The game was developed in Sweden and was distributed by the grocery store chain Ica and McDonald's, the "Hershey Candy Bar" is an in-store McDonald's location in the Swedish version.
Found two copies of this the other day. I remember my grandmother having like eight copies and handing them out to the grandkids. Dunno what happened to the other ones.
My mom brought home this game many years ago for my brother and I we each got our own copy. My mom was a manager of pamida. Pamida no longer exist after it was purchased by shopko which i'm pretty sure that no longer exists except as a vision center. I always get sad looking at it. thinking how the store closed down my mom had to find a new job. I mean she bounced back just fine. but it was sad time still.
Works perfectly in newest Wine under Linux Mint! BG music is supposed to come off the CD but you can set drive mountpoints to folders for wine, everything works. This game is very glitchy tho, you can run THROUGH any collision detection by pushing your shopping cart into a corner and wriggling it for a bit.
Man I wish I could find this thing. My aunt used to work at pamida, so she had a copy, but I doubt she still does. I don't even know if it's expensive, no one is selling it!

Had a friend which his twin daughters always talked about "a super market game" when i was fixing something in their PC back at the time when WinXP still was hot news. At the time internet wasn't much a thing over here and i never was able to figure what game they was asking for. Got The Sims instead for them and it pleased the girls - but they still talked much about the other game. Then one of them got sick... She had a rare type of cancer that only manifest simptons when the disease was fully developed and paralised her whole body above the neck. Little girl not endured a season even with all medic support her father, friends and parents could get for her... Was a long time ago, but man... it hurts just to think, specially when only now i guess i have stumbled in the said "super market game" she and her twin asked for when i put their first computer to run.
