation from the year 2022, when Kaunas was Europes' capital of culture (you still could see red marks, remains of that, on the ceilings (glimpse of it in this article, in lithuanian : www.checkinlithuania.com/lankytini-objektai/kauno-tvirtoves-i-as-fortas/ ), or other events (like performances as part of dance festivaal events, etc) . if you want visit forts at at night there are guided tours . by the way in 1st fort was at some time - death penalty in gas chamber took place . For visiting forts that are not museum`s best time is from late spring to early autumn , as there lives bats and we don`t want disturb them. Main risk going there a night is falling in holes . have a good time exploring :)
This is bullshit Lithuanians are scared of russian speaking population because they are coming from tougher background, so don't believe this bullshit. Belurusian guys come to Lithuania and speak to anybody russian and do anything they want all the Lithuanians are scared of them because they are scared living they comfortable life. So speak russian to anybody and dont listen. You can even see youtubers like bald and Bankrupt or Johnny FD coming to Lithuania and speaking russian every where nobody cares. ;)
wtf u talking about u dumb ass? In Lithuania, more than 145,000 people who speak Russian, what u just say it’s nacionalistic shit who it’s as same like nacistic, I from Kaunas I can speak Russian wherever I want.
also - yeah , at least one fort has traps like pitfalls that are actualy too deep to get out of on your own, this was not your smartest move going to one alone and in the dark without knowing anything lol
09:49 you could go to the left for hot coffee and pizza next to small supermarket. 5 min from that spot. It's not dangerous neighborhood or something. Not a Blackpool.
at nights shout loud its not very good idea ;) better try visit for yourself famous places or public places,at nights alone go in places like this 1 fort can be dangerous and you better dont risk :) its my city so its not to hard think where you can go and better avoid some places. forts its looks normal at day time, dont risk go alone at nights..these tunnels cam be weird
Hey.Why are you shouting "priviet" ?! It's russian word. But you are in Lithuania. So I suggest speak English and it will be much better received than shouting some russian words.
Hey, I was just thinking of speaking every kinda word I know to say hello just in case someone didn't speak English etc. I know a lot of people in Lithuania are used to hearing polish/Russian (and plus I don't know any lithuanian) so was just throwing out words to make myself known and plus It was more of a nervous thing because it was pitch pitch black haha
Dude what's your ethnicity? (Anybody knows?) You(he) look(s) very similar to my classmate, I no longer go to school, but I don't remember him much different.
I'm pretty sure those were just birds or other nature sounds. I hear them pretty often in Lithuania. This Lithuanian saying fits pretty well hear: Baimės akys didelės "Fears eyes are big", meaning anything is scary once you are afraid.
I dont even watch travel vlogs, but youtube kept pushing this to me and hey its my city! Absolutely hilarious to watch someone misunderstand most of the things :) instead of randomly walking about, just get yourself some local dude to explain stuff to you lol
hahah thanks man, yeah for things like this as I grow my channel I'll try and reach out to actual locals instead of just walking around like an idiot and getting spooked lmaoo
Not that I assumed anything, I just wanted to attempt to speak different languages just in case there was someone who didn't speak English, what if there was an older person who didn't understand English? Even if he hadn't a clue maybe he would be aware instead of just some random English words. That is funny though, I promise I don't associate them two!
😂😂😂 exploring the fort at night and randomly shouting Russian!! This video is bonkers and thoroughly entertaining. Learn a bit of Lithuanian if you go back. It'll be appreciated and is a great language!!
Oh@@ don’t try to speak Russian in Lithuania especially in regions where Russian is almost not spoken.. you could get kicked just for speaking that language :) Better English than Russian.
@ it was a sarcastic joke :) but you never know at night :) plus the guy is British and if he tries to speak russian to Lithuanians, the locals might get offended as russian is not our national language. Better to use English :)
@@kisutis even in sarcasm no one really feels like that when someone speaks Russian, if that's the language they know. Maybe only brain damaged people (half of commenters here)
lol they say bs about your russian words n all, which is nonsense, what u did was actually og, n no one gonna do anything to you anyway. but you got balls for going there alone at night Lol, theres nothing really to see tho. they all collapsed n all, best bets r the museums. but i dont know how recent ur vids r lol
These forts are safer than streets in London

It is actually a bit dangerous to go at night, because there are overflown holes and underwater sections. You can fall in and no one would come.
I dont know what the hell I saw in that room though? It looked like sticky blood on the can and all over the floor? What do you think?

I recommend visiting the 9th fort if you haven’t already, its more of an actual museum and is pretty interesting.
I go there in one of the next videos :))) was amazing!!
