I wanted this from the first time I heard it Los Angeles in '84, didn't actually see a copy until the early part of this century...a used audio cassette, I snapped it up! Turns out whoever owned it, must've not liked it, it was pratically brand new.
The way I first heard of Kazumi was a radio broadcast of the concert in '84, in San Francisco I think (I could be mistaken, it may have been LA). But it BLEW MY MIND! I had never heard of Sly & Robbie, Marcus Miller, or Omar Hakim at that point either. But boy, did I get an education! I immediately went out and got Mobo I & Ii on vinyl (separate albums) and later on 1 CD. And as much of his back catalogue as I could find at that point. Got a bunch of the later albums, too. I think I have, on average, listened to these tracks (that is, the COMBINED 20 min. epic which is American Short Hair/Mobo 2) once a month every month for the last 35 years. They are still my favorite tracks from this artist and I have NEVER gotten tired of them. Thanks for posting!
Kazumi is a BAAAAAD MAN, nuff said & Marcus Miller on bass wow!!!🎧🎼🎶💪🏿💯✅👌🏾😎
Sly and Robbie too
MOBO という摩訶不思議な世界❤
Two drummers and two bass players all at once. Etched into my head

My favorite album of all time
All legends were on this album and special mention to Gregg Mann!!
I bought this album in 1984 and still have it in 2023.
"Walk, Don't Run"! is nice too
Killer track from a killer album.
It certainly is. Thanks for the comment!
Had this on cassette when I was a teenager & played the hell out of it. This is a really tough album to find nowadays for a good price.

This cut just kills on all levels.
Reminds me of Salvador Dream but they are a 90's Canadian power trio and I know they came after this. RIP Bassphere
Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.
