    Not anymore, best time was set today at 29.921 by Gobindar i think... BUT your videos have been helping a lot man!

      Yes you're correct the lap record was broken by Gobindar today on 11/13/23. Tough luck as I held the record for 4 years lol. Gonna need a lot more seat time if I want to have another shot at beating it. He's the fastest guy at K1 Toronto right now so I'm happy to pass the throne to him.

    For track records at Autobahn Manassas (my home track) its about the braking on the one hairpin and not countersteering.

    Hi. Really appreciate your video! I checked K1 speed official website that they no longer allow gopros or any other videotaping device on-track. Is this true and do you have any suggestions about where to mount the GoPro? Thanks

      @dawsoncampbell  2 года назад

      Thanks! You can wear gopro on your helmet or they have camera rentals too.

    What kart numbers did you find best for these time trials?? i swear some of the karts here are slightly slower than others.

    • @dawsoncampbell
      @dawsoncampbell  9 месяцев назад +1

      You need to be a regular to find which karts are fastest. But off the top of my head, kart 3, kart 7, kart 9, kart 30 are all great karts. Just need to adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of each kart.

      @@dawsoncampbell thanks man, would appreciate that a lot. I managed to hit 21 a couple of times but I've regressed lately. I remember the one thing I did do successfully when I hit 21 is do a late apex/compromise the entry on the second hairpin to build more speed for the longer stretches. I can't seem to do that anymore. Not sure how I did the turn in that time. Also, someone hit a 20.5 there recently which is pretty insane if you ask me.

    Is there any tips on how to not get traffic on a lap, or is it just based on luck?

    • @dawsoncampbell
      @dawsoncampbell  2 года назад +5

      great question. Look behind you and if there is space, slow down! Especially if you just want 1 fast lap. no need to go all out for the whole thing.

    Would you say this line is still the fastest way around the track? I heard some guys getting 22.0 recently without braking. And when I talked to them they were saying to not brake and also go fully wide next to the barrier before turn 6?

    • @dawsoncampbell
      @dawsoncampbell  9 месяцев назад +1

      Still the fastest way around the track. You can go all the way to the outside before turn 6 but I find the kart unsettled and hops in the middle of the corner. Definitely using my brakes to avoid hopping. It would be different if the karts actually slid sideways but they don't slide, they just go over the limit and hop, killing your momentum. I did a 22.2 on my last visit a few weeks ago.

      @dawsoncampbell between turn 2,3 and 4, you let off twice or once?

    • @dawsoncampbell
      @dawsoncampbell  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@hellakray8514 twice. 1st time to get it turned in for 2. And 2nd time to get it turned in to 3, although I've heard lots of people are flat out through 3.

    • @hellakray8514
      @hellakray8514 9 месяцев назад

      @dawsoncampbell at what point do you let off and brake for turn 6? From what I saw in the vid, you let off adjacent to the apex of turn 5 but not sure when you brake for turn 6? Is it during the turn in and how strong do you brake?

    • @dawsoncampbell
      @dawsoncampbell  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@hellakray8514 as soon as I let off, I'm on the brakes. Usually very gently for that corner cause I don't want to slide and end up hopping.
