I’m glad it helped 😊 If you are planning on buying studio monitors and a studio sub you don’t need the 4i4, a stereo output would suffice. Studio subwoofers take your stereo output, apply crossover and send the signal to your main speakers.
@@dragonstone6594 Well in that case you definitely need the 4i4. Then you use Focusrite Control to setup Outputs 1/2 and copy those setting to Output 3/4 so both setero outs will send the same signal. Then you feed, let's say Output1/2 to the main speakers and Output 3/4 to your HiFi sub with a jack-rca cable (or whatever works) and you're good to go.
actually this might be a better option as the signal doesnt go through the sub before it reaches the main monitors. In my experience the sound quality is a tiny bit better if the monitors and subs are fed separately. Also this setup lets you easily connect two separate subs if you wish so :)
@@portwill Dude, you clarified A LOT of stuff for me. Thank you so much! I've been researching these stuff for a couple of weeks now, with a lot of confusion. lol Maybe you should make a video on this topic. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about this.
@@kaceres9058 Hello! I would look for a 4 output device like Motu M4. Or Scarlett 2i4 or 4i4 (forgot which one they sell now). This way you have options later and can use two inputs.
@@portwill for the speakers i know the way... but for the specific subwoofer i dont know how to connect it, because it only has only one RCA as an intput
I haven’t had an issue with the Motu. I would strongy advice the 2i2 4th gen for consideration. You can’t go wrong with either but the new 4th gen Focusrites are really hard to beat
I have the MOTU M2 on Win 11 Pro and did have odd dropouts at first. Here's how to fix it: Right-Click Start Button, select Device Manager. Scroll down to bottom and expand 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers', and you will see 1 or more items that say Hub in the name. Right-click, Properties, and go to the Power Management tab, and uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device...", and do that for every item that has a power management tab. Many of the USB items listed will not, jsyk. I do this on every PC I work on, even at my job. The MOTU sounds excellent, has a great dynamic range, and those meters on the front are worth the price of admission.
Hey man great video!
Q: I want to set up a 2.1 sound system, 2 monitor speakers and a sub, do I need the Scarlet 4i4?

@@portwill Ah, ok I see. But what happens if I have a HiFi subwoofer? Like the Klipsch R-101SW and two studio monitors.

@@kaceres9058 the Motu M4 has RCA outputs on Line 3-4 so you can use those to hookup any subwoofer. Then output 1-2 will be for your monitors. Easy ;)
I read that the Motu have windows driver issues, are these resolved already? Choosing between Motu M2 and Scarlett Solo Gen 4 for my windows pc.
