Lovely relaxing video. Does anyone know why there’s that short section with no overhead catenary wire? Seems strange to use the more complex ground pickup for just a few hundred meters of track.
Hello, Bordeaux has chosen 2 collection modes for the tram, aerial by the LAC and on the ground by the APS rail. The latter for the city center which is more aesthetic, because there are no visible lines. But above all there are places where the tram passes, classified as historic monuments or classified as heritage sites, so no overhead lines are possible...then the tram lines were developed in adjoining cities (metropolis of Bordeaux) and certain cities wanted their end of lines on the ground... But as very expensive!! So little bits, sometimes for 1 station.... Maybe it was just for someone important who didn't want overhead lines in front of his window... Still, for us, drivers, we have to think about change capture.. And mistakes can happen when you start in the business...here you go. FYI, there is also a 3rd mode, It is on batteries, which is used only exceptionally in the event of a breakdown of a box on the ground.. To advance to the next one (you can do approx 50m max..)
Point de vue incroyable, merci pour cette vidéo aussi somptueuse que la couleur nacrée du ciel
Elle sert à quoi la section aps entre bois fleuri et gravière à Lormont? C’était pour des tests?
