Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. It is the first installment in the Predator franchise. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a technologically advanced alien who stalks and hunts them down.
Predator was written in 1984 under the working title of Hunter. Filming ran from March to June 1986 with creature effects devised by Stan Winston; the budget was around $15 million. 20th Century Fox released the film on June 12, 1987, in the United States, where it grossed $98.3 million. Initial reviews were mixed, but the film has since been reappraised as a classic of the action genre.
The success of Predator spawned a media franchise of films, novels, comic books, video games, and toys. It spawned three direct sequels: Predator 2 (1990), Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018), and an upcoming installment in preproduction. A crossover with the Alien franchise produced the Alien vs. Predator films, which include Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

Elpidia Carrillo, The female lead in the first movie has had a very successful film career. This includes playing the mother in Blue Beetle along with The New World. She also made an appearance in Predator 2. If you’re familiar with Spanish or Native American TV and movies, then you’ve definitely seen her in lead roles recently. It would be interesting to see a bit of where her character has been since the first events. A reunion to commemorate the loss of hereos she’s come to admire, Dutch‘s men, would not be unrealistic or unreasonable. Even if it’s just a news report in the background, it would be a perfect way to bring them back together. It would also help set the emotional tone of the movie going forward.

remember in the predator movie where they were on the asteroid, the woman that played in there was her granddaughter because in that movie, she recounted her mother telling the story about a creature in the jungle that hunted them down and how she escaped

Royce and Isabel were abouts was explained in the Comics
Lex had to do a breafing and remember in The Predator they had the weapon the was giving to Lex by the Head leader of the Predator cause she demonstrated power and strength cuz she was the first human on earth to defeat a Queen alien

to send more than one predator to hunt humans would be a great dishonour in their culture, because humans are a weak species.
when they hunt xenomorph queens, they go in large squads. at least that's how the dark horse comics explained them.

I read the comics after the first movie because I wanted more information about the Predator culture and weapons. I think that hunting humans is how young Predators get combat experience. They must achieve a certain skill level before they can hunt alien xenomorphs. In one comic, the Predator had a single-shot gun for hunting a xenomorph to make it more challenging/sporting. Using energy weapons to kill an enemy that fights hand-to-hand is dishonorable/cowardly. My favorite comic was when the Predators went to a bug planet wearing acid resistant (ceramic) armor to capture a queen. Then, after the queen was chained up in a secure cargo bay, they took her eggs and put them onto small ships that were launched to "Xenomorph Planets." Any planet that doesn't have a single lifeform capable of killing a Predator, and giving them a challenge, is turned into a "Xenomorph Planet" by sending xenomorph eggs to that planet. Humans are fun to hunt because we use technology and after every encounter with the Predators we become harder to kill. The challenge of killing a prey that can kill a Predator is fun for them so they don't want the "Hunting Planet" Earth to become infected with xenomorphs.
