Not waterproof?! Sorry, but there's just no way I'm spending my hard-earned money on an amplifier that can't be used in the bath tub.
Bruh it has a 1/4 hole on the side
Hes kidding lll@@Anthonybrother
I don't need one, but I want one.
Just got mine and it sounds great with tons of versatility by the looks of it. Amazing software! This will be the perfect travel amp.
I literally watched you play 3 chords and purchased this immediately.
How was it?
How is it
just got mine yesterday. IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, TOO USEFUL
Sounds significantly better when EQ'd to the guitar you are using. Great amp for practicing or doing some improv along with a track (using the bluetooth functionality).
How do you do this? The only EQ function I can find is an EQ pedal or the EQ senario function, is this what your talking about?
Saw and heard it used live at a big show was very convincing
It has a rubber rest thing at the side you can use, so you can prevent the cable making it fall over or use a wireless system.
Not seeing the rubber rest thing.
This a perfect amp at the beach, around a campfire, having a drink on a balcony or wherever else and jamming out…I’m receiving mine on Monday can’t wait to try it out! Also you don’t need a cable If you have a wireless kit it’s even better!
How do you like it so far?
@@multigreenman1238 love it!
@@The_Rude_French_Canadian nice to hear! Is it loud enough for an average size room?
@@multigreenman1238 Oh yeah more than enough! it’s surprising louder than I expected. It’s not gonna replace my spark 40 but you can jam along to music or with other people with their amps at normal volumes and not get drowned out. Only thing is the sound is directional (neighbours surely appreciate that) so you really have to “aim” it at yourself but it really sounds great. I really wish this existed when I first started playing guitars in the 90’s lol having thousands of great sounding pedals and amps in this little thing is crazy lol
@@The_Rude_French_Canadian fuck yes. It definately sounds too good to be real but we are in the future already. Im thinking to get something bigger when I'm more confident in my abilities. What's the next step? A guitar with an integrated amp and speaker xD that's gonna be fun. Thanks for the reply! You just settled my choice :)
It’s so much fun. I have the 40 in my jam space but I take the GO in my backpack to work to jam while I wait of my ride home Or to my bedroom to jam while I watch tv. It’s a huge motivator to Jam and practice more often
I think that amp sounds great. I remember back in the early 90's using that Marshall micro half-stack battery operated amp, and it was hot garbage, as was all those "pocket amps." Technology has come a long way. I'm sure you'd have to have some presets geared more toward a small speaker, instead of using the same ones you'd use on the bigger Sparks.
Back then I tried one of those Marshall micro stacks trough a 4x12 (just plugged the headphone out into the cab) and it sounded pretty dope!
@@redscreentrombone4685 This loser is spamming this entire section. I wouldn't expect this guy knows much about guitar gear let alone audio.
This amp is super small and sounds great for what it is - a portable smart amp with a great user interface and community support ecosystem, all for $100-$150 (if you pre-order vs paying later).
I think its sounds great for what it is, and its feature rich. Compared to the Fender Micro and Mighty Nuxx - the user interface to me kills those for the same price on all levels.
I remember those crappy Smokey mini amps that advertised it could “power” a full 4x12. I mean, they could but it had no controls and horrible dirty sound. Ended up getting one as a free add on when I bought my 2nd amp back in 2002 (a Crate GFX-212). I saw no point in having a little Smokey amp, was not a pleasant sound.
This thing is Awesome!
I too am a survivor of the "Stone age" of portable guitar amp nightmare..had the Tiny Fender, marshall, arion "Hotwatt", Sholz Rockman, even made my own with a homemade distortion box and an old cassette walkman. Solid state garbage!😖😆
Also, had the Roland cube, the boss, Yamaha thr, and I'd rather have this more than any of them.
just received my Go less than a week ago, and I Love it!
Had the problem with it tipping over or getting pulled off the table so I got a very inexpensive wireless off of Amazon and now I can lay on the bed and have the Go on the night table and not even think twice about it falling over.
So, a wireless is recommended.
The Spark GO is definitely one of THE best purchases that I've made in a long, long time.
For an ultra portable thing it sounds more than good enough. I'd probably still use my Roland Micro Cube over this in a battery situation, but it is fantastic for its size!
I have both a micro cube and the spark go, and I am selling my micro cube. It may have more headroom, but the Spark is better in virtually every way.
@antimattah since writing this I haven't touched my cube in a hot minute, and will probably end up getting a Spark lol
@@jamesl5550 hell yeah haha. I mean, my microcube was a trooper and held its own for a long time. But you can't argue with an amp you can clip to your belt. THE FUTURE IS AMAZING
@antimattah haha true it paid its dues and then some. Yeah I'm really excited about the future of gear, I mean hell, I mostly use amp sims on the daily and they're pretty much like the real deal. Who knows what will be next...
I purchased one and use it for practising. For making noise i use it with an iLoud Speaker. Massive 8-)
I love it.
Simply use a right angle input into the amp and that will greatly reduce the problem of the amp being "top heavy".
Have the OG Spark 40. Was disappointed I could not use previous positive grid presets right away. Ended up using it as a BT speaker mostly. But, it still gets some use. This little thing isn’t that damn bad for being a tiny thing! Honestly pretty useful. Good demo of it not mic’d up!
I really think the sound coming out of this thing is pretty awesome.. great job !
see ladies. SIZE DOESN'T MATTER ;)
@@creamwobbly It's impressive for how small the speaker is, but I wouldn't say it's great quality
Plus you're listening to it through a camera recording
Thanks for the un-mic'd demo Ola... great stuff! I pre-ordered it last month, still waiting, but I am patient.
Did you like it?
Listening to the sound of this video through the speakers of the full size spark.
You need to have two bluetooth connections. One for the Spark and one for the Spark Audio. After this, you can play audio from your phone in Spark GO and jam.
Let's [Positive Grid Spark] go!
Damn nice review. Love your style man. I did the pre order last month and still waiting to get mine. I use the Nux wireless pods and also a little FM transmitter that I used to have for my old iPhone. Let’s me play wirelessly through my 60’s hi-fi stereo system. Can’t wait to have this smaller option so I can jam through my truck system on road trips!
Thanks brother for keeping it real.
I'm sure in person it doesn't sound horrible, but thru the video and from my phone this just sounds like amplitude. Not horrible, but not good unless you love muddy.
I can't wait to get mine. Love that I'll be able to warm up before a show. Or jam in the back of the van between shows.
Better than firing up my Mesa half stack in the bedroom for learning tunes. Great video.
I’d rather play a mesa if I had one tho 😂
@@JNCGaming LOL.. true. I like that little amp for when I go to the toilet.
@@danpena4472 lol riffin on the shitter
Sounds like small transistor radio, but thats to be expected.
It’s small and fun and still with the option to use it as a usb-interface! And Ola you it chuck so what’s not to like
They have the bluetooth link kit, of course sold separately so easily made wireless.
I'm so excited to get this in the mail in a couple weeks
sounds still pretty cool. a niche product this one. cool niche product for sure. the mini sounds fuller. but for this size, for real. still sound damn mean.
Cool thanks for the heavy demo of the go.
Now i just need an aucoustic demo and a bass demo.
5:25 Woah, that is the best Metal sound for that tiny little amp. Anybody knows the name of the preset in the app?
Great product. I don't use it as an app, I use it as distortion in my chain. Just use the headphone out into the front of an actual amp. Also If I was honest, I use it mostly as a bluetooth headphone amplifier. My phone does not have a headphone jack and I own many audio file headphones. This is also great to add a wireless dongle too. It clips on your belt and you can literally jam anywhere.
The Chug life mug is dope
Hey, starting from minute 6:20 in this video, we can hear the front speaker "cracking", I got my Spark go and it does the same, it"s unplayable. I don't know if I have to return it or not. Glad to sse yours does the same :D
Have you noticed that BTW? Just play a E chord with a metal amplifier and it does bzzzz bzzzz bzzzz all the time, diappointing.
Before you people comment, at home you can ear the noise very loud.
Man, this makes me super excited for the summer... I wanna take it on a boat and play smth for the fish
I don’t think the idea behind this little amp is to destroy it trying to achieve real amps tone but more to have a decent quality solution for practicing or experimenting when normally would be impossible. I bought one btw
Aww so cute! And the amp too!
Years ago I built my own "Bias FX to go". Took a ipad (had no iphone) and a bluetooth speaker, both anywhere in my jeans -> and GO. Funky bass sound and djenty amp sound, both really good. In your video the high frequencies sound very noisy, over my solution I had a smooth sound. And headphones instead of speaker was also possible, then you had the same sound like you have on pc with Bias FX.
I am not sure about the Spark GO.
Just ordered one Thanks Ola
Really looking forward to this thingy :)
Id honestly go for the slightly bigger one, the mini.. saw some good reviews for it, plus it has double small speakers inside 🎸🎶👍
I use the Mini at home but I bought the Go for the office 😄
@@realdocloco awesome sauce 🎸🎶🎶
Use a 90 degree cable
Sounds a hell of a lot better than my overpriced Orange crush mini.
The minicrush costs only half and it has a nice clean tone, but for anything else you need something more, I just jammed my amplug in the line in when I wanted chug or lead.
If it has it; you may need to activate hi Z mode. Then you May eliminate the fart sound. Also; eqing the lows out a bit.
@@creamwobbly hater! Lol.. DEBBIE DOWNER
The cable you've used had an angled jack that you've inserted in the guitar, which was much more suitable to use on the amp than the straight side you've used to insert in the amp, which was so much better to use on the guitar.. How funny is that? :D By the way good demo on the amp.
Yo, wondering why you didn't plug the 90 degree plug into the amp rather than your guitar ... just sayin' ...
Does it really bother you
@@danieljennings6144 did I say it bothered me Dan ?
Can’t wait to get mine. 🤘🏼
Angled cable would make balance
Thanks Ola. I ordered this stuff a month ago, but I wasn't sure... I think it's gonna be fine and also better for my neighbors 😁
I see on their site that you can plug in earphones, I wish you'd cover that experience! This looks quite useful in that scenario.
Now we need a guitar that fits in your hand to be completely portable :)
The Mesa AI preset is pretty damn good
Cool paintings.
Well, that's my birthday present to myself sorted
Amazing bit of kit. Top shelf 👍🏆
It’s chugging!!
I'm about to head downtown with my guitar and just riff.
Really cool for what it is
Whoaaa leech posters everywhere in the desk room 5:15 chugged
“It’s close to farting man!” 😂😂😂
Can you clip it on to your belt?
Great review. want one
I would love to change front skins. Damn doctor stole mine at birth.
Just getting back into guitar. This will scratch an itch until I can get a cortex, plus I won’t bankrupt my family.
Turn your cable around. Plug the right angle to end into the amp to take some relief off the amp jack. It’s also silly to plug the right angle end into a strat style guitar
You look REMARKABLY like Duane Allman!! (Great review, too!!) 😎
Never heard of her
This or Katana Go? To use in earphones....
They do make bluetooth guitar cables no? I was just about to look it up
Don't stress me with the zooming features that don't really work in my japanese camera since they forgot I had a carstereo before. I've thought you were deep into electronic music, it's light years that I'm not breaking mirrors for a better view of the landscape...
When amnesia hits you hard and you forget how many presets you've made before given almost the same name to each one of them.
But seriously, seems to have a huge sound, at least through the cam mic.
I tried the BlackStar fly 3 in a local store and i was quite impressed but im liking Spark GO because of the software and size. Has anyone tried both?
Personally, I hated my Blackstar Fly 3. I hated it 5 minutes after first playing through it. Shitty tones in my opinion
The Spark 40 was too bass heavy for my taste, and the Mini was pretty spot-on. I expect the Go to be designed to have decent low end for its size, but I'm afraid they'll have overdone it. Any thoughts?
Can't lower the bass EQ..?
@@BzBlade in a literal sense, yes, but it's still really boomy. I've heard you can pack foam into a port into the front, and you can add an eq pedal in the app, but it's really bass heavy to a fault.
Those chords you played were so fucking beautiful at 4:43-4:50 my god what were they?
Thanks for the review Ola! I have one on pre-order and I'm excited to try it. Will you be uploading any real Ola tones to the Spark app?
I think it's pretty damn amazing, but then again, Ola can make a broom sound great.
Any Latency?
Sounds good for the size.
You can make it wireless with
Wireless cable systems
For its size it’s wayyyyy better than (super fizzy) mini amps from the big names
well where im at its already hot so the ac is going full blast, so the puter is hooked to the g interface to the mixer to the audio monitors and must say for most of your pickings they sound really good ! Maybe later i should disconnect to just the puter to hear what everyone prob hearing prob caca
I think if you mic it, you can gig with it a none could find out😊
Finally!!!!
What Spark Amp Model is that Engl Fireball Preset? Sounds killer!
Is what it is for a small amp, bit gimmicky. Good for a Bluetooth speaker, don’t be expecting anything great due to the size of the speakers. Good to see a decent sound test, a lot of demos are done in a way that make this sound way better than what it is.
Does it chug?
Watch the vid?
Can you djent with it ? I'm highly interested to know if it's a possibility
yet another free ad for Engl Fireball
Ola why did you never try the bigger Spark?
Are u in my old house still in sandford .??
I find with a lot of the preset amps my speaker farts out even when not particularly loud. I also can't find a way to play music through it to jam along to, can anyone help me?
You can purchase your own wireless device to use in it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🔥🔥🔥🔥
After hearing this, it’s confirm I will not get it. Thanks Ola. Anyways ppl are saying how shitty PG supports their customers. Thinking of getting the Mini. Anyone care to share about their experiences with PG?
Ordered PG Riff to Slovakia, at the time I wasn't so happy with it, no problem sending it back and getting money back, and the support was OK.
Does it have a transpose feature?
Dumb question, was it directly plugged into the guitar or was there a pedal on the ground? Looking for the best way to get a variety of sounds/distortion without having to spend a ton of money
There's a companion phone app that lets you model pretty much any amp or pedal on the market. Just sync with your phone and dial it in.
wanted to hear the clean sound
JBL Go it's very similar
I got one Christmas gift from my wife she doesn't know yet maybe she'll get me a guitar too there's a schecter I got my eye on she's so good to me😂
Appreciate how you demo products without putting on a loud ass backing track. Hard to get a sense of how things actually sound when people do that.
Just get to the part we wanna know: WILL IT CHUGGG??
bought I didnt receive yet ! why so long to ship ??
It’s a pre order. They aren’t shipping till the end of May, early June. Maybe, they aren’t the best at getting things out on time.
