      @BlackDeathViral03 They didn't have a great offense. They had the best offense ever. And no Gase didn't "hOlD tHe PlAyBoOk", he wrote it. Peyton played a lot of years, and there have been and still are a lot of great QBs, but only one greatest offense ever statistically, and Adam Gase created it.

    • @LucasFerreira-cq8qz
      @LucasFerreira-cq8qz 4 года назад

      Gase was a tremendous OC and QB coach, but not every coordinator can become a good HC, It's a whole different task and role. For years and years we saw brilliant offensive and defensive minds who turns to be terrible HCs, some of them just doesn't have the mindset or the leadership to be successfull at HC in NFL.

    • @theenhancer
      @theenhancer 4 года назад +2

      @@MattW-ro2kz I think it's some serious hyperbole to call that offense "the greatest offense ever". This is the same offense that got stopped cold by the Legion of Boom in the Super Bowl. You could definitely call it record setting with all the single season milestones they reached in this pass-happy league. While still very good, they couldn't replicate their success the following year.

I’ve always believed in his ability but I have been worried about whether an entire season of being bum rushed the second he drops back almost literally every single time would make him a better player or just traumatize him into playing panicky. I feel more confident it’s gonna be the former and not the latter after watching this.

      In the Jets defense they’ve acquired more then 6+ offensive linemen through the draft and free agency, in the last two years, including their first round pick in this years draft. So it isn’t necessarily for a lack of effort, offensive line is an incredibly difficult job, and generally it’s more dependent on good coaching. Look at most of the top lines in the NFL, there’s generally only one maybe two first round picks on the same line, save for Dallas because Jerry loves dominant o-lines. I wouldn’t say rebuilding teams haven’t learned imo, more so it’s really hard to find guys to block the most athletic players on the field, pass rushers even average ones are freak athletes.

He gets more excuses than any player i have ever seen in the media who hasnt ever been good. Orlosky had him as the number 1 QB who has came out of the draft the past 3 years and wasnt trashed for it. He was trashed for having him number 1 but everyone said he should be 3-4. He shouldnt be top 6. Darnold has been BAD in the nfl and looks the exact same he did in college with his mistakes.
      When you look at how the media talks about Allen and Darnold it's disgusting. You can tell the media is promoting their pre draft rankings. Allen has been way better as a pro than Darnold but the media gives ALL the credit to the bills staff and ALL the blame to Darnolds staff

      Allens decision making and ball placement is way better than Darnolds (short and midrange). Even darnolds completions his WRs have to spin around. Allen utilized his playmakers
      YPG and CPT are meaningless stats. Literally if we threw 4 more screens or if Dawson had 5 less drops (he had ten) Allen wouldve been in the 63%. YPG is more of a correlation to his deep ball struggles. Literally that and staying in the pocket is what seperates Allen from being a top 10 QB. He was 6th in the nfl in touchdowns last year and hes. But its also a correlation to how many times he threw. Hes never thrown 40 passes and even 30 rarely happens. So his yards will be smaller, but Allen has had chances to fix that. He just needs to work on deep ball placement
      Thats actually the only thing Darnold is way better at. If allen had Darnolds deep ball placement he would be a top 10 QB

    Adam Gase never follows a script it seems. Every football team I’ve been apart of in my life has always done opening drive scripts, and for some reason Gase doesn’t want to do that? Every play call seems so uncalculated with receivers not knowing what to run/running routes not confidently, linemen miscommunications, and more. It’s bizarre

      I would say Adam Gase does script the opening drives. If you noticed last season the jets offense for some reason throughout the season was very good on the opening drive but would usually fizzle out as the game went on. I actually think Gase has a good script for games, his problem is just that he cannot adjust AT ALL. Once the defense makes changes, Gase does not adjust well.

    Literally no sense in letting JD make all these solid offseason picks yet we got a SCRUB HC

      I mean Gase does have a winning record with his QB1 in play. Plus after starting 1-7 the team didn't give up and they finished 7-9, which says a lot about his ability to keep the guys together. Jury is still out on Gase if you're smart, if you're dumb you think he's the worst HC ever cause of the patriots game.

  • @Aryeh487
    @Aryeh487 4 года назад

    I think Gase is a horrible coach but what the GM is doing there is amazing. Fantastic draft this year with some huge steals. Overhauled the Oline in FA and have provided him with the weapons for success. He needs a true alpha receiver and I hope thats next on their list. I am a big believer that young QBs need a good Oline before they can really show who they are. Without it builds bad habits and fear of pressure especially in the first years of NFL playage

    • @MattW-ro2kz
      @MattW-ro2kz 4 года назад

      Mims definitely has potential to be that Alpha receiver.

  • @MmmHi
    @MmmHi 4 года назад

    If his o line is at least middle of the pack (top 15ish) I think he will do better. His weapons scare me. Perriman is unknown to me. Mimms is a rookie so cut him some slack. Even though I can see mimms getting 600-700 yards. I like Herndon and Crowder . I want to see Gase use bell way more.Gase scares me and If he isn’t the answer then I want someone like Eric Bienamy in the building .

    I feel like too many NFL teams take a QB too early in their rebuild, and then it falls apart and it gets blamed on the QB rather than the coaching/OL/WR

    Darnold is ok. I don’t think he’s good but I certainly wouldn’t say he is bad. He just seems like a very average QB to me and will sometimes play beyond that level and sometimes below. He was 7-6 last year and threw for 3k yards in 13 games, that’s decent, but ultimately his play will never carry his team, his play will reflect how strong his team is. If you already have a strong team, Darnold is a solid option, if your team is built relying on the qb to make clutch throws and big plays then Darnold is not the answer

      Because one elevated his offense and the other didn't. The Jets averaged less than 8 PPG without Sam, and almost 20 with him. Whereas the Skins were better with Case in than they were with Dwayne. Dwayne is also far less athletic and not half the improviser of Sam.

    Something else to keep in mind besides age when looking at his development is the fact he received ZERO coaching at 'SC. The abysmal draft #s under that bum helton would attest to as much. Darnold is a gamer. All the talking heads in the media who love to create drama for the sake of clicks & views, ala the "ghost game" who thinks this kid gets easily rattled should be forced to spend a season behind that embarrassment of a line left as a parting gift by m. mac.

    Dude went to overtime against a not great at the time Texas team
    Didn't seem to exactly inspire his teammates, now, I am a Notre Dame fan so there is bias, but when looking at going to the NFL I try to take all the bias out of what I see
