i danced for them. never forgot how it felt, being two feet away from Bobby as he played for four hours straight AND I spent the entire weekend at his side.
I never wanted to be front and center I was back were there was room to dance didn't matter if I could see them as long as I could hear and had room to dance.
Hi - I'm the 'righteous lady' on stage right next to Pigpen, and I fine and happy in Portland, Oregon. The other dancer, the blonde on the other side of the stage, is a woman named Maryann Mayer, who also was a photographer who photographed the Dead's Europe '72 Tour for them.
@@rosiemcgee2265 Holy you're alive! So am I, honored to have found you on YT....in 1969 at Porchester Capitol Theater i hooked up with Bobby. How amazing it felt to be accepted as one of the friends of GD. I'm living better because of my memories. Hope life treated us all kindly. Nothing has ever felt as good as being 19 with the Grateful Dead as friends
this is essentially the GD at their peak, sounds like a mad science experiment , they became better musicians and songwriters later , but later their music and art was less good.
Micky left the group not long after this, his father was the manager of the band and took $80,000 from the band. Micky left the band only to return before UK1972. I saw them at New York's Felt Form 5/5/1971 only Bill K. He sooned returned, The band did'nt want him to leave, it was not him that took the Money, it was his dad.
Mickey left the band in February of '71 and wasnt on Europe' 72 tour or any other in '73 or'74. He finally played with them on their very last Winterland '74 show before their official hiatus/breakup. That Winterland '74 run of 5 shows from October 16-20 has been immortalized in "The Grateful Dead Movie."
