How many of the attempted shoot stems were successful? Its reasonable to think maybe not all made it?

Good video, very short and explicit, are there any results with the aliavera sap? just a small suggestion, instead of putting some rock at the buttom, why not you put old cloth or rag in order to keep the earth in the pot and also keep some humidity.

I tried rooting pear cuttings in many different ways but there is a tiny maggot that is eating away the bark inside the soil

More than likely that "maggot" is a grub worm. Maggots are larva layed by flies and flies don't eat plants but mostly waste. The only plant maggot is an apple fly maggot. They literally eat apples. Grub worms on the other hand, eat all sorts of plants underground; roots, grass, etc. There's stuff you can buy to kill off grub worms.

This video is fake if you try doing this it won't work. If you want it to work you need good drainage not sand add 75% perlite to a regular potting mix in a pot then take cuttings from new growth soft wood NOT hard and then snip off all but 1 or 2 leafs then cut the remaining leaf or leaves in half so the cuttings have less to focus on you just want them to focus on rooting then use a good liquid rooting compound like woods rooting compound dip the part of the cutting that the roots are going to come out of at a 1 to 10 ratio for 5 seconds dont rinse them off leave it on the cutting and finally you have to mist the cuttings for about 5 seconds every 30 minutes from sun up to sun down don't do it at night you will rot the cuttings get a timer and mister there are videos on RUclips showing how to build a mist bench not that hard just takes a little time and money this is how big time nurseries root cuttings. There is very few plants you can propagate this easy elderberry being one of them but not pears.

My peat moss, compost based home made potting mix has definitely worked before usually taking 2-4 months to root but I also use a greenhouse propagate during the cooler season and am meticulously careful about moisture since too much will rot them.

@@miniatures1 she did. But she never specified about what I wrote 😂 also, this is the internet.
But you know I could just write like you and have a run on sentence that goes on forever and people have headaches at the end of it because you just sound like you are blabbing on at a million miles an hour and people find that infuriating to read however if you never learned grammar you would not understand why this is one of the most annoying things to do in the English language and probably many others too no one knows what part you are emphasizing on or where you are meant to pause and take a breath imagine trying to read this paragraph out loud without no punctuation as I am showing you right now actually I recommend you read this out loud with no pauses or emphasis on words because without correct grammar there is none are you frustrated yet have I made my point yet please for the love of all things good maybe take a second or two to use grammar correctly next time.
The internet has courses etcetera where you can learn these things if you were never taught this in school. I didn't grow up in a padded room society, so excuse me for my bluntness. But everyone who's speaking and writing in english, should learn the correct grammar.
