- Hey! This guide discusses the brand new Eternal Calculus Light Cone that just released in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3. I go through how it works, who can use it, as well as how strong it really is. In this review I also go through the other Herta Shop Light Cones like Aeon, Stellar Sea, Texture of Memories, and Solitary Healing that never got a video. If the Herta Abundance cone actually has cleanse, i can see Bailu becoming competitive, especially to those who've gotten multiple copies of her (E4 is a Dmg% buff)
if you've gotten FIVE bailus i dont think you need her...
it would be a nice for her to get a cleanse somehow tho
@@jelyl five is ridiculous though. I got three and her light cone and thought I had it rough LMAO. She did carry me early game but Gallagher is just better for my teams now she was replaced sadly and I don't think there is any coming back
Depends, characters like aventurine and Gallagher provide more than just damage boost. Gal helps break and aventurine has his own follow-up damage and crit boost.
Even Lynx, a very early healer, is already better than Bailu because of her team-wide cleanse, and getting Gallagher's E2 can make him even better than Lynx in some teams, ESPECIALLY break teams, and there's also SP heavy teams since he's very SP positive and can generate a lot of SP for the team @@anasmostafa9894

That preservation lc is actually extremely good for fu xuan especially against high damage enemies. Against these enemies fu xuan absorbs so much damage and gets low pretty often and this lc really helps her. And not just in modes like moc or those rotational modes but in modes like divergent or swarm it really helps her survive when she doesn't have her charges and ult ready.
As a day one Fu Xuan enjoyer she got a lot of mileage out of it. But after getting her signature on her rerun it’s just gathering dust for the forceable future. Still was worth it for the time I had need of it

doesnt help the fact that when shes mitigating damage shes still mitigating the same amount of damage
i wouldnt say the lc is extremely good 😹
Personally I don't like the idea of using texture of memories in MoC, PF, or AS. Fu xuan already has a lot damage mitigation in her base kit. The only mode where i think it's comfy to use is in Swarm, Gears, or DU where enemies have inflated stats

Fire MC can do funny impractical overkill things with texture, the current content just isn’t big on tauntable attacks enough for them, but they’ll have their day eventually, probably.

Maybe somebody from the community can help me decide: I have aeon s5, hunt s5, and solitary s5, with an s1 texture on fuxuan. Stuck between either getting calculus, which seems to not be as great compared to s5 genius based on your vid, or just getting more bonds to s5 textures for a thicker fuxuan. Either those or save for possible future cones - i still don't have trends else i'd put that on fu
I'd say superimpose your texture of memories. Since it's gonna be your best option with what you have, you want it to be as a strong as possible for better sustaining.

I would go ahead and get the new light cone even if you don’t think you need it. You never know when you might pull a nice erudition unit and settle down with a decent light cone. That being said which light cone you want to spend Herta Bonds on after that is up to you…

If you really wanted a good Erudition lightcone, you would wait for Jing Yuan’s rerun, not waste 4 months farming for Eternal Calculus when you could’ve had an R5 Texture of Memories for your Fu Xuan

Glad I watched this video, coming back to Honkai after a long time and trying to play catch up has been a nightmare but I have been looking at Calculus for an option for Jade since I run a mainly Quantum and Imaginary account. Granted I have plenty of Herta bonds but still good information to have!

The new Erudition cone really feels like a 4*, at least it's not painfully niche I guess.
Like yeah, a potential 52% Atk boost a S5 is really nice, plus the 16% Spd is obviously good... But I don't know, I guess I just expected more from a 5^ considering Breakfast gives 24% Dmg and 24% Atk giving it fairly similar value in a lot of scenarios.
yeah it does especially since the potential attack boost is only for 1 attack, where as breakfast is permanent.

STRONG LIGHTCONES BUT SADLY CAN ONLY GET 1 COPY EACH
you need to switch Fall of Aeon to different Destruction Characters unless you pull for their Signature or at least get the gatcha destruction lightcone on the Signature banner
i have to get Firefly Signature to at least not switch Fall of Aeon between 3 Destruction characters
so im also going for Yunli's Signature Lightcone
im collecting 5 Star Destruction characters like Thanos collecting Infinity stones
only Quantum and Lightning Destruction left

Who are you trying to run? If you're running a double-destruction team, the 4⭐ Arlan Destruction Cone is pretty strong on a few characters. Namely, it's really good for Jingliu if you don't have her Signature. Otherwise, if you use a dual carry with only one Destruction, you should be fine not to worry too much.
Quinque is considered by some to be an "honorary" Destruction character but she's Erudition. We will get a Quantum Destruction someday :)

I actually found that Preservation LC can work well in niche Gepard teams, like with him and Clara together where you get great shields but with less of a chance of him agro stealing.
Also take all the time you need my guy. You put in so much effort, that you deserve the break to do what you need to do. You are loved.
I got Stellar Sea and Aeon to S5. I keep enough Herta bonds around for another S5 cone plus a cushion for emergencies, and spend the rest on passes. I have two copies of the Himecone so I don't need the Erudition one.
I might get the nihility one though. Guinaifen can be handy in PF sometimes and if this will help her, might be worth grabbing so thanks for the tip! Please take care!

Calculus is very underwhelming when considering the 2 better herta lcs have been there since day 1. Sure it doesnt need to be as strong as 5* banner lcs but giving us something a bit more universal would be nice.
Yeah its effects aren’t likely to happen in other game modes aside from pf, sure erudition is mainly for pf, but it would have been better if you could have used it on another game mode too
My E2 Lunae kinda needs on the fall so Firefly is gonna have to make do with Clara’s LC. Oh well.

I had enough herta bonds to buy all the superimpose stuff for the new cone, but I had a moment of dumb and accidentally bought the standard warp tickets. so now I'm stuck with waiting a couple months until I can S5 Calculus
When you say peaceful day do you consider it at S5 ? What happens if it is S2 or 3 cause i have it S2 and will soon make it S3 but i might not be able to get it more

Aeon is so good it makes signature destruction cones more valuable by allieviating pressure on it. At least I got a destruction one on Firefly's banner...

So basicaly, we should get The Hunt and Destruction ones, and save enough Herta bonds for when a potential Abundance and Harmony LC comes. Spend the rest of the Bonds in Permanent Banner pulls
Solitary Healing wouldn’t be bad to have for Guinafen or Sampo

Anything above that is just bonus. Eternal Calculus isn’t gonna magically make you start clearing PF and it’s not gonna give you a noticeable buff compared to other lightcones.
I think the destruction one is better on Clara than her Signature at S1. I am also curious if the upcoming Yunli LC can powercreep that for Clara. It just gives so much atk.

Herta + Himeko duo, who should use milky way and who should use calculus?
Regarding texture of memories I‘ve got to strongly disagree.
I have that lightcone equipped on my March and it made her survivability so much higher, especially in bossfights, that you don’t have optimized units for, since for example you are f2p or have just not yet pulled/ build the most optimal character for use.
In any case, my March has often been the last man standing, tanking entire bosses by herself, because simulated universe was just not kind with the buffs and extremely powerful chars like Acheron or Black Swan hadn’t been out then.
In any case, texture of memories allows my March to focus on shielding all the other units, without ever having to worry about herself, which works in a way that I can have a fully shielded team against critical attacks, without much loss of hp, also if March were left to be the only character on the field, even if she is out of ability points, temporarily frozen or afflicted with other ailments preventing her from actively shielding, she gets the passive ability shield from the lightcone, keeping her alive long enough to be able to apply another shield herself, in combination with her e6 healing her back up, it’s an incredible powerful combination and I dare say makes March the best user for this lightcone.
If you don’t actively use March you won’t need it for her sure, and on paper it may not seem as impressive, but having played with this combo since the beginning of the game before March was e6 and afterwards, she was one of my most trusted units, only switched out recently for using an Acheron dot team. I still use her quite often in my follow up attack teams though since she is an pretty neat allrounder.

For Herta specifically, what would be better? The Mirror of the Self or Eternal Calculus? And is Genius' repose just straight up better compared to both?

Solitary Healing is a solid choice for sampo isn't it?
His passive deals ton of DOT dmg and if used ult then the Dot dmg is increased.
Since this lightcone enchances Dot dmg when ult used

Personally, I’ve never liked Eru LCs all having a turn cooldown in the crit boosts. Makes choosing what I want on someone like Serval very difficult, even if I’d appreciate Genius’ crit buff for example

Would calculus be better for my jing yuan than serious breakfast light cone so far I can’t find a video comparing the two in a showcase yet
No, Jing Yuan isn’t a pure fiction character, so he’s not really gonna have 5 characters on field most of the time. Even if he does, most of his attacks are skill which only hit 3 enemies. The breakfast lightcone is better for him. (But cosmos is a free LC that’s better than both of them, go for that instead).
Idk the numbers, calculus MIGHT be slightly better in very niche scenarios but the conditions just aren’t something Jing Yuan can fulfill fully. You’ll only get the full buff after his follow up (assuming there are 5 opponents on field) but since his damage comes from his follow up, it’s kinda useless
@@levi3248well, both JY's Skill and Ultimate also damage all enemies. So he'd get the LC effects off those as well... In the few situations that he can get the full effect. But that still isn't really his use case.
@@someguy1ification yeah I forgot his skill was AOE, I thought it was blast haha. But yeah I still think the new MOC LC is better, especially bc yo I aren’t really gonna use him against non-lightning weak enemies so the condition should always be filled

My account was compromised a few months ago and they deleted the light cone from my inventory. Then I stopped playing until recently cuz i was upset lol.
My DHIL is now struggling without it, only option I have is the Clara Light Cone 😔
Ah, the S5 Texture debate for me. I've had Fu Xuan forever, and S5 Texture delivered my first MoC 12 victory when the team got wiped and Fu Xuan tanked the last 30% with her Ult triggering the MoC buff and blasting since Texture made her immortal. But that's niche and random, and I have a leveled S2 Gepard I'm sitting on. It's probably time to swap. Thoughts?
S2 gepard cone? Its really good on fu xuan
Gepard cone is comparable to her sig in terms of tankiness. Fu's sig just has 9 team wide dmg% as a advantage which frankly isn't large.

Hear me out, Acheron SUPAAHHHHHH BREAKUUUUUUU with that break effect nihility light cone😈
Fun fact: Lightning Break applies a DoT that activates the energy passive of the cone... but Acheron doesn't use energy, so this is completely useless for her.
Also note that not only does Fermata give a mere 8% less Break Effect while being in the Light Cone Manifest instead of the Herta store, it also gives 32% damage amp against any enemy that is currently Shocked. While this does NOT benefit Super Break itself, this does benefit Acheron's direct attack damage and damage dealt by the break-created Shock.
nahh the real question is who will get the aeon destruction LC bc of how good it is haha
