Very ominous looking skies over Hobby, which is probably what slightly delayed your take off roll, waiting for heavy rain to clear? The weather was only marginally better at Tulsa with quite a low cloud ceiling! Great to watch though, thanks again and regards from the UK :-)
The weather in the south and plains is always a guessing game during the summer. Is it going to rain, is it going to storm, will there be a tornado with 150mph winds??? Could get all three at once haha. Thanks for watching my friend!
Yes. As is pretty obvious from this channel, I fly a lot. There has only been one time where I actually thought things might not be okay. And as usual, I was filming it. m.ruclips.net/video/Tb-u8j9gX7I/видео.html At that link, you can fly along with me on the one approach that has actually scared me. Thanks for watching my friend.
I mean, it was like 7 minutes. That’s really not that bad. I’ve had much much worse. Recently at LGA I was on a flight where we taxied for almost 2 hours because of congestion. This was for a 50 minute flight to Montreal. So, in comparison 7 minutes is not bad haha. Thanks for watching!
So, don’t forget that the spoilers are also used as flight controls. Although primarily designed to slow the aircraft during landing, they are also designed to assist the ailerons in controlling the roll of the aircraft. It isn’t uncommon to see them rise in conjunction with the aileron depending on how much control the pilot has put into the yoke. During takeoff, as the aircraft moves faster, the wing is creating more lift. Meaning the aircraft is essentially becoming lighter and lighter. That means the actual physical control of the aircraft with the nose wheel becomes less effective. In this moment, right before the aircraft takes off, the pilots rely on the aerodynamic properties of the flight controls to help keep the aircraft steady. Utilizing the ailerons, spoilers, and rudder to keep the aircraft stable. We may have been dealing with a slight crosswind here which can be negated by using the rudder and ailerons to counter it. If the pilot puts enough control into the aileron the spoiler is going to rise. That’s most likely why it was up for a short time during this takeoff. Thanks for watching my friend!
Skylite Productions what is MSY like gonna be going there later this month on southwest from Austin on my way back to Denver and it will be my first time to New Orleans
Well, I’m not 100% sure if you are asking what the airport is like, or what the city is like. Either way, I won’t be much help. I have only visited the old airport which, by the time you go, the new airport will be open. And, although I’ve been to MSY a couple times, and have even driven through the Mew Orleans area, I’ve never spent any time exploring New Orleans. Sorry.

@@sla31 Ok it just looked a bit long. 2 hrs waiting, did the airline get charged for holding on the ground for that long ?
Any thunder & lightning besides the rain?
There was. We were actually delayed leaving about an hour due to a ground stop.
Still has the old logo?
Yes. There are quite a few planes that still wear the old Southwest livery. Thanks for watching!
It's not that old...
Why did the flight spoilers pop up and down during takeoff run
