DS version of the Thor movie game is one I would have added to the list. That game slaps (with a hammer). My parents bought the 2000 Spider-Man game for me as Christmas present, but I couldn't wait playing it, so I found where they had hidden the game to secretly play while they were at work. By the time Christmas arrived I had already beaten it twice. Good times.
That was me with X-Men arcade and Maximum Carnage. Neversoft's game then came along and, outside of open-world gameplay (huge, of course), basically provided the template of Spidey games to come.
Would love for Marvel to port a big collection of older games to new hardware. Especially Ultimate Spider-Man. When I’m bored on my ps5 I’d probably choose that to swing around aimlessly in comparison to any other Spidey game.
Yes! We both have the same number one. Neversoft’s Spider-Man is such an important game to me. It was a lot of fun watching you count down your top 40, Chris!
Marvel's Avengers got snubbed but you had some great entries on your list and I couldn't agree more about the #1 spot! I've got to try that X-Men arcade game at some point, sounds like a lot of fun
Good stuff, rock solid top 10. Surprised by the lack of Avengers and Ultimate Destruction but that's offset by your inclusion of that bopping Adamantium Rage theme. 2018 Spider-Man is my current favorite, as it had one of my favorite Spidey stories. Time to go finish Guardians of the Galaxy and replay Maximum Carnage again. And maybe another run of Ultimate Spider-Man.
Thanks, Chris! There was a very specific reason I placed some Ultimate Destruction footage (and X-Men Legends II) where I said some games that always make lists like this one didn't make mine...I simply never got around to them.
I love your list but I'm sad you didn't include incredible hulk ultimate destruction it's the best hulk game but this is your favorites list so I respect that i thank you for making my childhood so fun man
Well, there’s a reason I went out of my way to say I didn’t include things I didn’t really play, with both Ultimate Destruction and X-Men Legends II onscreen as I did. 😀 It came along at one of those times in life when I had too much other stuff going on to get to it. Thanks for watching!
Great list of games here. Can't go wrong with Spider-Man (2000) for the #1 spot. Really fun hearing you talk about your experiences with all of these Marvel games especially the ones you worked on. If there's a favorite of mine that wasn't on here I'd say LEGO Avengers. Though the original is superior, I still got that same level of enjoyment as the first. It's basically a big love letter to the MCU, filled with so much charm and all of it's DLC was amazing. Plus it had LEGO Lou Ferrigno that can transform into his own Hulk.
Spider-Man 2000 was my favorite because it felt like a perfect hybrid of the comics and '90s animated series. I really miss that feel. The movies were great and so was their influence on future games for a while. But I'm tired of nothing but orchestral music for 20 years. I wish they'd bring back the techno music and electric guitars, along with the relatively more muscular character physiques.
God I love that trivia boss battle in Web of Shadows so much. Thanks for that. And for acknowledging the iffy Spidey voice.
Glad you liked it, Zackery!

Ha, that's great!
And yes, Thor DS definitely has its fans. It was just kind of "fine" for me. To be fair, I didn't play it much.
Spiderman PSX was one of my favorite games as a kid! Was one of my first exposures to the greater marvel universe. Fantastic #1 pick

I now no longer feel like a crazy person now that I have found someone else who isn't super into Spider-Man 2 haha. Great list and great video!
Thanks! Spider-Man 2 is certainly important, but yeah, it never really was the pure magic for me it was for a lot of people.

Highly unlikely, but it would be great.
1:50 nice that's so cool that your name is in the Iron Man game
Great video, Chris! I love how personal your picks are. Hard to argue with #1 though.
Thanks, Josh! Your turn. 😉
@@cbake76 If I add it to my video backlog now, I might be done in time for the 50th anniversary. 😅
@@PanelstoPixels Sounds like a plan!
Glad someone else feels the same way about Spiderman 2
And you're actually the second person with a comment like that. 😀

Glad you could check it out, Diego! Impeccable taste.
That game is largely responsible for getting me into superheroes as a whole. Love it to death.
I bet you’re not alone.

I don’t dislike Avengers. It’s just…not all that special to me. Glad you agree with #1! 😀
8:55 apart from Iron Man I think Ant Man and Doctor Strange are really well suited for VR but that's just my opinion
No doubt!
I know a lot of these games and such, but my takeaway here is: I guess I’m not a comics guy.
But there are fun games. And a fun video.
Thanks for watching, Justin! Can't believe I'm just now responding to your comment. I'd probably feel the same about WWE/WWF games. 😀
@@cbake76 Well, I’d say by and large Marvel games offer more variety & entertainment. 😉

I loved so many of these game. It’s such a shame many of them aren’t available anymore. I particularly miss playing x men legends and wen of shadows.
That’s licensing for you. Thanks for watching!
@@cbake76 darn pesky legal issues, always getting in the way of my fun….
Great video man on covering all of these marvel games and making a 40 favorite marvel games list. ;)
Thanks for showing up to the Premiere! I loved all the comments-even the one about not liking ASM. 😀
@@cbake76 your welcome man 😊

Captain America & The Avengers is fantastic
