- Hamas has been “chanting” that 70 per cent of all Palestinian deaths have been women and children in its war against Israel, and “it’s just not true,” says RMIT University Professor Lewi Stone.
His comments come as questions continue to be raised over the reported death toll in Gaza.
“Is there a sign of manipulation, or is it rubbish?” he told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“This is the kind of situation we’re in here because the data’s not so hot.
“We’re dealing with Hamas data, which is intrinsically problematical.
“The first few weeks, maybe it was reasonable, but the quality just got worse and worse and more and more erratic.”

The ‘data reports’ on the numbers were pre planned - by Al Jezeera and other pro Arab/Hamas media. If it were all “women and children,” then wouldn’t it stand to reason there would be a near equal number of men, young and old? Hamas kills the ‘Palestinians’ because they use them as shields and they blow them up with terrorist made bombs and missiles that are always blamed on Israel (never is except when Israel says and proves this), but when anything is questioned the pro Arab media ups the so called death numbers which in fact are never proved. 1) The number of wounded *every day* is always around double than the number of casualties. How can it be so linear and most of the times percentage of casualties are so high relatively to wounded?
2) Hamas is based on civil area, we cannot really know how many of the casualties were innocent kids or terrorist kids.. yes, there are Hamas soldiers aged 15, 16. Yes, there are women who support Hamas, holding hostages, hiding weapon in their children rooms.
3) Hamas do not say how many of its people have died in battles. Are you familiar with a normal country who does that? only dictatorship liars
4) Hamas is always lying
Remember the "hospital attack" in Gaza, where Hamas said 500 Gazan died 5 minutes after the event, which did not happened. How can someone count so fast?
And most important to remember is that Hamas do not have real military power to stop Israel. Its best weapon is world narrative. If they control the narrative, they could win by making the world intervene and stop Israel, like did happened so many times before.

For example, Hamas has never reported losing combatants. The only army in the world that never ever lost a combatant. Statistically impossible. Fighting in civilian clothes has this effect. Also, there have been partial ceasefire periods. During these periods, casualties usually drop dramatically. Mysteriously, this didn't happen in Gaza. So many miraculously weird things happening there.

It talks about how the numbers everyone keeps repeating, including the UN, are wrong and can't be trusted by the Ministry of Health's admission.

He probably did vastly over estimate the number of women & childrens' deaths, as in modern war (including world wars 1& 11) there were never such a high proportion of total deaths as 42% being just women & children.
If he his estimate is near the truth, the blame Hamas for not letting their own civilian population leave militarily targetted areas, when the IDF warns beforehand that they will be targeted. Yes, imagine having to fight a war where you're warning your enemy's
civilians of your next targeted area to save them... & then Hamas threatens to shoot any civilans who try to leave!

Also, if the data become less reliable as the war went on, would not that be largely due to the fact that Israel destroyed the healthcare system, since it is the healthcare system which would be primarily responsible for death data?
