Everybody is talking about how eerie, mysterious and sinister this sounds, which is absolutely true, but personally I also think it sounds kinda sad, especially the soft beginning
My first impression with Aavaros was "She is a cute elf" then I asked myself "wait... Is it a girl or a man with long hair" then when he spoke I found out that he was a man
The only object we've seen so far in the show directly connected to Aaravos(disregarding the mirror) is Callum's cube, which is named the 'Key of Aaravos. It reacts to every magical object it encounters by revealing its primal(elemental) inclination. Humans are adaptable, but not to the point that they could become masters of Dark Magic so recently after discovering it. We also see, in the hands of what is assumedly the master dark mage of the time, Viren's Staff, which was apparently not human-made, but a gift. We know that it is possible to connect yourself to an arcanum, even if you were not born with it, though apparently Callum is the only known case. My theory is that Aaravos decided to try and connect to more than one arcanum. Either he succeeded, or not. The result is the same. Somewhere along the way, he discovered dark magic, and, for whatever reason, decided to give it to humans.
He did succeed, he knows all 6 arcanums and knows Dark Magic as well. In the show, he demonstrated that he could use Star magic and Sun magic and also Dark magic when showing Viren how to communicate with him.
I agree with this, I loved how sinister they made him, from the first time we heard him he sent chills down my spine. Now I do have a theory, as stated he has a very Sauron/Morgoth/verybaddude vibe, but it got me thinking, where did humans learn dark magic from? Coming up with a whole new theory on how magic works and discovering a new magical source through one human is... massive progress even for humans beings, as adaptable as we are. Nothing like that comes all at once as a result of one old mage's works without some form of previous material to start from, we saw Aaravos can use dark magic and he was an incredibly accomplished mage back in his day is it possible he originally came up with dark magic and gave it, as a "gift" to humans or at least the humans copied his early work. The current state of the whole continent may have been part of his intention from the beginning, extreme distrust between men and elves that began long ago, really only needed a slight push on Aaravos's part to tip the balance into the centuries long conflict it is today. Just think about it with the dragons and elves arrogance, believing they would always be on top and humans would always be below them, this is the perfect recipe for humanity's hatred for them, and mankind being naturally accustomed to violence, war would be easy for a Man... Elf? (don't know what pronoun to use) like Aavaros. Just a thought.

Aaravos seems to have some master plan, he doesn't seem to care about either Xadians or humans. Many people believe he started the war between Xadia and humans by giving humans dark magic. I believe he wants to conquer the whole of the world. I also think he is pretty much using Viren, and when he is no longer useful he will cast him aside. I know this is a kids show, but I would find it interesting if Aaravos became much darker, maybe mass murdering both elves and humans. The conflict between the elves and humans seems to be over, and many of the nations (both elvish and human) would be unprepared for a threat like Aaravos. As well as that, the side of him we saw when he killed Queen Kessa has a lot of possiblility for becoming a very major threat.
Ok, but we got to remember that Callum was basically able to get an arcana. The first human to do so. It's not impossible that the humans discovered it due to a need and elves such as Aavaros expanded on it.

So insanely mysterious and epic. Man, though, I really wish there wasn't so much strings and choir when it starts to get intense...just so that I can figure it out on the piano better. XD No, it's all awesome. :D
Right?? I would LOVE to play this on piano. But its so hard to get right because its SO intense in them string parts. I quess i can replicate that delicious mystery by getting some very bass notes in? I mean, its not like the rest is that difficult.
ok but imagine an entire orchestra playing this that would be epic if that happens that would be insane If you do manage to get a good piano arrangement though, lmk, or even like piano and a few string instruments
For some reason I thought the mirror was showing the Lunar Sanctum at first because it was one of those magic spying mirrors. And yeah, somehow I though that Aaravos was Lunanne, her position as the guardian shown through the starry skin. Of course, that was until Aaravos started looking into the camera sinisterly...
well, Lujanne talks about how the moonshadow elves could use the sanctum of the moon to open a doorway to another world before it was destroyed, so that may be where Aaravos is trapped
I just realized something! You know how he has the star primal symbol on his chest? Notice how it’s black in the center, that black part probably symbolizes his status as a “Fallen” Startouch Elf
This sounds so ominous but at the very same time, it kind of invokes a tiny bit of wonder. It definitely does sound sinister in a way that fits Aaravos, such a good theme.
Aaravos was a very skilled mage, that they speak of in the beginning of the 1st season.. and that cude that Callum has is one of his puzzle pieces.. I am so excited for the next 4 seasons! WHO ELSE IS PUMPED!?
I found this mirror near the dragon king bed. It meant something for him. You meant something for him!" -"Perhaps." "Who are you?" -"My name will mean nothing to you." "WHERE are you?" -(genuinely baffled) "I don't know." -"Viren, I'm nothing if not elegant and efficient. We'll risk as few lives as possible. One." "Ah. Mine." -"Yes."
one really interesting thing about this theme for me is that it has the stylings of a waltz in the left hand piano part, going from a base note to 2 chords is a very standard style of writing a waltz for piano. They take that, but give it an extra beat for the chord, making it familiar yet almost wrong in a way, creates a very sinister feel for this piece. I also just like how it builds from the soft chords, to dissonants, to an intense orchestral backing, which builds from this mysticism to something quite a bit more intense and evil, which all and all I think fits the character quite well. what a fantastically put together soundtrack
How long it took you to catch the fact, that Aaravos is narrator in the beggining of the show? I got it after finishing teh show. At first it always seemed like "You know, there was this good times, then tragedy happened and now we are here" but after realising that it is Aaravos who tells the story, I can't help but wonder if he wasn't praising his achievment of splitting Xadia into two.
I think I noticed it when I first started season 3. Aaravos does the some of the same narration there, and I think I recognized it and looked back on season 1 to confirm. I was mind-blown lol. It's very interesting that we have a villain basically acting as a narrator for the story. But on some level it does make sense, since he's probably one of the oldest living creatures we know of in Xadia.
I noticed that too! Something else i saw that could fit into this is that in the intro thing in seasons 1-3 is that the hands unrolling the map are Aaravos'.
People say this makes them think of a dark version of the Moonlight Sonata, and I get what they mean, but the opening bars REALLY reminds of Comptine d'un autre été
I'm just dying for season 4 at this point. Of all the new stuff to come, I'm most intrigued by Aaravos, his back story, and his motivations. The creators have hinted that he's complicated, and I've always been a bit of a sucker for complicated bad guys on my screen lol. Clearly he has a grudge against his own kind, so I'm very interested to see what exactly happened.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Aaravos does in the future, he is the true villain of the dragon prince. Everybody is just a pawn to him right now. Things be happening soon!
One should distrust the devil who never lies more than the demon who always lies, for while you can trust the demon to always lie, the devil will never tell the whole truth. - some guy

I thought his star thing was his clothing. OwO I seriously thought he was a girl. His music fits him so well, mysterious and powerful. He deserves to be on the best villain list. Just noticed is he a lefty? IF SO GO US!
I was absolutely sure that Aaravos was an elven queen who'd humor Viren to spy on him and test his powers to judge how big of a threat (if at all) he could be - ending with Viren turning it around, tricking her and accessing forbidden knowledge due to her arrogant carelessness. Then he spoke with that voice and shattered my expectations. Hot damn...

Netflix has a sad history of striking videos with their footage, I think
Goodness, I feel ancient. I remember the great copy write wars...
"I See You In The Mirror! Here, eat my caterpiller!"
@@vilemrehos423 True....Well, if you ever figure it out and are somehow able to post it let me know :P
ok but imagine an entire orchestra playing this
that would be epic
if that happens that would be insane
If you do manage to get a good piano arrangement though, lmk, or even like piano and a few string instruments
It's crazy and scary at the same time to think that at some point, Aaravos might not be such a mysterious character
please don't make me think about that
For some reason I thought the mirror was showing the Lunar Sanctum at first because it was one of those magic spying mirrors. And yeah, somehow I though that Aaravos was Lunanne, her position as the guardian shown through the starry skin. Of course, that was until Aaravos started looking into the camera sinisterly...
Same!
well, Lujanne talks about how the moonshadow elves could use the sanctum of the moon to open a doorway to another world before it was destroyed, so that may be where Aaravos is trapped
I know he’s evil and stuff but I can’t help but think that he’s kinda cool
all villains are cool
but Aaravos is the coolest
@@Cheshire5174 YES
Basically Sauron before his body destruction in Numenor
I would sell my left leg to have him breathe in my direction.
"Please continue I cant wait to listen the rest of this story"
I just realized something! You know how he has the star primal symbol on his chest? Notice how it’s black in the center, that black part probably symbolizes his status as a “Fallen” Startouch Elf
if I'm being honest I had no idea people thought Aaravos was even a girl to begin with. I knew immediately that he was a guy.
This sounds so ominous but at the very same time, it kind of invokes a tiny bit of wonder. It definitely does sound sinister in a way that fits Aaravos, such a good theme.
One true Mephistopheles
Aaravos was a very skilled mage, that they speak of in the beginning of the 1st season.. and that cude that Callum has is one of his puzzle pieces.. I am so excited for the next 4 seasons! WHO ELSE IS PUMPED!?
apparently aaravos is only at a fraction of his power, and that's terrifying. i'm so excited for the next 4 seasons!!
This guy right here
SpeeeeeeeeeEEEeeEEeeeeEEAAaaak.
*That little smirk*
It's such a beautiful, intriguing, and yet scary melody. It really fits the character.
It's such a good theme tho....like genuinely I love it!! The dissonance is beautiful.
I found this mirror near the dragon king bed. It meant something for him. You meant something for him!"
-"Perhaps."
"Who are you?"
-"My name will mean nothing to you."
"WHERE are you?"
-(genuinely baffled) "I don't know."
-"Viren, I'm nothing if not elegant and efficient. We'll risk as few lives as possible. One."
"Ah. Mine."
-"Yes."
“Your arrogance is so predictable.”
A good theme for Koh the face stealer
Haha yes. How long I've waited to see the text of another Avatar fan...
even more fitting as I'm sure they have the same voice actor
@@abigailthebagel224 they are
"she will be a useful asset" (I'm hyped for season 4)
This is so creepy and beautiful at the same time! I can't wait to see more of him in November!!! Thanks for this!
Lord Viren in the first Aaravos scene tho.....
one really interesting thing about this theme for me is that it has the stylings of a waltz in the left hand piano part, going from a base note to 2 chords is a very standard style of writing a waltz for piano.
Ahh...how long I have waited to hear the other voice. How may I serve you?
I swear my heart stopped when he started talking. If this guy was real I would FRRRR find him and marry him
How long it took you to catch the fact, that Aaravos is narrator in the beggining of the show?
I got it after finishing teh show. At first it always seemed like "You know, there was this good times, then tragedy happened and now we are here" but after realising that it is Aaravos who tells the story, I can't help but wonder if he wasn't praising his achievment of splitting Xadia into two.
Salem approves
I think I noticed it when I first started season 3. Aaravos does the some of the same narration there, and I think I recognized it and looked back on season 1 to confirm. I was mind-blown lol. It's very interesting that we have a villain basically acting as a narrator for the story. But on some level it does make sense, since he's probably one of the oldest living creatures we know of in Xadia.
@@supremeoverlorde2109 Based on who we have met in the show so far the only one who I believe could be older is the Dragon Queen
“Speak”
“Speak, speak so i may hear you”
This theme suites Aaravos perfectly
I'm just dying for season 4 at this point. Of all the new stuff to come, I'm most intrigued by Aaravos, his back story, and his motivations. The creators have hinted that he's complicated, and I've always been a bit of a sucker for complicated bad guys on my screen lol. Clearly he has a grudge against his own kind, so I'm very interested to see what exactly happened.
"What is your name?"
"Three dog -- Awoooooo!!!"
I think he is basically Sauron in his good looking form.
I absolutly love his theme. The beginning reminds me so much of a Rusty Lake game, so full of mysterys.
Miluji tu pohádku jako tuhle písničku ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
After Season 6 this music hits so hard! I love him and his story qwq
Finally, I have found it
Dang this is better than I remember
This gives me flashbacks to my childhood playing pokemon black and white
not me putting this on loop
Aaravos is the most mysterious character of all time!
Alongside Gman.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Aaravos does in the future, he is the true villain of the dragon prince. Everybody is just a pawn to him right now. Things be happening soon!
We are all of us stardust held together by love for an instant
This could lull me to sleep that’s how beautiful it is (also I’m writing this at 4am
GOD. SEASON 4 CLIPS HAVE BEEN GIVEN TOO US. WE HAVE A RELEASE DATE FOR NOVEMBER FOR THE MYSTERY OF AARAVOS. DON'T WORRY I'M NORMAL ABOUT IT
Evil mystirious and a lil bit friendly ...that is aaravos...his theme is so good
One should distrust the devil who never lies more than the demon who always lies, for while you can trust the demon to always lie, the devil will never tell the whole truth.
- some guy
this song goes so hard ✊✊✊
...I haven’t seen much of this show, and I’m sure the protagonists are well meaning...but it’s going to be rewarding to see Aaravos take the piss out of them.
Hot damn...
What if he's ambidextrous?
Aaravos. The *best bug pal*
Does anyone else hear the question "who are you?" in the high notes at 0:10?
Blue guys with with ominous themes in fiction are dangerous.
He's purple though.
This is some bloodborne type beat 2:30
Favorite song
I just realized that his theme reminds me with Belos. Not rhythm wise, but tone wise. All of the three tracks.
This theme is delicious
Love it
