I could load either of those into the bed of my Ford Ranger. Well, the Pak Yak might be a bit long for that, but it'd definitely go in my '77 Camper Special. But weight wise, my Ranger could handle them.
Just wanted to point out that running the batteries nearly totally flat as you did in this video harms the batteries a lot... you probably won't get many charge cycles out of them if you treat them this way. I guess one should rather be looking out for a charger as soon as the vehicle starts noticeably losing power or slowing down, that way you'll get many more cycles. Still, with lead-acid batteries the cycle life is limited... if you're using most of the energy at each cycle, I think you're lucky if you get 100 cycles out of them before they severely degrade.
Not all lead acid batteries are the same. Some are deep cycle batteries, which, as the name implies, are designed to be fully discharged and recharged over and over again. They trade thin lead plates for thicker ones, which increases lifespan but reduces current output. But for this vehicle, I'd just swap them for lithium type batteries.
And btw, you can absolutely get the full 35-40mile range. Its all in how gast you accellerate with Electric cars. If you take 10 seconds to get to 30mph vs 20 seconds you will get alot more range just off that alone. Driving slower will also get you slightly more range.
Basically in the cold they have an effective range of about 15 miles. One can't use them beyond that because the maximum drops below the 30 mph speed limit and would be blocking traffic.
So small, you could drive side by side in a single lane. Looks like a fun golf cart to drive around the golf course. I have a family of 4, so definately not a dailly vehicle nor a utility vehicle. That truck couldnt carry my couch, maybe some groceries (but the closest grocery store is 22 miles away). The closest town has a grocery store 1 gas station, a dollar general, subway, a bank, a small police station. These are strictly for fun it appears.
Yeah, 22 miles is a bit far when you can’t go faster than 20 to 25 miles an hour. But it is great around town. We also have a four seater called the tank XL. You can check it out on our website electricimportmotors.com
@@electricimportmotors9058 Thanks for the quick reply. When you say half, do you mean the lithium pack has half the range, or double the range of the Lead Acid you tested here?
I see one has wide beach tires at the start of the vid can you do a beach drive to see if the elect motor can handle soft sand. and can you up spec to a larger motor for the wide wheel model. it would be perfect for beach clean ups if it is fully rust proofed first. I do remote beach cleaning and am looking for a vehicle back packers can drive safely with enough power not to bog. elect should be perfect, as torque is constant at all times, just needs to have some,so that is why I ask about motor upgrade.
@@electricimportmotors9058 sorry the wide wheel model was in previous vid , but truck a car wouldn't be mush use for picking up beach plastic flotsam and jetsam.
Lead Acid and has around 40 to 80Ah Can do around 40 Miles on one charge. In this test the car did around 20 miles which is not bad but since it was in a super cold environment it did worse. But for batteries to work better they need to be at an specific temperature especially around 60F to 80F,
Could design a retrofit optional pedalling drivetrain that can engage just before the electric motor that can be engaged with a lever or electro switch tiny actuator. It would sell as the growing number of vehicles increases over time as a safety solution rather than pushing it outside of the vehicle through the savagery of winter. Could even have 2ndary batteries that are aluminum sodium for affordable longevity. I completely dig these tiny vehicles, and want to encourage factory and aftermarket innovations for them specifically. We could generate a list of option recommendations from existing owners and potential owners. A proper micro camper insert for the little pickup truck would so rule!! Even ultralight micro towable campers similar to what motorcycles can tow. Then campers can break out the swiss army knife type of origami folding kitchen and full shower bathroom. These can fold or stack in the same way a thin collapsible cup works, or even be fabric based. I dare you to put EL glowing battery powered paint or vehicle wrap on one of them, full tinted windows, insulation, high end audio, fold down giant touchscreen, maybe throw a tiny laptop or other computer under the dash or seating, hit the dash with a nice padded vinyl and groovy custom seats etc. These small vehicles are perfect blank slates to work with for adding luxury to, and make for a fun reason to get out of the house or for grocery, and music store runs to keep supporting the arts that affect the sciences.
@@electricimportmotors9058 Let's 3d scan the vehicles, and upload copies for people to print off their 1/10 or other smaller scale versions for RC motorsports. I made a pedal electric car 20 years ago, full cabin, its very very similar to what is being sold today in design, however, my steering setup was absolutely too dangerous, so I parked it since in the garage. Was a real experience though, the making of a giant foam mold shaping it by eye. After that experience, it motivated me to make a cnc machine from scratch, to more easily shape molds of course lol. Now, Creality has a fairly decent cheap 3d scanner, and this is on my list of eventual aquisitions, then a vacuum forming table or venture into injection molding at hobby level. The way I see it, if Rubbermaid can produce a giant plastic bin for 10 bux new, for 20, it could even look like a carbody and be super easy to replace. A few hundred more, theres the framework, add from a choice of drivetrain solutions.
To drive on a state road yes, and it must have insurance, inspected, registered and have DMV VIN number not the Chinese VIN. Check your states general statute laws before buying one of these. I have checked some insurance companies and they will not insure utility LSV.
In theory higher altitude means thinner air which leads to less drag resistance, thus increasing range. But in reality the difference is so small that it’s hard to barely notice it.
no.. but ,when you live a small town. you go to your fram... you go fishhing you go to your grandmother there, no more gas... only 2000USD what do you think

Time for lithium upgrade! Solar roof panel perhaps.

The fact that i can use grampa's battery charger is a huge bonus.

I weigh 380 lbs, but I'd like a pak yak. Would it lug me around, or am I crazy for asking?
it would carry you no problem but it would be tight in the interior not a lot of extra leg and side room
These kinds of mini cars are quite commen in China, and extremly helpful

How does a "higher elevation" affect an electric vehicle's performance?
Not sure it does, probably does not just stating where we were.
It doesn't require oxygen like a regular car. Elevation doesn't matter.
