21:21 Was that a deliberate Billy Joel pun?
Interesting that you would use Huey Lewis and The News as another example of a band on American Bandstand. Did you know that they have a song called "Don't Look Back" which has the line " she took the car and the Steely Dan?" Is that why you chose the clip?
That's something interesting I didn't know, thank you for pointing that out. I don't remember why I used the Huey Lewis clip in particular, but it was probably because it was one of the first to come up when I was making this video. Thanks for the comment.
“Only a fool would say that” is a song about communism and why it is not good
Did I miss it or was Wendel covered?
Roger Nichols and his baby Wendel were the 3rd member of the band and are responsible for their sound.
The show biz kids video is on RUclips now
As far as I can make out, 409 is a prime number. Is that any help? No, I didn't think so.
(Interesting video, BTW)
Damn, the cover of Two Against Nature could have been even worse. They really had atrocious visual taste.
Not a fan of The Royal Scam cover?
They world needs that Dirty Work Horror Remix! Please tell me it exists in full….
Here you go. ruclips.net/video/4yc9Vz63BKc/видео.html
For Steely Dan to write a song with the N-word in it wouldn't be too strange for the time. Sure, Elvis Costello wrote Oliver's Army in 1979 with the word in it, sung by a white guy.
About 10 years ago I remember coming across a a song on RUclips that was done (I think) in the late 50's. Musically it was exactly like "Chain Lightning". Would you have any idea what it was?
I’m not very sure what you’re talking about, but I’ll try to look for it. If I find it, I will let you know.
I think I know exactly what you're talking about, It was titled something like. "Graveyard Walk" I think.
@@SkeevyDaniel OK. So I'm not imagining. I think the video just had a picture of an old 45 record. Thanks for confirming. Still can't find it but...
THAT'S EARTHA KITT
409 is a Texas area code.
Ah shit I laughed at the mole car.
John Cone....whew.
Have you ever seen a squonk's tears?
Can you send links to the steely dan car commercial and the video with steely dan walking on stage????? 25:48
Here you go. I've included all of the existing commercials that I mentioned in the commercial as well as the silent Steely Dan footage, which is from early 1974. The footage cuts from the Dan to a different band about 24 seconds in but cuts back to them about at about 2:17. Also, a lot of the footage is just Skunk Baxter. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1TL_AKilMuJUmMd8ivBTexwaBEQMLTs-O?usp=sharing
Where can I find the audio for John Cone please? I don't have an uncle who works at Steely Dan.
Shhh... Don't tell mom drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/1f44RI6Nq2I7ifAdodxMgMFN9cPQD8na5

Rose Darling is about having an affair with your hand.
This is that crack.
11:16 so did Steely Dan write a song for Creed from The Office?
That small segment on the video of the Daddy Dont Live In That New York City No More demo with the slideshow of murder victims is creepy and ominous as fuck, why would someone do that. Like whoever decided to pair up the song and images, what is wrong with you
