Do I need to get a pressure washer to use the foam cannon?
Your videos are great! Very well explained! So many people do not know about the wash zones. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Thanks for watching.
Can’t wait for the drying process, great video!
Thanks buddy. Coming soon.
I appreciate your videos. Thanks man
@@AP-ur2yy you are welcome.
i love your garage! that pressure washer system you got going on is amazing !
Thanks. Glad you enjoy the channel.
Just bought a starter kit after watching this. Good stuff!
Thanks. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the video
Thanks
Hands down, this is the best video on how to wash your Tesla car or any other car...you simplified it bruh...I was also using the gritguard wrong lmao...I used to place it on the floor of the bucket 😂
Thanks a lot for the compliment. I appreciate it. Glad you enjoy the channel. Thanks for watching
Awesome video bro as always!!😎👍🏼
Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed it.
Gangster video bro!!!!!!
Thank
Terrific video....learned something new today, using a brush around emblems, body crevices, etc. I don't usually do that first...it's a great idea. Thanks! Those grit guards are neat. I have to pick some up. Love that pearl paint on Your car!
Thanks. Yes the brushes keep those hard to get to areas from collecting dirt. While the foam is dwelling it frees you up to hit a few of these areas. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing I have been using the brushes along with Adam's Car Shampoo. I used to use CarPro Reset. 5 gallons of Adam's should last a while!!
@@J1Z06 good to hear. Glad it’s working out for you.
If you find the hose getting caught under the front tire, there’s a little tool you can get so the hose glides smoothly around the tire..it’s awesome. I like how you didn’t rinse the soap off after the foam step..not sure why people do that. I’ve found that after using the 2 bucket method, the wash bucket has dirt in it after the carwash, which indicated to me that the rinse bucket isn’t getting all the dirt off. I’ve since converted to the 4-to-6-mitt, one-bucket method so I have a clean mitt every time I start a new panel. I use the empty rinse bucket now to throw in the used mitts. Cheers!
Therascals thanks and yes I have seen those things that go on the wheels. They are cool. I do a bunch of microfiber towels and a one bucket method as well. The Gary dean method. I like it a lot. If the car is hardly dirty during a maintenance wash than the 2 bucket method seems to work well. I just make sure to scrub the mitt regularly in the rinse bucket and try to get all the dirt off. Anything to keep the swirls and marring to a minimum. I plan on doing some more vids showing different methods of getting things done.
Therascals I replied to you by accident from my other account riding enduro. That was me though. lol
Hey man just starting watching you love the vids. U should try out meguiars ceramic wax a review on it would be nice!
Thanks for watching and I will look into putting it on my test hood in a future video.
You sound like a guy that should be on easy listening radio or a jazz radio station :D
Thanks
Great videos. Your calm demeanor makes them informative and fun to watch. Question. What do you recommend for maintenance on the mits, brushes and microfiber towels in between washes and details? Thanks
Check out my video on washing microfiber towels. I go into that process. With the brushes rinse and hang dry with bristles down. Thanks for watching
Great video… mahalo.
Thanks.
Love your vids man , what part of hawaii are you from ?
North shore. Thanks
This channel is awesome. I just purchased a Model 3 and am looking forward to using your methods to keep it looking good! What is the orifice size on your 40 degree nozzle? Do you need 3mm to get a consistent 1,000 PSI?
Here is the video of my complete setup and an install that I did. The links in the description have all the right parts for the karcher 1700. Check it out and if you have any questions let me know.

nice zone color changing feature
DustyTheRealtor what does that mean?
@@HawaiiDetailing he's talking about the color edit you did showing the 3 zones of the car wash
@@RealReeseElDon oh yeah. Thanks
Great video! What's your thoughts on using an ONR or an APC prewash before you do the initial rinse? Thanks!
I think if you are careful that it is not necessary to do any pre wash other then the foam cannon. If its that dirty I do a thorough job with the PW. Thanks for watching
❤❤
Great video! Do you add water to the foam cannon with the soap?
Yes. 2oz of soap and the rest water is a good starting point
Once again, Dude you are so helpful! My biggest question was should I use my low psi pressure washer on my car? Most say no, some say yes, but my outdoor water pressure is awful... Thanks again.
I use a 1000 psi pressure washer. I think its ideal as there is little to no risk of damaging the vehicle. That's what I recommend. Thanks for watching.
@@HawaiiDetailing is a portable power washer, w/ 1600 PSI ok to use to wash the exterior?
@@timdrabik6113 yes just be careful getting to close to the paint.
I like using 1 bucket with 6 small mitts. I never dip a used mitt back in the bucket.
Yeah. I like that too. I do it on my No Rinse wash. Made a video about it. Works great. The Gary Dean Method is the way to go when using the multiple micro towel method. I think if you are careful to not drag dirt around, rinse the mitt well and take your time all around the 2 bucket method is a great way to go too. Thanks for watching.
I like that method as well.
Hey Jeremy, when you wash your model 3, how do you keep the charging port from opening? I’m picking up my model 3 this afternoon and can’t wait! 😊
I don’t know to be honest. You could keep your phone away from the car while washing so that it’s not on. Thanks for watching
Lock the car ,the port won't open then
Use the wash mode, in the service section
Question, with the regular detains / exterior cleaning that you perform, is it necessary to get a protective wrap applied to the outside of the vehicle to prevent scratches & chips? Did you have your Tesla wrapped for protection? If so, which areas of the vehicle? Love the videos & links, very helpful.
I don’t have any wrap on my car. I do have a ceramic coating. I recommend one of you have the money. There are less durable products out there but a proper ceramic coating is a great thing to have. It provides hydrophobic properties as well and slickness and gloss. The protection can last anywhere from 2-7 years depending on the product.
@@HawaiiDetailing Thanks so much for responding. Love the channel. Very helpful. Will the ceramic coating protect against rocks, paint chipping, scratching? Do you do the whole car? Ballpark / approximate figure for the cost?
With regard to washing the interior, you use the 303 on the dash & center console (I have new Tesla w/ matte finish center console)?
Do you clean the fabric on the doors?
Any recommendations for cleaning / protecting the wood paneling?
With regard to washing the exterior, can I use a regular garden hose? Can the foam cannon attached to a garden hose?
Can I use a portable power washer? Will the foam cannon attach to a portable power washer?
Thanks again for the help, advice and tips!
@@timdrabik6113 ceramic coating protects against dust & helps make washing your car easier as dust doesn’t stick much. To protect against rocks / chips - I would suggest getting a PPF clear bra wrap for the hood of your car . Typical price ranges anywhere from $500-$2,000. A ceramic coating done by a professional cost around $600-$700
@@timdrabik6113 & yes garden hose should be fine just as long you throughly remove the dirt before applying any sponge to it & using frequent lubrication from the car wash suds to prevent any swirls
Any diy suggestions / tools / tips for washing under carriage?
I don't really have anything for the undercarriage. Their is an attachment for the pressure washer like this amzn.to/3vdCkyw I have not tried it but if I did I would use something like this
Great video. So why have more soap in the second bucket if you already sprayed it with foam? Doesn’t the foam cannon cover the cleaning?
Extra lubricant for the wash mitt after you rinse it in the clean water. Absolutely necessary?? Not really. Nice?? Yes
Got it. Thanks!
do you wash one half of the car first and then the other side next or are all the steps followed around the car all at ones?
I normally wash all the way around. It depends on the conditions. You just don’t want the soap or water to dry on the paint.
Do you use the 40° for the tires and the car?
Yes. I use the 40 for the whole car.
I have microfiber wash mitts that look like noodles. Are they ok to use? Thanks
Yes it will be fine for sure. Just be sure to rinse the wash mitt well between panels as that design may be more prone to holding dirt in the mitt. When its time to upgrade or swap it out switch to the better version.
I don't have a pressure washer. Can I use my hose?
Yes. For sure.
Hello! I was wondering do you have PPF? Why or why not :)
I don’t. It’s too expensive. It all depends on your driving conditions. If you believe your car will get chipped regularly on your routes I would consider PPF. Thanks
@@HawaiiDetailing ahhh I see thank you so much for responding. I don’t think it would have too much chipping it just everyone makes it seems like Tesla paint is so thin that if I drive it after two weeks it gonna have chips everywhere!! I was quoted 3000 PPF. I was like bro, can’t I just wash it. Would I say that your car stills looks fresh ?
Do you wash one side at a time?
I do the whole car starting with the top. Rinse after.
cold water?
Yes
So does anyone have any tips on how to dry the top ?? i have a model y and im 5’1 and i can never dry the top so it just stays ugly with dried up water drops😩😩 like is there any drying product/tool or anything????
You can try using a rubber squeegee with a long handle to get most of the water off!
Good Idea. Just be carefull not to run it over any paint. Thanks for watching
You can try a multi step stool if you’re comfortable.
Buy 10 wash mits instead of those expensive buckets. Each panel gets a new mit.
Yeah that’s another great way to do it. Those mits are $10-20+ each though. The buckets are 4.99 at the HD. I hear you and agree if you use a new mit every few wipes you don’t need a second bucket. I do it on the No rinse all the time. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
I don't have a pressure washer or a foam cannon! 😮
Not yet. Soon. Hahahaha. Substitute with a hose. It’s still will get the job done. Thanks for watching
so I noticed you didn't was the tires...
I did a separate wheel video. Wheels always first.
