You should make an opposite of this: A curved line going through a straight hole. I don't know how you'd do it but you could figure it out. PS your videos are awesome!
Dude, you make some high quality videos! Can you also explore some other things besides 3Dprinting? Similarly to your 'Slimmest Wallet' video? Obviously this is a primarily 3Dprinting channel, but it's also a 'Make Anything' channel, and you seem to have some pretty awesome hobbies.
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel if I payed you would you be able to make me this and one of your other creations like the led light with the white circle?
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel it would also be very cool to try design a three way 3D impossible triangle, so that the three triangles make a pyramid
i use solid works at school in my engineering program but the teacher only taught us the basic 3D modeling techniques (sketch in x,y,z plane, extrude, revolve, spline and assembly of parts) and i want to learn how to use the other more complex features. i would like to know where you learned solid works and how i can advance in it. i can only do so much with what i know.
Yet another top video! If I can suggest, can you come up with a model that is only possilbe via 3D priting? I would like to know the complexity and the full scope of 3D printing. Great Video.
I go straight from Solidworks to my slicer (makerware or Simplify3D). I've learned to design parts that won't fail by avoiding intersecting faces and things like that. Solid modeling tends to fail less than STLs designed in Rhino, Sketchup, or Blender, etc...
how do you figure out all of this stuff for the 3D printer? im really interested in getting one but i honestly dont think i'd be able yo figure out how to print stuff on it, it seems like you have to be really smart to work that kind of stuff
Brianna c: it took a lot of hard work to get to my level, but you can always start off printing other people's designs or doing simple things. if you never start you'll never become a master :)
I googled soildworks but I found like 6 flavors, which one is used here? and how much cost?, I use openSCAD for now, please reply, thanks!, and cool video!
Watching you make the gears made me think of something: Can you make the Clock Tower from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask in Solid Works then slowly 3D print it in pieces to make a to scale version of it that can work like it does in game?
hey so I was just curious I am trying to make this as a high school project in an engineering and while your video is great is lacks some explanation. I tried finding the files on the link in the comments but I couldn't find it. is there anywhere else I can find the blueprints and directions?
Sorry if I wasn't elaborate enough, I made this from scratch so I don't have any blueprints, but you can download the complete model from the link in the description. Or just experiment!
bryce abele DO YOUR OWN WORK! Mr H will destroy you cheating fools! (haha im jk good luck on your project. i had to make a scooter the other day.. it looked horrible. had some pretty nice wheels tho..)
Hi it’s me again I’m almost finish making this and I’m having trouble getting the pole to stay in place. I tried glue and changing the scale do you have any ideas?
I downloaded your model for this and the bearing is way to big when I download it so I was wondering if you could give me the correct measurements or the correct model
That's odd, it comes in at the right size for me... I'd guess you're somehow importing just that STL with units set to inches instead of mm? The correct dimensions are 11.8mm x 11.8mm x 6mm
Ruben Denolf Yeah, it isn't Free. But Fusion 360 (nearly simalar programm) is Free for education purpose(Not easy to find). I downloaded that, and it works good!
Hi Devin. I finally found time to work on this on SolidWorks. I made some changes to the gear system(created gears with proper ratio in assemby rather than creating from scratch) and also the outerbody to reduce the weight and optimize it. I did not get to the final version yet. I wanted to bring to your notice if it is alright for me share my version on GrabCad. I have credited you and provided a link to the original product. grabcad.com/library/poleellipse-puzzle-illusion-1. If, at any point, you feel I should not share it then please let me know. :)
I know this is an old video but can you sell me one?? I really want one I could send you a few dollars thru mail or to a po box. You could just send it to my home address that would be amazing
Great job on this!
You should make an opposite of this: A curved line going through a straight hole. I don't know how you'd do it but you could figure it out. PS your videos are awesome!
you just put a curved stick, and a straight hole.. its pretty easy :P
I'm stupid as all hell so I have no idea what you're doing half the time but I find you addicting to watch.
amsayyy me af 😂
amsayyy yo saaaaame
I'm also stupid. Checking in.
i just did a "Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel" video marathon. I just watched all of your videos. these are amazing
The Vsauce DING channel brough me here.

Thanks! Nowadays I tend to use my 3D printer for everything, but I'll make sure to document any other cool non-printed projects I come up with :)
i have a question is that link an actual product or is a file of the product
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel thanks
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel if I payed you would you be able to make me this and one of your other creations like the led light with the white circle?
d
Excellent walkthrough! It was interesting watching the whole procedure. Nicely done man!
sometimes im thankful for being in accelerated geometry because without that I would have no idea what he's talking about sometimes
Ryans Milk YOUR USERNAME I'M YELLING
Ryans Milk noooo not milk!!! y u did this to me!!😭
You should make this again with a smol motor so you can switch it on and have it go endlessly
True... that could be very cool
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel it would also be very cool to try design a three way 3D impossible triangle, so that the three triangles make a pyramid
Make Anything 3-D print a Rubiks cube
Make Anything please
Thx for putting in so much hard work in making this video
can't believe you don't have more subscribers, especially after that captain disillusion nod.
that's such a cool fidget toy!
thanks for the files
Ok but did nobody notice the end of this video
Lame OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT
I scrolled down while the end was playing, heard a weird noise and saw *that*.
Great job on this 👏
Great channel! Love the creativity and your super good at Solidworks!😱
"I try to respond to all serious comments"
*edits that outro*
The first make anything vid I watched

Wonderful!!!
really nice
u should add more curved holes

Thanks, I've got things coming up that are in that realm :)
Looking forward to it! On a side note, what software do you use for testing your STLs? Or do you directly print it from SolidWorks?

Woah why are you so smart? I had to really concentrate to get how it works haha (maybe because I'm not a native English speaker, but still)
Which Printer did you use?
neat!
cool project :D
nice video! :)
How did you print the pole🤔
I have one question. why do you make everything in one part isn't it easyer to make a assembly? sry for my english.
+belgianbulletmc i find it easier to do it within one part unless it's very complicated, because I don't have to switch between parts
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel ok tnx for the response you earnd a sub
Hi it’s me again I’m almost finish making this and I’m having trouble getting the pole to stay in place. I tried glue and changing the scale do you have any ideas?
Great! I'll try this using Fusion 360
Hey Devin, congrats, you got featured on a video of DONG (VSauce)
I came from there
Spooky end
I downloaded your model for this and the bearing is way to big when I download it so I was wondering if you could give me the correct measurements or the correct model

ok thankyou
good job :)
you should just copy the file and put it in the desc so people can download it from there if they want to do the same thing
How did you print the pole and witch file did you use upright or regular.
I used to print regular, but found upright with supports and a brim usually prints cleaner
its the whole hole pole illusion tutorial
How much does this software cost? I only found that it is not free, no specific price
Ruben Denolf
Yeah, it isn't Free. But Fusion 360 (nearly simalar programm) is Free for education purpose(Not easy to find). I downloaded that, and it works good!
bushing, i get those confused when im talking about them too
i have a question is that link a actual product or is a file ?
just the file, for now :\
why don't you use inventor?
when are you posting a new video? like, is it one video each week?
i shoot for once a week!
ahh icic uhh but cud u make more videos? I REALLY LOVE THEMM its so cool
I use solid works for my engineering class at my high school
Harrison Martin do you know Mr H? -_-
That is very sytisfiying
Can you get solidworks for free??? ( like a student version )
You make math fun lol
just had a we printed as before this. the prusa i3 mk2
you're so smart
im not gonna watch it again, because of that ending...
look at that like to dislike ratio... i wish i could do that
I came from D!ng
where are your fingers

That's quite alright! I'd have done the gears properly too if I knew how >.< Thanks for the heads up
You can check out this website : grabcad.com/library
Some people post gears that are "controlled" with equations.
By the way I love your work !
You a so cool
You should sell these lol.
he is selling those...
can you sell me one of these plzzzzz
Wait, what?
Why do we need to pay for this ****!
R- Obert stupid you don't make things immediately
i hate solid works I used it when I did technology course and I hated it it never worked right
I adore u
100 comment!
I know this is an old video but can you sell me one?? I really want one I could send you a few dollars thru mail or to a po box. You could just send it to my home address that would be amazing
I'm making a few for my Etsy store, but I they take some time and sell quick
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel thanks!
