  • There are many theories and beliefs about baptism as portrayed in the New Testament. What’s the origin of baptism? Was it really a new commandment? We examine these questions and more as we study the Scriptures in order to figure out what is baptism.

My family is planning on baptizing ourselves on Yom Kippur. I feel like the Spirit is leading us to it. We have been talking about it lately and then many of the ministries that we follow, including this one, start releasing teachings on Baptism. Yom Kippur 2019 was the first feast that I was able to keep and marks my first full year of attempting to live a Torah Observant lifestyle. I feel as though it is appropriate after coming back from over 15 years of apostasy and sin. Praise the Most High and His Most glorious Son! HalleluYah!!

Very good. I admire 119 ministry and there in the succinct teachings. Baptism isn't required for salvation, but whatever is in the Scriptures'is required for discipleship.
And I think the thief on the Cross was baptised that day, as it mentions a brutal storm that did not stop throughout the entire crucifixion.. just my observations. He also received Christ that day. That is the most important, as he would be baptised into His Death and Resurrection.

Then Christ turns around and say you have to be born of water 1st birth and of the Spirit 2nd birth. That which is flesh (an earthly sack of water birth) is flesh. That which is Spirit ( a born from above birth) is Spirit. In other words the spiritual birth is obeying His words that come from above which can be seen in verse 21

Can you explain to me why you put so much trust and emphasis on his commentary? For example 15:04 you quote his opinion(?) on Acts and this being a "demarcation" of faith in "Jesus". As I have yet to test his belief, but I would say just on that scripture alone, it is definitely possible a baptizm is used as such, but not necessarily the only conclusion one could draw from Yeshua's specific instructions....and I just noticed you quoting him a lot in this message, which you don't seem to do normally. Just thought I would ask before testing all of this why you seem to really trust this particular scholar. Thanks, Shalom

My understanding is that the English word baptism is not actually a "translation" but rather a "transliteration". The Greek word βάπτισμα (baptisma) had no direct English word (much like the German word glumenikite has no direct English word). Since a word did not exist the translators used the Greek word with a "English" sound. According to Strongs baptisma means baptism (circular at best). We simply do not have a word for the Greek "baptisma" being completely immersed. Understanding that we are talking about a concept (complete immersion) and not a definite word we can see and better understand verses such as Matthew 3:15 (baptize with the Holy Spirit, baptize with fire). Oddly enough when we see the word Baptism in the Scriptures it seldom refers to what we instinctively (by singular definition teaching) think it is speaking about; it is very important to look at the context in which the word is being used. I hope this is helpful.

I love your ministry and many of your teachings. It always surprises me when you get something dead wrong, but you drop the ball on baptism. You imply that “faith” as described in Ephesians 2:8 is mere intellectual assent to some set of propositions. Why, after all these years of promoting and teaching Hebrew perspective, would you lapse into a Greek perspective on such an important topic. You know full well that “belief” which does not result in obedience is not faith.
Baptism is neither a “symbol” nor a “ritual.” It is part of the process of entering the covenant relationship with Yeshua which eventually results in salvation.
Acts 2:38 says that baptism results in forgiveness of sin and receiving the Ruach. How is salvation possible without those conditions?
Romans 6:3-4 says that baptism unites us with Messiah in His death so that we may also be raised as He was. What salvation is possible without resurrection.
Galatians 3:27 says that baptism is the means for joining Yeshua’s body. Who will be saved apart from that body?
You denigrated 1 Peter 3:21, but it says plainly that Baptism saves us.
At the Red Sea Crossing, Israel was not saved by merely believing that YHVH is capable of parting the water. They had to actually walk through.
Why you would choose to promote false doctrine here is beyond me. I’m guessing that you have Baptist background and feel some need to justify that perspective. You need to be reminded that Acts 2:38 does not say: “Don’t do anything. Just hang there. Remember the thief on the cross.”

    • @119Ministries
      @119Ministries  3 года назад +9

      Shalom Jim,
It is important to see what scripture says on the matter.
Ephesians tells us that we are saved by grace through faith in Messiah.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
IF baptism was required for salvation then it would have listed that as well. AND if baptism is required for salvation, how could the Messiah allow the Thief to be saved? IF it is required for salvation then there can be NO exceptions.
We cannot say that baptism is required to be saved except for the thief on the cross.
This is the same argument that Paul was having in his time. Those that were opposed to Paul also stated that baptism was necessary for salvation. But Paul makes it especially clear that baptism was not at the heart of the Gospel for him. He said his mission was to preach the gospel, not to make sure everyone was baptized. But if baptism were necessary for salvation, why would Paul distinguish it from the gospel?
      Just some things to consider.
      Blessings and Shalom

    • @jimhuskins8506
      @jimhuskins8506 3 года назад +7

Thanks for your reply. Where exactly does Paul state that baptism is not necessary? I’ve never read such a verse. You still stand on a Greek perspective of faith as mere mental ascent without any obedience. And to use your same rhetorical device, if baptism is not necessary, why did Peter not say, “Just ask Jesus into your heart for the remission of sin and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” You are wrong on this point. “In the same manner, baptism now saves us.” That statement could not be more clear.
YHVH can forgive sin in any manner He chooses. I expect to see the thief during the Millennium. Following the resurrection, however, Yeshua said, “Make disciples, baptize them, teach to observe everything I commanded.” The thief’s unique experience does not cancel that instruction.
Of course we are saved by grace through faith and not of works. Scripture makes it clear that baptism-something done to you, not by you-is not a “work.” It is a necessary part of saving faith. It is the point when sin is forgiven. The Ethiopian Eunuch did not say, “Behold, here is water. Let’s avoid it since I have no need for it.”
Every conversion recorded in Acts is immediately accompanied by baptism. It grieves me that one of my favorite Torah teaching ministries is going to so much trouble to defend a doctrine of man. A Greek interpretation of Ephesians 2:8 does not cancel everything that Brit Hadasha says about baptism.
Optional baptism is one of the classic Baptist doctrinal heresies along with pre trib rapture and eternal security.

Baptism represents coming out of the water. Seperating ourselves from being emerged in the waters. The waters represent the nations. So baptism represents our coming out of the nations and setting ourselves up above the nations, to Gods ways.
While baptism is the fleshly representation of this, we were commanded to live in the spiritual.
We can spiritually be baptised by coming out of the nations, simply by turning away from tje nations ways, and entering into a covenant with God and his ways.
Yes there was a baptism by water. But there will also be a baptism of fire. Jesus said he will destroy the earth by fire. Those who are found pure, will be refined in this fire and made new.
Those who are not found pure, will be overtaken by this fire and destroyed.
While it is an amazing thing to be baptised physically by water, we must not lose track of the greater meaning, the spiritual meaning, of being baptized. Where we come out of the nations!
Think of this end times baptism by fire as how in the story of Daniel, Shadwrap, Mishack and Abendigo (I'm sure I butcher those spellings) were refined in the fire and found pure, and were not destroyed. So too will the final baptism by fire be.

Actually, you're incorrect. Circumcision is a qualifer/disqualifer just as Ezekiel says and Jeremiah says. Paul is not talking about biblical circumcision in the letter to Galatians. He circumcised Timothy on the very journey to Galatia. Paul is against RABBINICAL circumcision. This is called brit periah and it is what Titus rejected as well. Brit milah (biblical circumcision) is one of God's commands and Paul upholds/believes/obeys Torah. He certainly taught everyone to obey Torah. Obeying God definitely IS a qualifier for salvation. Whether one obeys Torah (the law) or not, is a determining factor of whether someone is lawless or not. Lawlessness equates to rejection.

So, in this video we are shown that the Torah command us to wash (ceremony cleansing) ourselves in many many instances for many different effects.... And that the disciple's in obedience to messiah also used washing (baptism) to ceremonially declare the commitment to God through faith in messiah
But then you say washing (baptism) is not a command....
    That seems ridiculous to me

Deuteronomy chapter 5 tells us that on the 2nd set of tablets given to Moses (after he broke the 1st set), God wrote on the 4th commandment that the 7th day sabbath is a memorial of the day he brought the Israelite out of Egypt. That means God is telling us that the day he brought Israel out of Egypt, which was the 15th day of the 1st month during the Exodus, was a 7th day sabbath! Its literally written in the 4th commandment forever as a time stamp to a specific 7th day sabbath memorial. if the 15th of that month was a 7th day sabbath according to the creator, then the 22nd of that month and the 29th of that 1st month must have also been sabbaths.
Remember, the book of Enoch tells us that every single month either has 29 or 30 days in it.
Exodus chapter 16 tells us that Moses and the Israelite spoke with God on the 15th day on the 2nd month of the Exodus. The Israelite's complained that they wanted to eat meat. So God told Moses to tell the people, that at evening, he would send quail for meat, and the following day (which is the 16th day of the 2nd month) God would send manna. God said the manna would fall for 6 straight days, but on the 7th day it would not fall because this was to mark his sabbath. God said this would be a test to see if the Israelite's would obey his sabbath. Friends, if the 16th day of that month was the 1st day of the week, the first day the manna fell, then we can conclude that the day prior, the 15th, was a 7th day sabbath. Since the 15th was a sabbath, we can conclude that the 8th day was also a sabbath. Therefore the 22nd and 29th days of this 2nd month had to be 7th day sabbaths as well.
The Book of Jubilees chapter 1 tells us that on the 16th day of the 3rd month during the Exodus, God spoke to Moses and the Israelite's on mount Sinai. Jubilees tells us this day was THE FEAST OF WEEKS. Which means the feast of weeks took place on the 16th day of the 3rd lunar month during the Exodus (side note: who hear follows this instruction :).
Leviticus 23 tells us that the feast of weeks must take place on the day AFTER a 7th day sabbath. This means the 16th day of the 3rd month was the 1st day of the week. making the 15th day of the 3rd month during the Exodus a 7th day sabbath! Which means the 8th day of the 3rd month had to be a sabbath as well.
Friends, this now makes 3 straight months where the sabbath takes place on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th days of the 3 months recorded in scripture referring to the Exodus. And remember, God said this was all a big test to see if the Israelite's would obey this sabbath count.
Now for some unbiased simple math. If the last sabbath during the 1st month of the Exodus occurred on the 29th day (remember theres either 29 or 30 days in a Hebrew month per Enoch), and the next sabbath did not occur until the 8th day on the 2nd month, then how many days separated those two sabbaths? The answer depends on ho many days were in that 1st month. if there were 29 days, then 8 days separated the two sabbaths. if there was 30 days during the 1st month, then simple math tells us there were then 9 days that separated the two sabbaths!
The exact same scenario plays out in the following month, once again the sabbath ending on the 29th day of the 2nd month was NOT 7 days apart from the sabbath that fell on the 8th day of the 3rd month!
So the scriptural fact is that you can deny a luni-solar sabbath all you want, but the proof of scripture says that you are wrong. Scripture does not lie and our amazing father has given us a way to prove his true sabbath through the Torah, just as the Israelite's were taught to obey its count.
Side note: Leviticus 23 tells us the Feast of Weeks is a moedim. Psalm 104:19 tells us that the moedim are appointed by the MOON. So what does the feast of Weeks command tell us to do? it tells us to count 7 complete weeks! Weeks according to what? According to the moon! Here scripture is testifying that the only possible way to calculate his week i according to the moon!

Test everything my friends, the word of God reveals much!!!!
Funfact: The books of 2nd Baruch an 4 Ezra undeniably show proof of a luni-solar sabbath just like the books I referenced from the Torah do. If anyone is interested in that study just message me and ill provide the verses for your testing.

If there happened to be three 29-day months in a row (I know that 2 is definitely possible and it seems that 3 should be theoretically possible also), then the same thing happens anyway. For me, the simple maths means 7 days = 7 days. I'd have to be shown another verse that tells me that the seventh day Sabbath can occur on the eighth or ninth day (& I've looked previously).

    • @johnhope9030
      @johnhope9030 3 года назад

@@PlaceOfTheLamb no the same thing doesnt happen anyways if 3 29 day months in a row happen. Exodus 16 says that the 16th day of the month was the 1st day of the week. That means that the 15th was a sabbath. Which means the 8th was also a sabbath in the 2nd month. Deuteronomy 5 proves that the 29th day of the 1st month was a sabbath.
How many days are between the 29th day of the 1st month (a sabbath) and the 8th day of the 2nd month (a sabbath)? Not 7!
      Scripture doesnt lie.
The 8th day means the 8th day of the month NOT THE 8TH DAY OF THE WEEK. Scripture says the sabbath is on the 7th day of the WEEK. Which means the 7th day of the WEEK and the 8th day of the MONTH can take place on the exact same day!
This is only an impossible concept on a manmade Roman calendar

The Hebrew Sabbath was originally a Sabbathon . . . it was celebrated at intervals of seven days, corresponding with the changes in the moon’s phases . . . Encyclopaedia Biblica, 1899, p. 4180.
Shabbat originally arose from the lunar cycle, containing four weeks ending in Sabbath, plus one or two additional unreckoned days per [lunar] month. The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia: Volume 10 Cohen, Simon (1943 p 482-483.)
the week of seven days was connected with the lunar month, of which it is, approximately, a fourth . . .“ The Jewish Encyclopedia
The Hebrew month is a lunar month and the quarter of this period - one phase of the moon - appears to have determined the week of seven days. Encyclopaedia Biblica, 1899, p. 4780.
At first the New Moon festival was not counted among the seven days of the week; after 28 days had elapsed [7 days x 4 weeks], one or two days were intercalated as New Moon days, whereupon a new cycle of four weeks began, so that the Sabbath was a movable festival…. Later the week and the Sabbath became fixed [to the Roman cycling planetary week]; and this gradually resulted in taking away from the New Moon festival its popular importance. . . The Jewish Encyclopedia, Pastoral Feast.
The [early] Hebrews employed lunar seven-day weeks, which ended with special observances on the seventh day, but none the less were tied to the moon’s course. Rest Days, Hutton Webster, p. 254-255
The weeks do not continue in a regular cycle regardless of the moon. Each month has four weeks, the beginning with the New Moon. I have no doubt that this was the old Hebrew system. Babylonian Menologies and the Semitic Calendars, p. 89.
The connection of the Sabbath with lunar phases, however, was (later) discarded by the Israelites . . . The New Schaff-Herzog Religious Encyclopedia, p. 135-136.
It is certain that the Jews celebrated . . . Pentecost . . . without regard in either case to the day of the [modern Roman] week. Oxford English Dictionary, 1971 Edition, Vol. 2, Pentecost.
The Sabbath depending, in Israel’s nomadic period, upon the observation of the phases of the moon, it could not, accordingly be a fixed day [meaning a fixed planetary day of the modern Roman cycling week]. The Jewish Encyclopedia: Volume 10, p. 590.
Most theologians and some scholars assume that mainstream Jewish society, at the time of Jesus was practicing a fixed seven-day week which was the same as the modern fixed [cycling planetary designations] seven-day week. This is extremely doubtful. The change, from a lunar to a fixed week, was brought about by the power and influence of Rome. As long as the Nazarenes held power in Jerusalem, all Roman practices and customs, including that of the consecutive week, were held at bay. Shawui Sabbath: Ancient Sabbath Observance
In the years following Clement of Alexandria’s time (A.D. 150-215), an ominous change started to take place that was to radically change the Christian concept of the Sabbath. This intimate connection between the week and the month was soon dissolved. It is certain that the week soon followed a development of its own, and it became the custom - without paying any regard to the days of the month (i.e. the luni-solar month) . . . so that the New Moon no longer coincided with the first day of the month. Then, on page 4179 of the same encyclopedia, we read: “The introduction of the custom of celebrating the Sabbath every 7th day, irrespective of the relationship of the day to the moon’s phases, led to a complete separation from the ancient view of the Sabbath. . . Encyclopaedia Biblica, 1903 p. 5290.
It should be noted that the oldest dated Christian inscription to employ a planetary designation [Sunday thru Saturday, unbroken weekly cycles] belongs to the year 269 A.D.

The present Jewish calendar was fixed [changed to the Roman planetary weekly cycle] in the fourth century. Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Letter by Louis Finkelstein to Dr. L. E. Froom, Feb. 20, 1939.
Some Dead Sea Scrolls, such as 4Q325, 4Q326, 4Q327, and 4Q394, contain fixed week calendar systems which may represent an early attempted transition from the more ancient lunar phase week toward the modern fixed week made mandatory by Rome a few centuries later. Dead Sea Scroll fragments also preserve a luni-solar calendar, along with new and dark moons which are unnecessary if they only kept the purely solar calendar of 364 days. [Author Unknown]
This change from the luni-solar to a fixed solar calendar occurred in Rome during the repressive measures which were enacted against ALL Jewish customs . . .during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. With the fall of the Nazarene headquarters…at Jerusalem, this new Roman calendar quickly spread throughout ‘Christendom.’ This new calendar not only replaced yearly festival dates such as Passover, but it also revamped the concept of the week and its seventh-day. Iranaeus 2nd Century A.D.
The calendar was used by ALL the original disciples of Yeshua…This original Nazarene lunar-solar calendar was supplanted by a Roman “planetary week” and calendar in 135 C.E. - when the “Bishops of the Circumcision” were displaced from Jerusalem. This began a three hundred year controversy concerning the TRUE CALENDAR AND CORRECT SABBATH: This [calendar] controversy arose after the exodus of the bishops of the circumcision and has continued until our time.” Epiphanius, HE4, 6, 4.
In the years following Clement of Alexandria’s time, an ominous change started to take place that was to radically change the Christian concept of the Sabbath. This intimate connection, records the Encyclopedia Biblica, between the week and the month was soon dissolved. It is certain that the week soon followed a development of its own, and it became the custom without paying any regard to the days of the month [i.e. the lunar month]. Encyclopedia Biblica p. 5290.
“The early Christians [Messiah followers] had at first adopted the Jewish [lunar] seven-day week with its numbered weekdays, but by the close of the third century A.D. this began to give way to the planetary week; and in the fourth and fifth centuries the pagan designations became generally accepted in the western half of Christendom. The use of the planetary names by Christians attests to the growing influence of astrological speculations introduced by converts from paganism.” Rest Days: A Study in Early Law and Morality. New York: The MacMillan Company, 1916, p. 220.
Sabbath and New Moon (Rosh Chodesh), both periodically recur in the course of the year. The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, “Holidays,” p. 410.
The nations do their counting with the Sun, but Israel, with the Moon. The Mekilta, a work of Rabbi Yisma’el Merita (2nd century AD).
“The first day of the lunar month was observed as a holy day. . . As on the Sabbath, trade and handicraft work were stopped (Amos 8:5; Ezekiel 46:3) and the temple was opened for public worship…. It was an occasion for state banquets (1 Samuel. 20:5-24). Smith’s Bible Dictionary (1884): New Moon.
Under the reign of Constantius the persecutions of the Jews reached such a height that the computation of the (luni-solar) calendar (was) forbidden under pain of severe punishment. (Source: The Jewish Encyclopedia, “Calendar.”)

As for the thief-can anyone have been baptized into the death, burial and resurrection of Christ prior to his death burial and resurrection? Next, those who received the spirit, why weren’t they told they were good to go instead of saying water baptism should be done?
I don’t see baptism as any sort of “work” at all, but the exact thing it says it is, buried with Christ in baptism so we can live with him eternally. One verse taken out of context is not prudent. We must look at the whole Word. John 3:16 is ever spoken by people who think if they invite Jesus into their hearts, they’re good to go. The verse says For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. No mention of keeping any law of GOD. If that was the only verse I ever read, I’d think that’s all I needed, no instruction of Moses, no recognizing anything of Yah.
The Bible is clear that we will live with Christ if we are buried with him. It’s not difficult to read the IF in the middle of that sentence. Certainly the inner desire to please Yah, generates the desire to obey Him, which starts with being buried with Christ in baptism, as stated.

Could it be that the baptism should be made in the name of Yahweh since Yeshua bare the Name of the Father which means Yahweh is Salvation and the Name of the Spirit is Yahweh as well because it is the Yahweh's Spirit as well. Everything are pointing to the Creator, His Word, His Spirit, His Salvation plan. In John 17 it was very clear on Yeshua's prayer to the Father, that we should be all ONE with the Father who is IN Yeshua. So Yeshua is also IN US if we Obey his teachings about The Word of the Father= the Torah. His Word cleanses us, and His Spirit is the One who will Help us Follow His Word. It is the Father Who provided the Lamb for Sacrifice through Yeshua, He will also provide for us the POWER to Obey through His Spirit. And through this the Father will be GLORIFIED. the Father have done this FOR HIS NAME SAKE. And because Yeshua has OBEYED THE Father, he was granted the Rulership of the Earth as his reward and so are WE if we FOLLOW the Footsteps of Yeshua through Obedience. Yeshua said "Come Follow Me." so that we will rule with him in the New Earth.
The Father already said in Psalm 91 He will reward those who will ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, He will give them glory and honor and will give them long life. Just like Yeshua.

Roman's 6:1 is instrumental in the way Paul thought and taught about the baptism in water. He wasn't a church leader. He was the Apostle to the Church leaders, and the area that the church would be spreading the Gospel to. In essence , as an Apostle, The 12 Disciples bear responsibily given by Christ to witness to the Jews. Paul and all Those whom follow are Responsible for the rest of the world. Christ did His part is on full, so He already took responsibily, now He distributes it to us. Is Paul responsible, or is your church leader Responsible for you being baptised?

I am sorry but where do you get the idea that Hebrews was not written by Paul? It was for many reasons not the least because he wrote it. He mentions Timothy in chapter 13. The book makes 14 for the collection he wrote and he was knowledgeable enough to write it and who else would have? He did not sign it because he was Paul and writing to Jews. Why just because he did not sign it do you speculate? Just accept the obvious. Actually I find it annoying to hear you refer to the author of Hebrews, is it not easier to say Paul?

Yahusha and the disciples did not baptize the way we have been told and taught to do it in the last few hundred centuries or more. True baptism has been lost and watered down throughout the millenniums, and is that so hard to believe after over two thousand years have passed? This is why ever year thousands upon thousands of people get baptized every year and there is no change in their life at all. If you notice, there is very little to no change in the way they feel inside after these baptisms, and the little deference they do feel quickly fads within days and in some cases hours. But if you learned the true original way they were baptizing and you go through the true baptism, not only would your life change right before your eyes and before the eyes of all who know you, but also your inside will be changed to the point that all who know you would literally be able to see it, and I mean literally! For your body will actually be transfigured and your body will glow in its newly regenerated temple that we call bodies! This is not fiction, but when you learn the truth, you will find that the truth is not really stranger than fiction as they say, but it is the fiction that is strange, and the truth is liberating and will set you free from suffering.

      Amen brother....
Yes baptism is a commandment, but what is the baptism we are to partake in.....
"Depart from me I do not know you...."
How can you and I know Him apart from faith and trusting and abiding in His Word...
I find it is so much easier to trust in the Holy Spirit to lead and interpret the Holy Word of Elohim...
In Yeshua we have our hope, and through Him we live by faith...
Romans 4:3 NKJV - For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Romans 4:9 NKJV - Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.
Romans 4:13 NKJV - For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
Galatians 3:6 NKJV - just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
James 2:23 NKJV - And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
Acts 2:38 NKJV - Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11 NKJV - “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Ezekiel 36:24-27 NKJV - “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV - And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Revelation 19:11-13 NKJV - Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV - In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Baptize is Greek Βαπτίζω, means to submerse - into the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ.!
    Acts 19
    1. And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
    2. He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
    3. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4.Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
    5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
    7. And all the men were about twelve.
    ...
Do you have the Holy Spirit.???

Thank you for your video but I do need to shine light in error of this video at the 24:20 mark regarding the thief on the cross not getting baptized before he was saved! Correct he was saved because Jesus was still alive on the cross and that era hasn’t passed away until Jesus dies. Scripture says in Hebrew 9:16 “ where a will exist the death of the one who made it must be established “! Thus the new covenant wasn’t established until Jesus last breath Nissan 14 , AD 33 at 3 pm when He cried out “ IT IS FINISHED “ that is when the new era begins and baptism is needed to receive Gods Holy Spirit ( acts 2:38) and the great commission commands us to baptism them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Why? Because that is when God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey( 1 thess 4:8) Thank you for making the changes to your errors in this video since Satan will try to deceive us in all things even to not being able to receive The Holy Spirit. May God bless your ministry as you are moving mountains and shutting the mouths of the lions so truth can prevail just having to kick the stones one might stumble over that can cause false salvation and loss of a soul. God bless

As many of you as have been baptized into Christ (immersion) have put on Christ.
Baptism isn’t a “work” it’s a washing away of sin. Do, after that representative washing, should we sin so that Grace may abound? Yah forbid.
The verses you quoted are evident that after Jesus resurrection, in order to be “in Christ,” baptism must take place. The death with Christ isn’t literal, but representative of his death, burial and resurrection.
Why do you think the ones who received the Spirit were baptized? Because it meant nothing? What of the Ethiopian eunuch and Philip? Why wasn’t he just told to move on in belief?
Why was Paul baptized after he received back his sight?
Are you implying everyone who believes is saved? A once saved always saved ideology?
I’ve followed y’all faithfully up to this point. You’re way off in this one. I’m so disappointed.
    Romans 6 is clear
    Colossians 2 is clear
    I Peter 18 is clear
    Galatians 3 is clear
We are told to learn the gospel, repent and be baptized, in that order.
Why should the believers who were baptized into John’s baptism need to be baptized again if belief is the marker for salvation?
I don’t believe that baptism is a work, but I do believe it’s required, as I accept scripture as it’s given.
I also believe that faith is exhibited by good works as stated in James.
    Faith without works is dead.
Faith is the belief in things we cannot see, yet believe.
    Hebrews 11 is clear
It’s also evident in scripture that the gospel must be believed before baptism, so infants cannot believe it. Infants also cannot have faith. So, where are infants in your scenario?
We are heirs with him, if we are Christs, and the only way we can be Christs is baptism.
What the Israelites went through was a type of baptism, but it was not baptism into Christ. What the ark represented was not baptism into Christ. These things pointed forward to Christ.
I will continue to research things as I don’t ever believe I know it all. That said, this left me cold.

It's not optional, baptism is a commandment and your entry sign to Messiah's priesthood--Melchizedek--the holy nation of priest. YHWH Himself warned that nobody that's uncircumcised in the flesh would enter the promised land of milk and honey, and Joshua took it upon his own hands to circumcise all males with a knife. You have to be ceremonially clean to enter His eternal temple, New Jerusalem. It's like showing up to the King's wedding with casual clothes, HE WILL KICK YOU OUT! The thief on the cross was personally invited in by the King and given clothes because he didn't have the opportunity to get one himself. That's not the case for most of us. Don't test God.

      Hi,
Yes baptism is a commandment, but what is the baptism we are to partake in.....

@@kyritsitonakis5802 I agree, scripture has to be interpreted/discerned by the spirit. I don't agree with what I wrote two years ago at all; at the time I was seeking for knowledge but had no spiritual discernment and thus took things in the literal sense, which is wrong.

      Brother,
You have a heart able to receive the Word of God because you have a heart able to receive correction....
Our Father says He give grace to the humble and resists the proud...
Such a profound piece of scripture, given we require grace to be saved...praise God
James 1:21 NKJV - Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
Praise be to God for your faith in His Holy Spirit to teach...
May I ask, only if you have inclination to share, what you have come to understand and now believe about baptism according to the Word of God.....
Many blessings to you my brother
      Much love🙏❤

@@kyritsitonakis5802 I really appreciate your kind words. My level of spiritual discernment is like a smidgen to an ocean.
If I were to try to explain the symbolism of baptism, I'd say it represents the cleansing of our soul from the layers of added stains based on falsities we become entangled by when we lose ourselves in the world. Love is what saves our soul which cleanses all darkness, and any "truth" not derived from love is falsity. John's baptism was of repentance because one cannot abide in love without first repenting of our evils. The Lord's baptism which is by spirit represents a re-writing of our hearts which was once lost in evils, but from repentance one can re-write the heart to seek truth derived from God's love. Fire also serves to cleanse one's soul from all impurities like the process of purifying gold. All in all, the process of baptism seem to symbolize the process of repentance leading to a change of heart, which is often achieved by very painful means like hitting rock bottom.

My brother you have far more discernment than that....
The moment you pray for discernment is the moment God begins to open your eyes...it is an expression and confession of our need for him and his wisdom...2 Cor 3:16.
You loving words of encouragement and kindness toward me are warmly received and humbling alt the same time.....
      Thankyou....🙏
To understand the importance of how necessary it is to live in the Spirit I often go to Paul's first letter to the Corinthians....
I can comprehend now why he spent the first two chapters emphasising the Spirit....for in Corinth, like today, many do not believe they need Jesus because their assessment is with a carnal mind and how it would impact their carnal life....and if as you say they are nowhere near rock bottom...Jesus makes no sense....
And so Paul appeals to the spiritual ears of his audience, knowing that God has prepared each person to hear his voice by faith....Rom 12:3, Rom 10:9-17.
Similarly baptism now is a new covenant baptism....and every new covenant command and precept and statute is a Spiritual one....because we cannot receive these instructions but by faith....
Amazingly our Father was already prophesying Spiritual baptism in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36 700BC)....these are cornerstone prophetic passages of the laws being written upon our hearts and His Spirit being given to each of us (Also in Joel 2:28-32)....
In fact 800 years before that He set in motion Spiritual circumcision (Deut 10:16 and Deut 30:6....book ends if you will).....
Thus it has always been the heart of our Father, that we would seek after Him and with His blessed help, He made a way through the revelation of His Son our Saviour Jesus Christ....the perfect spiritual mirror to gaze into daily.....
So I now look at baptism through the lens of what Spiritual instruction have we been given....
The three passages that speak to the baptism of a new covenant believer (contrasted with old covenant) are....
      Old Covenant
      Matt 3:11
      John the Baptist
      New Covenant
      Acts 2:38
      Peter the Apostle
The way from one to the other...
      Matt 28:18-20....
I believe the most important part of understanding the baptism command is understanding the instruction of Jesus when He gave the command....Matt 28:18-20
To baptise (be immersed) in the name.....
I pray Holy Spirit continues to bless you as you search the scriptures to come to know more deeply our Saviour....
May the Lord continue to bless you and shine His face upon you my beloved 🙏❤
