I love the calmness in your videos and that you allow enough time to actually see the details in the lovely example photos you provide. Informative, peaceful and pretty. Thank you
I particularly like French Country style because it is timeless and not as overdone as other styles of decorating. We're going through "what's trendy" here in the states and I'm now looking for a timeless look like FC. Very nice indeed.
I have a budget of $0 for home decorating at present but your videos feed my home fantasies and keep me happy and planning til circumstances change! Thank you very much. : D
Good luck Grey Sky. The fabulous thing about any country look is that imagination and creativity go far. Reinvent, upcycle, thrift and fleamarket shop. You'll get the best and cheapest results that way. French style is curvy, utilizes black metal, accessorizes with shutters, open shelving, country fabrics, anything blue, like cornflower blue, old pottery and so on. Prayers are with you. S
"the best video for taking the time to not just show photos but to explain the process and you look wonderful because your make up is great for your face"💓💚💛
I have long loved the feminine, relaxed elegance of French country design. Some I have been able to work into my own home and enjoy it every day. Thank you for this sweet reminder of all things beautiful.
For the past couple of years I have been learning how to decorate in the French Country style, despite living in the U.S. This video taught me so much and I thank you for giving us such detail.. I have not been to France but it is on my list of places I would love to visit outside the U.S. I quickly subscribed to your channel just because of this one video and I do hope you either already have other French Country videos posted or will make more in the future.
An excellent presentation covering all the key design elements of the French Country aesthetic. This show compels one to hop on a plane and head to Provence.

Hi ! There I love this video of The French living and homes you touch on all the important part of decorating thank you for showing in detail of the culture!!! It helps so much in setting room atmosphere would love to have a closer look !!! Thank you so much enjoyed
It would be a treat to have her go into even more detail with accompanying pictures. But this was a very thorough well-thought out vlog to introduce the uninitiated. I have all the elements she described ...but also very eclectic furniture from Indonesia and Dutch Colonial antiques, as well as a lot of Chinese furniture and antiques ...so I guess my style is just eclectic. I love the stone cladding idea to add more French-country feel to the house.
Although the content is great, what i like most about your video's is the speed. When everything is hasted around us, you bring a calm and clear atmosphere. Holiday vibes all over. Thank you.
I have so enjoyed your video. I took a river boat cruise last summer to the south of France. So much to love. I live in Colorado but my heart is in Provence. Thank you for such a beautiful and informative video.
As is the case with all your videos, this was incredibly thorough and informative. I learned so much about the variation and nuances of this kind of design. Thank you!!
Thank you for this informative video. I have been aspiring to have a french style cottage feel in my home in Seattle. Looking at this video was reassuring. 🍃
That was a fantastic vid. FINALLY someone who explains how to decorate in layman’s terms. Have now 100 percent confidence of putting it all together. Thank you so much. Best regards from Australia
Such a great video. Sat watching it here on holiday in Provence. Wondering how to capture it when I go back home, you have given me a couple of ideas. Thank you
Really enjoyed the video. We live in a converted barn in rural Berkshire in the UK, built at the end of the 19th century. We have incorporated several provencal elements combined with classic English antiques and it creates the same effect but grounded in the UK. We have limestone and oak floors on the ground floor and oak upstairs, exposed oak beams and soft white walls with colour added through textiles, art and ceramics. It really is a versatile style that can be adapted to incorporate the local vernacular. ❤
That sounds lovely Dear. I often think about our trip too. I will go back at some point but it's so hard to cover all of the areas down there 😆 So many places to see!!
Hi love all your wonderful french country side is my favorite you never see the same furniture in any of the houses truly beautiful love everything shown its like home living in such splender thank you we will bewatching you and all your videos😊❤❤😅
I just found your channel and loved every morsel of information and especially the length of time you gave us to examine each frame. Most channels just breeze quickly through each marvelous scene, but yours respectfully gave the watcher time to envelop each moment. Thank you again.
Hello, I'm a new subscriber. I love your channel. It has a little of everything I like. My decorating style is modern/glam, but I love to look at all styles and pick and choose something looks interesting. I would like to go to France someday.
Can I use a brass modern light fixture in my dining room for an update in an American Farmhouse that has a French Flair? Your video made me second guess my choice! I just love the French influence! Thank you for this video
I am so happy to have found your channel! This video was perfection in so many ways...calm, soothing and informative!! Just what I need in my life. I had the privilege of living in France as a boursière and grad student when I was in my 20s and my favorite memories of Provence include Aix, St. Paul de Vence and St. Raphael. I hope to visit some of the smaller villages some day. Until then I was thrilled to recognize that many of the French touches I've incorporated into our home relate to French Country style. Thank you for your lovely work and best wishes from San Diego, California! Gros bisous ! ❤❤
Hi Debra! Sorry I'm only seeing your comment now!!! 😱 Oh my word you're so lucky! I don't know if you watched our French travel vlog, but strangely we visited all of the places you mentioned🧡 I was in Aix on my birthday! I completely love the De L'esterel coastline with it's red rocks🏜️ (St Raph, Frejus area) it felt so laid-back compared to Cannes & Monaco etc. Although we loved Menton! 🍋 Thank you for your warm wishes & story🥹 I am sending love to you in San Diego 🏴➡️🇺🇲💓 A bientot! 💓💓
I built a Greek pilloried Georgian home. Complete with nine over nine floor to ceiling windows, and French doors throughout. Also, six chandeliers, five wood burning fireplaces. Chaise lounges, cane bed commissioned in France, and all things French in the furnishings. Lace curtains from Paris behind gorgeous satin taffeta drapes. My floors in the common areas, such as, the lounge, kitchen, butler’s pantries, and utility room, were hand laid used brick. In the dinning room there was a French walnut table taken straight from France, to the dock, to my home! The morning room had a family heirloom black seven layered enamel oval table, and commissioned black tall ladder back chairs. The nine foot curtains in a ten foot high ceiling were red and white cotton gingham with small black ball fringe trim. Of course, White marble with black granite diamonds was the rigor diem for formal entrance. He library floor was covered in “Persian” like carpet…. I personally mixed all of my colors, including trims. They were the perfect backdrop for a mix of American Southern, French interior. After my husband died, it was better for me to move from my gated community with its large separation of homes with land. But, my heart stays true to my “magnum opus”, and hope to do another home, perhaps French Provincial with a mansard roof! Thank you for your wonderfully English preciseness in this presentation. Bon Voyage on your next trip! Hope you have just the right great French finds!♥️🌟
Hi Dear! Sorry I'm only just seeing your comment now😖 Your home sounds completely immense & darling (and authentic I might add). The exterior of the house you described sounds like the ones I mentioned in my Sweet Magnolia's video? Charleston type homes. If you do another home (french provincial style) do let me know how it goes🤗💗 I'm sorry to hear about your husband, you're in my prayers 🙏 Best wishes & Take care 💗💗
I am learning so much from all the fabulous advice, photography, information and decorations in your blogs! We are in the beginning process of designing our retirement home. I have always wanted an English or French Country Cottage. Thank you!
Love this video! A few years back, I went to a friend's wedding in Normandy and managed to visit Claude Monet's home. It was a truly special place with so many gardens filed with flowers. Highly recommend a visit there, but it is quite busy so have patience and take your time!
I would prefer hardwood floors like we have in the US and I don’t care for stone as much. I love French country but I like more wood involved. Thank you for sharing!😊
😊 Prefer the warmth of wood🪵. Wooden plank floors are so timeless. Tile flooring is such major 🎲🎲 gamble 🎰 in my experience. 👁👁Seen many instances of even pricey💸 tile that looked tacky & dated in short order😱. Plus, most folks in LA wouldn't spare the extra 💰expense for under floor heating. Although we get relatively mild Winters here (dropping to🌡30s F, & hovering in 50s F)〰️I've frozen🥶 in bathrooms & kitchens here with tile on the floor. Plus, the grout can be a beast to keep clean. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
French Cottage / French Country is definitely pulling on me. I loved everything I saw in this video. I live in beautiful San Diego, but would love to have a little French Cottage in the country or more rural area. Thank you for such a beautiful video. I will be traveling to France in less than a week... my first trip.

Thank you so much Daniela! I truly appreciate your comment, sorry I'm only just seeing it now😖 Thank you for your kind words, see you in the next video🤗❤
J. Well, you definitely nailed it with this entire video. How about a Tuscan, Italian Provincial et al video next? All the best regards and Best Wishes for your continued success.
Thank you for this thorough and lovely summary of French country styles. Since the word Chinoiserie is a French word to express the Chinese style of decor, would you say chinoiserie is found in a certain region of France primarily? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Julie 🌷
Chinese decor primary was found in Château or manors because only people(noble or a rich land owner)with money can afford it. But today you used all over the country is like, white and blue porcelain. You can used in chateau style and provensal or farmhouse decor.
Hi Julie! Speaking from a personal point of view, I would see these decorations / furniture in large ornate palaces in France, not centralized to a particular region per say. Most chateau these days are bought by expats or french people and done up to their own interior style. But a lot of the remaining chateaux (not residential) are now museums and can have a nod to older styles like chinoiserie elements. In regards to Provencal/ Provence homes, I wouldn't say chinoiserie was seen amongst the interior; its proximity to the Med means they go for more rustic terracotta pots etc. However, if you're looking for chinoiserie, look up Brighton Pavillion UK- it has the largest collection of chinoiserie I have ever seen😊🙌
Oh thank you darling! It's just from Primark here in the UK. It's just a classic striped Bardot top, I'm sure you'll be able to find one online similar 🙏❤️
Thank you Monique! 🤗Where abouts in Florida? I have visited Daytona, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa & Orlando. We are *hoping* to go to Orlando next year☀️ Sending love from Scotland 💌🏴

You can see it all over the country, not have a specific region
Charming. Very well done.💋
Thank you! 🤗
