    Glad you had a opportunity to tour the factory. Most people do not know that they were the the original builders of Steiner tractors in the 70s. They made Steiner tractors until they sold it in the early 90s. I think they sold to Textron And then Textron sold to Jacobson, who then sold to another. In 1996 the original people who made and built Steiner opened up a new company Venture products. Ventrac was now built. The Ventrac has grown into a ultimate machine. The family owned business has been non stop perfecting the great tractor they first invented. Ventrac built a bigger, better tractor wirh bigger attachments. They never stop improving, And making better products. This video proves how great they are manufactured. I talk so highly because they are such great machines, Built right here in America, And family owned. If you ever used one you would be hooked. Another great video.

    Tim and Christie thanks so much for taking us with you on this tour of the ventrac factory. They seem like an awesome company to business with I like that they are family owned and looks like a quality built product. Do you know whos hydro transaxle unit they use. Is it a Hydro gear? With the versatility of the ventrac I think one would fit nicely in your lineup of equipment with all the different options and attachments available I have really impressed with them in some other videos I have seen I have seen someone put dual wheels on one and go thru basically what was a swamp in the winter with several inches of snow on the ground trying to get it stuck and it just kept going My first choice 0n the engine would be the diesel even if it is below 25hp I think with the torque of a diesel it would be fine on the gas engine its a toss up between the kawasaki and the kubota engines I run a lot of kawasaki's in my equipment and they give me great service and longevity. I'M hope we see one soon sitting in the garage with johnny and casey. On another note I saw kestrels video on instagram and have been following them on there trip thanks for sharing the link with me. Sorry to be so long winded. LOL Have a great day. God Bless!!!

    Your two (so far) Ventrac videos made me smile. I have been planning to buy one for our very hilly property in NC. It appears to be a wonderful company and a great machine. I am always amazed when people try to compare a Ventrac to a sub compact tractor. They are mostly different machines with much different strengths. I can’t imagine a better combination, Johnnie & a Ventrac 4500, to complete the type of jobs you do. I’m guessing they would complement each other, with very little overlap, giving you greater capability in what you can do.
    One of the greatest strengths of the Ventrac is its ability to safely mow steep slopes. Do you have that need in your area? One of the other great strengths is it’s ease of operation. Currently, I end up doing most of the work on the property because it’s uncomfortable for others to manage the slopes. With the Ventrac I anticipate I will have to fight for seat time! Great video, looking forward to more!

    Most people much ordinary sub compact tractors, like Johnny, which isn't conceptually different from a Kubota or NH. I think it is good for most of them but it is also nice so see machines like Ventrac which doesn't fit into that concept and instead makes something different. If you know what you tasks you will use the machines for there probably are some unique selling points for Ventrac.

    Please help me with the engine questions, I'm not a brand snob, horsepower ratings seem to be close enough to not truly make any difference.(?), the cost differences are small enough to not be a factor in the purchasing decision of a 4500 Tractor (?),
    - which engine is the most reliable for four-season use? (Weather and temp extremes)

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Tom. The Kubota gas is the most powerful. The diesel is the most fuel efficient. The Kawasaki gas is my favorite if budget is primary concern. Does that help?

    • @TCSkiFilms
      @TCSkiFilms 5 лет назад

      @@TractorTimewithTim great help. Thanks... last question how big of a price difference can there be between the Kawasaki and the Kubota Engine considering the overall cost of the investment? That would be a head-scratcher to me.

    • @JosephGreenleaf
      @JosephGreenleaf 3 года назад

      I just took delivery of my new 4500Y. The Y means Kubota diesel. This is the third machine I've had with the Kubota diesel engine, and I find it to have a great deal of torque and reliability. I have several other diesel-powered pieces of equipment, so specializing in diesel makes sense. diesel fuel is not nearly as volatile as gasoline, and it does not go bad as quickly. I can buy marked ("red") Diesel for about 25 cents less than a gas station. It cannot really be used in an on-road vehicle. I am very impressed with the Ventrac. I have stalled it a couple times on steep hills, one being 27°. That's very exciting because the only brake you then have is the handbrake. I was mowing in 3-ft high, wet grass and just was too much for it, going uphill. Once I got it restarted and turned around it sliced through it.

I know plenty of people that have tried them... however that Kawasaki engine is a great engine and last forever ..also the need to have helper springs to pick stuff up doesn’t impress me at all,, it just tells me the hydro pump is under sized and doesn’t have the GPM to handle the work it does ...not impressed...

    that is one thing i dont like is anything belt drive, everything i have had in all makes of lawn tractors attachments that had a main belt off the pot always never lasts, i went to all drive shaft off the pto, the belts on the mower eck hold up but the gear box is drive shaft, i had a tiller and a front mount 5 foot snow blower attachments an tractor that was belt off the pot always belt blows so soon, went to drive shaft and secondary drive chain

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  6 лет назад

      The interesting thing is that the original Tractor from the Ventrac family had a shaft drive. They moved away from it for some reason.
      My theory is that like everything else on the tractor, they go with what works best rather than what is ‘cool’.
      We had no problems with the belt, and it IS very easy to hook up.

    • @arnoldromppai5395
      @arnoldromppai5395 6 лет назад

      being working in the mfg business all my life, why they change things most of the time, is to cut costs, same as they do with cars and truck, metal gets thinner with every passing 5 years, more and more plastic, just like this tractor i am sure the frame was once built with heaver steel then 10ga,, my little tractor is all 1/4", think about it, it is lifting the bucket of durt and pushing into it... you see 1/8 in box store units and thiner

    • @arnoldromppai5395
      @arnoldromppai5395 6 лет назад

      the belts i do use i no longer buy from the dealer, for one they cost a ton of money and dont last, i buy all mine from a bearing supply chain, for a few bucks and they last, if they fail in the fist 12 months they replace it free of charge, no dealer will do that on there $100 belt

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  6 лет назад

      Sometimes that cost cutting is not a bad thing. Better engineering / design tools allow designers to optimize the design using less steel, but more strategically positioned to make the design stronger. This is definitely happening in light duty trucks.
      It is easy to get discouraged about so called ‘cost cutting’, but the net result is a less expensive product for the end customer. This allows more ‘average folks’ to have access to advanced products. This is economics working in our favor.

    • @JosephGreenleaf
      @JosephGreenleaf 3 года назад

      My Ventrac is brand new so I obviously don't have any experience with the belts. I have another grader that has shear pin bolts. I buy them seven at a time. Individually they are $15 each and I have gone through several in a single day. What I was told by the Ventrac dealer was the belts replaced the direct drive and accompanying shear pins. If it hits an obstruction, the belt slips and then goes onward after you go around the obstruction, instead of stopping to get the toolbox out and changing the shear pin.

      So far so good on this one. They are continuing to invest. We saw a nice tractor update last year, and we have seen many new attachments.
      I think Ventrac may be fine.

      Careful guys. Let’s not get too political. No one can argue that we are in a boom time right now. Let’s hope it continues and gets even better. Ok?

    • @barelystablefarm7151

      Sorry, not trying too be political, but just stating facts. The last time a new steel plant was opened was 32 years ago, and many of them going out of business. Today, 7 new plants have opened or are in the process of opening. This is the effect of screwed up trade agreements that nobody had the balls to undertake, until now. We’ll be just fine.
