Altogether a different era those days. Simple lifestyle, friends, outings, market walk, enjoying tea at small tea stalls, going to the theatres for movies was a big entertainment, books, long walks, cycles, etc. Quality of life was indeed pure gold ! Missing those days badly but listening to the songs of those days takes one back & we have the bliss !

Bollywood failed to use Yesudas and his capabilities to the best optimum level in 70's when he was in his prime period of his voice quality,The compassion for perfection is lost, remaining only greed of fame.

This song reminds me of the early eighties when i first came to bombay. Everything was so pure and innocent then. My dad and mom were in their 30s....and i was the center of all their love and attention. Everything had to change and has changed.
I recal,a same kind of statement made by one of my uncles who went to Bombay for employment in 1960,he said the same ,it was pure and innocent,the truth is we were pure and innocent then and smarter and wiser and a little greedy now ,that’s what changes our perception.,Ian also reminded of the times of the song ,dil ka Hal sine dilwala say 1953,and ya hai I Bombai mere jan, Zara hatke ,zara bacheke,of 1957 vintage.yehai Bombay mere jan,it’s no longer Bombay its Mumbai,that’s some change......

People as today exist have unfortunately forgotten the true character of word "SUR" and "TAAL" owing to having been polluted their mind set and which is bitterly does not fall to the terms of sanity, musical mellifluousness, honesty, character stability and list goes on unabated. The only solution is to be graceful, benign and forgive such human creatures and time would only correct their widths and lengths and transform themselves in right direction, one day !!! I am 50+. I watched this movie when it came out and fell in love with the songs then and regularly listen to them even now and of the four songs all of which are classics, this remains my favourite, I dare say favourite Hindi song ever. The simplicity, the gentleness of this movie, the sheer relatability of the characters- I could keep going on and on. It just makes me hanker back to a time that never really existed (yeah, India in the 70's was rather sucky, to say the least) but makes me yearn for it.
