Another great video. Nice to know everyone blanks n it's not just me! Really nice that all this stuff is just down the road from me. The heron was a great white egret had yellow beak n similar size to a heron ,, pretty rare up north,, take it its in lancashire area ,, great video again 👍
Another great video. I keep plugging away myself with a fair few blanks after pike at the moment too. Some amount of duckweed there needs clearing out to be able to fish it effectively.
Great video as usual mate. I'd groundbait a clear spot near those snags with defrosted chopped up sardines and whitebait, draw them out and deadbait with a float rod in hand and strike early to keep the fish out the snags. Looked helluva fishy there. I'd keep going back there cause it looks like it will hold a big girl in there, especially if its not a pressured water.
I spent most of the summer of 1989 fishing that stretch. There was some huge tench and grass carp with a resident huge pike in the basin where the egret was. I caught a pike next to that bridge which actually grabbed my waggler whilst tench fishing. There never was many fish in the duck weed basin itself. Sadly the otters took all the tench and grass carp.
That's a shame. My neighbour/friends dad actually caught one of the big grass carp at around 30lb a decade or two after that summer you fished it. It made the local papers, not heard of any showing up since though!
Nice fish that one in summer bro . Had me looking forward and missing the warmer weather at the same time haha ... I'd fish a weedless shad or a topwater frog for the fun in that muck
Thanks mate! Yeah i need to get my hands on a few more weedless lures maybe some softbaits. Frogs will work a treat when the weather warms up a bit for sure
@@adventurefishinguk yeh I'd try them even now bro you'll be surprised in shallow water like this they will take topwater when it's cold. I should have gave you a sakura bubble frog when you was here I wanted to long time ago this just reminded me

Hard to get scale on the bird George, but, almost certainly a Little Egret. A recent colonist to the UK but mainly in the South, so, a good sighting!

The Egret ,the Heron , the Robin and the Kingfisher, yes there's a lot more to fishing than just catching fish 😶🌫️
That’s called bird watching
Couldn't agree more, nothing quite like seeing the flash of a kingfisher!
Never heard of Robins fishing?
In the US the best trout streams have many bald eagle nests along them and watching them fish for the same fish as you is an experience.

Tie the end of a rake to a rope and throw it in and drag the weed out.
