I think Caleb's GTO being that way has to do with how he's a straight up menace unlike Eddie and his gang where they didn't do much. They posed a challenge too, making them good rivals. Caleb literally massacred the player's skyline. It was just the game's way of saying "finish him".
Considering I just played Underground 2, I have no clue how I never noticed the Wraiths had special cars. The Nissan 350Z you get to drive briefly, though, is more iconic to me than even the BMW M3 GTR (working on playing Most Wanted for the first time at the moment.) Never played Underground 1, but damn I like Kurt's RX7.

I love how much more energetic it got after the junk in underground, the Neon legit makes me nauseous with the limp dick. But I spent a long time fantasising about the Clk500. Such a shame the snake is just impossible to recreate. No limits also has bomb ass cars like a M4 with the legendary livery.

Looks wise, its highly subjective. But from a lore perspective, the M3 GTR should be one of the highest ranked cars in the series. Its not a regular sports car touched up with some aftermarket parts like most in the series. Its an actual non-street legal real-life race car built simply for the purpose of track racing. Looks-wise, its nice and clean, unlike the tribal flame puke splash paintjobs of most of the other cars. The only things missing are the sponsor decals that the real-life version would have on track. So if the M3 GTR is not an S-tier car for a series about "racing", most of the others do not deserve to be either.

imo all boss cars from Pro Street are an S. Overall, they gave so much love to the crew cars, even some other random AI liveries look great.
the Ming's Lamborghini Gallardo is one of the best car have a Full Upgrade and you can buy a nitro (Junkman too)
