Do not bullshit people. No one can steel the star and the support as well. It is just impossible. If someone want to steal the star it will break at the base. The only way is to fit an anti theft star as I did. The way you fit the new one cleary show you have no clues on this cars 😓
Hm. If you say so. I am no expert for sure. But as you can see, all was gone except the clamp. I assume the ornament had not been fixed properly. Saying I would bullshit anybody is not ok.
@@olafsoldtimer I have been working on older Benz for many years and anyone knowing these cars will tell you exactly the same. If the base is gone, it is simply because someone had access to the bonnet, opened it and then removed the entire emblem. Any other solution is simply impossible
See here for a video showing how to do it right: ruclips.net/video/ztztimeQ0BE/видео.html These hood stars are actually quite simple to install IF you know what you are doing. You just drop 'em in from the top, then lift the hood and get underneath and pull down with a pliers (using the car's own bonnet for leverage from above) and twist the contraption 90 degrees, so the two "claws" come off their perches and hold to the underside of the car. Takes seconds. In your case, Olaf, you pulled and twisted the unit while it was still in your hand (at 3:20). You should have done that only once it was in the bonnet. I request kindly that you please delete this video and re-do once you know how to do it right, as this one currently wastes all our time. 😕 Thank you and good luck!
