yep it`s long way to drive .. i heard of that venue , but i believe in those trout waters also you can get very good size fish just for instant at Rutland waters at the end of winter have nice fish of 12.7 kg and i think there might be even bigger :) just guesses my friend :) who knows :)
They all have the food source and so the potential to throw up big fish. Fish the nearest to you when you can and you have a chance at some point of landing a dream fish.
no mate . i haven`t . i don`t think i have lost a lot for not being there :) tbh your trip with Andy that day on the river from boat has been the day everyone of us dream of :) right time right place mate :) anyway nice try on the lake despite hard fishing :)
Yeah it's a tough venue but there is a dream fish for someone. We gave it a go and went hard. bit of luck and we bag a few more and may be even a monster. Can't grumble we had a good time. If it was a bit closer we might have had a few more goes at it. Pity it's not on my doorstep would love to figure the place out.
Some cracking fish there mate. You did really well there, when you got that 19 pounder i laughed at your excitement lol😂. Remember when i caught my pb 21lb. I was new to pike fishing and i was scared of it lol. lucky I was with an experienced angler, he showed me how to handle big pike. 👍
ha ha cheers bud. You've some entertainment to get through yet. Apologies for my language during the big trout battle! you'll know when you watch it. Yeah when you are new they are a bit scary. Helps if you are with someone experienced then you can be shown the right way and its good for you and the fish then. Congrat's on the pb that's a real beauty you must be well happy!
That was a great result for a water you don't fish regularly. I've seen the small head big body fish here also in trout fisheries. I think if comes from them eating the trout that are fed the high protein pellets it makes them put on weight without the age. Did you try trolling or where you just casting? Fishing the deep water can be tough. Tight lines lads.
+Huntnfishnuts Yeah mate we were happy. First trip on the water and also not a type of water I fish so everything was new to me. Yeah that's the thinking I believe, so much good food they pile on the weight quickly. We were only casting. Some people were fishing with dead baits but I don't think anyone caught on that method. No live baits allowed and no trolling either, unless you trolled under power of your oars! Which for us would be no good at all. I would love to get on their with Adys boat and try a few methods trolling being one and also trolling deadbaits, both ways we could cover lots of water at various depths and see where the fish are. Pity we can't do that though. cheers pal
Not easy to succeed in sucha big , unknown swim , ...but finally you've found that smaller , obviously not that deep bay , ...nice catch thís was , congrats !But what fell into my eye was that you did not take along any spare rods in that boat ,......I mean , you're spending a lot of money , driving a long way ,.....you do not want to have your trip spoiled because of rod or reel failure or even loss , do you ?And even motoring back to the car or hotel for spares can be quite disturbing , when fish are biting !I always used to carry two rods along , when boatfishing , ....even nowadays when doing bankfishing I often have two rods at hand(one heavier and one lighter to be able to fish different kinds of lures) , saved my day a few times for sure !Nice video though , ...I've enjoyed watching , .....greetings , Dieter
+61diemai cheers pal. Yeah I know what you mean. I must admit I was thinking about that the week leading up to going. A failure and the trip is ruined. We were never going to take the lighter gear as we made our minds out to go for broke with the bigger fish (plus there's a minimum lure size I think) but you are right about the spare rod and reel for any failures. cheers pal
+rossefc1 cheers Ross. The day went really well. Over 50 anglers pushing 60 but keeping tabs on them was tricky as they were all over the place. lol. We had some rain in the week so the canal was a bit murky so tough conditions. However a few lads caught and a couple did really well. One lad had about 30 perch and won biggest of the day two with one just short of 2lb. Only 4 or 5 pike came out with the biggest 8lb. Loads of good laughs and some new guys learnt plenty, we even had one lad catch his first ever pike. We made some money too on the raffle and donations with over £700 on the day. No video unfortunately as I was just too busy. Having never done anything like that before It wasn't easy I tell you but well worth it. We are thinking of doing something annually as lots of the lads loved it, learnt plenty and made new fishing pals. Not sure if you watch their channels but we also had Scouse Angler and Domfishing come over for the day. Many thanks for the donation mate, that's much appreciated. Top man!
+River Piker good I'm glad it went well. I hope you do do it every year gives me plenty of time to get days off. Yea I watch most pike anglers on RUclips,if I can't go pikeing I'm watching it on RUclips. its only a tenner but it's better not in my pocket and going towards something worth while. not just lures and beer haha.
+rossefc1 cheers Ross, yeah it'll happen again so hopefully you will be able to come. A tenner is ace mate, plenty have done just that. as you say always time for lures and beer later anyway.
+River Piker on a more serious note I watch your videos with my kids so can you watch your language. now my girls are running around with there every second word is fucking this fucking that haha. only fucking about mate love it it's like me n my mate pikeing but he's a carp man and a massive pussy when he hooks a pike. funny as fuck when I say he's gotta deal with it. it would be a pleasure fishing with u guys off RUclips.
What I dont get is why your lures aren't imitating the roach and trout the pike naturally prey upon in this lake? I'm not the most experienced pike tbh
+River Piker Keep up the videos. I have been enjoying them and have taken up River Piking recently. You videos are a great source of information to us novices.👌
+Mark Bray Good luck Mark. River piking can be tough so remember that. Often lots of water covered with little reward but if you find the right spots it can be fantastic.
+my boat, motorhome and fishing adventures Well done matey. It's not always easy to start with but what matters is that you learn from it and get better. Being prepared helps and then it's just about keeping calm and knowing what you are doing, which comes with practice. Well done on the pb pal congrats!
We probably didn't capture all the audio but i bet there's still the odd bit of us pretending to be on a Swedish youtube channel. lol Ady often has random outbursts of "big pike" or "ten kilo pike" along with dreaming I was Sara Fingal and not an ugly arsed northerner.
brillaint video Lads thanks for sharing it .catching pike and fishing with your pal Ady happy days .keep em coming mate !!!!
+marc oshea cheers marc. Yeah good laugh and a few fish what more does a bloke want?
👍
just donated a tenner not a lot but I hope it will help. I couldn't get the day off so couldn't get over and fish with you lot.
Another great video paul ;) haha love they way he said smile ;)
+PulzeGaming cheers matey. yeah, what was he trying to say like? lol
You dont understand the word smile haha ;)

Sorry for the language, it's hard because we are filming almost all the time so it is hard to keep it to a minimum 😞
again u right my friend ! sometimes we don`t know what is around us :))and looking too far ..:)
nice one mate
Love the vid and your channel, I’m just setting up my own fishing channel “the occasional angler” ..... would love to know what you think
Best Guy
Paul did you watch that donkeys video.
What I dont get is why your lures aren't imitating the roach and trout the pike naturally prey upon in this lake? I'm not the most experienced pike tbh
Have you got longer rods for the reservoir trip?
+Mark Bray No mate, used the same rods we always do.
I didn't cope very well with it but it was my first biggish pike

Regards M&K
+Mariusz i Kacper - Wędkarskie Przygody Thanks Mariusz, tight lines pal
lol were you using a Pig Shad just to pretend you were in CWC filming fly vs jerk? I'm laughing but that's what I'd be doing lol
We probably didn't capture all the audio but i bet there's still the odd bit of us pretending to be on a Swedish youtube channel. lol Ady often has random outbursts of "big pike" or "ten kilo pike" along with dreaming I was Sara Fingal and not an ugly arsed northerner.
River Piker lmao you guy's will be on Fly vs Jerk 8 right? 😂 Paul Trumsted
