LS cars are just so cheap to make fast. Heads/Cam and a tire and you are running low 7s in the 1/8th. GM definitely did something right with them. With that said I can't see myself ever owning any GM but a V.
JustinJC ls cars are not cheap at all now fords are the cheap one but not ls cars their aftermarket products would cost you but gm product responds well with the aftermarkets you get your bang for the buck they its all well worth it let alone like you said they are running hard fresh out the box from the dealership

Yep, those WS6's were really nice looking cars, I think one of the best ever produced, very well built also, I've been road racing my 93 Camaro for over 30 years and 250 thousand miles, still looks and drives better than the day I picked her up from the dealership.

@@tylerfabish5578 ls cars are notorious for pulling hard in 3rd. Back in the ls1 days the turbo AWD 4 bangers could hang till 60 or so but the top end of the ls1 puts a hurt on them after they get to 3rd/4th

thomas H I've been in the Viper scene, for over 15 year's now. With that said, Vipers come with a lot of restrictions from the factory that once you get the car breathing better, it's a world of difference. Not that a modded Viper will win every race but it's an excellent platform for speed especially the GenV models which come with a forged bottom end making it great for boosted applications like the Gen1/2 models.

I'm gonna call BS on this one. Viper is gonna be about 3500lb with a driver, and 450 crank hp 500 crank torque. trans am 320hp crank 350 torque crank, and about 3550, 3600lb with driver. Stock for stock, the trans am is gonna be down 130hp and weighs a little more. So to pull on the viper, you're telling me headers cams and intake are giving over 130 hp extra? Someone isn't telling the full story here.

Got a set of plates from 1998 and just waiting till I can get historical vehicle status and then register plates to that car and never have to mess with plates again... I've owned it for 23 years and wouldn't trade her for the world....oh yeah...and the previous owner was Anheuser-Busch Inc. Not sure why they bought it ...but none the less interesting..Have a good one!!
You realize many civics can be tuned to be faster than the WS6 right.... you want a junk box that will blow up, customize them. Viper was fast from the factory.

I do realize that rice burners can be tuned and modded and so on and so on ...as can any car ...for real....cones down to money ...how much you wanna spend... I'm just saying...its a viper...you would expect more... Kinda like the fox body stangs ...5.0. Runs great ..snappy...strong running...but.. Just not as quick as the 350 chevy was using for a power plant ...they had some legs on them ..would just pull away on the big end ...cost about 10k to get that stang to outperform the 350 ..cam..exhaust headwork..and every bolt on you can imagine...I should know ..i was that guy..had about 7 mustang from a 65 as second car ..and the 89 .90..91..93..95 ..00..love the mustang ...fun to drive....but . if you can't beat them join them...so I did...enter the ws6 ...cam ...pacesetter long tubes...slp exhaust ..stall.. shift kit.....FUN...ive rambled on long enough...but you get what I'm saying?? I grew up when the viper was thought of as the ultimate American street performance car..and to see something like that is a kick to the balls of that memory...... For that matter a L98 3rd Gen or LT1 4th Gen is too, just have to live with a 305 or swap the 700R out for a T-56M with 3rd Gen

The ls6 block is the same as a regular ls1 block. Ls6 has better cam and valves from the factory. Bottom end is exact same
