triped out Alice In Chains? Nah, I was thinking along the lines of Black Label Society, meeting Soundgarden, but with a twist of some classic Pantera. If it doesn't sound like it, 🙏please don't hold it against me. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Scott Bryan I say that because I still think it's true. Rex has honestly never had to push his vocals. He was never a lead singer. Plus on top of which him and dime had to harmonize together in pantera. On top of which he did backing in down with Phil when Phil still could sing. Plus kill devil hill helped out vocally as well. Is he gonna sound like the albums? Probably not. Is he not gonna suck probably. I still have faith for the guy!
Jesse Deleon &+ Scott Bryan I fully stand by this ,& I hope you guys get to see him & his band, wherever you guys are in the Mainland. But, here in Hawaii, & especially here on Maui, he would be very well received here. And I hope you guys agree with me on this... Don't we all miss Dimebag? I would've loved to blazed a few with him, knock back a case of Heineken's & a bottle of Crown, & had a shot of his Black Tooth Grin. ✌☮🕊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
HOLY FUCK!!! I didnt even notice!!! Thanks for pointing that out. Been wondering what Johnny been up to. Sweet to see him with Rex!!! My 2 favorite bands, kinda together.
Rex has always been my favorite member.....Remember getting drunk with him at backstage in Houston before they made it big.............I am so glad he is doing well........Now to get my ass up and playing again.......
Digging the New Rex Brown album Smoke on This! Cool guy, met him in Cincinnati in 2007 :) Like Zakk Wylde, I'm loving the Vocals. Rock On Forever Rex 🤘🎸🎶 R.I.P Big Vinnie Paul ~ I miss u already 💔🤘😇
Dime's "Damageplan" did better but I'm suprised by the Vocal capabilities of Rex here. Never felt like he stood out in Pantera, clearly he's underrated!
Gets in, makes his point, and gets out--how rock n' roll is that? Catchy riff, good chorus, strong vocals with character, it's all in there. Good show!
Pitchfork Matt Hey Pitchfork Matt, I've got a Zig Zag Story for you, regarding our boy, REX. I met him about 5 months, after Pantera, opened up for Suicidal Tendencies, & Exodus. I got off of work, in North Hollywood, CA; I bought a chili cheese burger, no onions( hey, you're going to get the munchies, after you blaze a Dimebag of some good weed, lol). I got the burger, but the assholes still gave me onions. I took a finger, sliding off the burger, & they landed at this dude's feet. Thank God I didn't get them on his shoes. "Wow! I'm glad to see somebody wearing a Suicidal T-shirt!" I was like "Sorry about that. I hope I didn't mess your shoes up. "Nah, it's all right. But I've opened up for them before." Being an Angeleno from Los Angeles, you tend to be a bit skeptical, so I entertained him for a bit to see if he's full of it. "Okay then, what band are you with?" The man goes "I play in Pantera!" I literally was awestruck, & blown away at the same time. "Yo! I fucking saw you guys tear it up at The Glen Helen Ampatheater, in Irvine." Then, he stuck his hand out to shake mine, & introduced himself. "My name is Rex, & I play bass!" Him & Dimebag, were the ones, who got me into listening to their music, & yes, I know that I'm big black, & look suspected, but I blasted their music, & anything fucking metal, in the hood, pissing off the bloods & the crips, lol. Even though Dimebag Darrell passed away, metal will never die, & fade away out of existence. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The entire record isn't bad. Unique. Interesting. Tbh, I feel it's almost similar to Jerry Cantrell's solo work. It's pretty much art-rock. Didn't expect it to be as it is.
Goddamnit I wish Dime was here to see his friend and bandmate ripping shit up , this is absolutely killer , so weird but good at the same time to hear Rex on vocals and to see him play electric guitar and not bass , cool as fuck ! \M/
This song is so freakin' good. Love the black and white video, 'cause it gives that nice classic 70's vibe in all the right ways...feels like Rex Brown and Co at the Fillmore. That's gotta happen. Rex on guitar AND vocals. He just kicks ass. Smokin band. Man, I just love this tune.
What! Hell yeah Rex!!!!! Been a fan since day one Rex!! I always wondered how much more talent you had, being a base player sometimes you are held back.. killer song Rex!! Excited to hear the rest my man!!
Caught their exclusive post-NAMM performance in Nashville this past Friday night. Also happened to be their 1st gig as a band. They absolutely killed it. Very impressive. Ready for the album to drop!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Oh, yea. I can see Dime and Vinnie banging their heads to this in full approval saying "Put some stank on it, spank it, and send it to the people!" Awsome music from Rex!
I think we should see a Slash & Rex tour. Quite similar sounds. They’re definitely carrying the torch for that good ol dirty hard rock & roll. R&FnR as Slash calls it.
Rex Brown... on vocals? Wow
This sounds really really good
throatguitar
I'm more surprised to see him playing guitar instead of bass.
Old Aerosmith vibe
Jason M REX IS THE MAN!!!!!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
hmm i got more of an Alice in chains vibe from it ... great sound !!!
triped out Alice In Chains?

Good stuff. Rex has a surprisingly good voice
GetYourPull18 Auto tune
the guitarist in this video, Lance Harvill, has a great voice. I was bumped when I realised that he won't be singing on this album
No he dont.
Classic rock vibes. Old school kick ass
You mad? @@Paranoid_Alchemist
Rex was a very underrated member of Pantera. His bass work was a vital part of that rythm section.
How can anybody in a popular band be an underrated musician if everyone known what their role is.
And even the leads !
@@metallion0738 I just meant the rest of the band was so iconic, Rex is rarely mentioned, let alone spotlighted.
underrated tf you saying bruh maybe for you man.
@@leechviolator you mean you actually need me to define the word "underrated"? Tf you mean MAN?
I grew up with Pantera and I just found this. I never knew Rex had a solo career. Or could sing. This is pretty good.
Same here brother! It kicks ass!
How can 126 people dislike this ? Finally great American rock
DIme was so proud and smiling
Vinnie too
...and headbangin
More like rolling over and throwing up.
@@nathueil1 I agree
It's like a Pantera-ish tone and riff with like Guns n Roses lyricism and vocals. Holy shit this is amazing.
This is fucking awesome
Soup You should do a cover!
Soup check out our music. Huge fan of your channel. \m/
Aww fuck yeah soup 🤘
Amen
Hell yeah soup, pantera rules!
To play bass in Rex Brown's band, you've to be pretty confident. He was insane on the Pantera era!
I absolutely love everything Rex Brown produces/writes/performs. He's extremely original and a gifted artist. Cheers ! 😊
Considering how much Rex has been through alcohol and drug wise his voice is surprisingly good.
Tone of Passion never fades away.
Jesse Deleon yeah wait til his first live show away from the studio where they can correct pitch and all the other stuff then well see if you say that
Studio effects can make anyone sound good

@@mikemorgan548 yes but actually in this video it's really not him

Well he was the their bassist. And he was Down's bassist for a while.
dude listen to the early mix version of floods and pay attention to his work on the solo, he was fucking amazing
This song is pure American rock n roll!!!!!! Keep it going Rex!!!!
Gets in, makes his point, and gets out--how rock n' roll is that? Catchy riff, good chorus, strong vocals with character, it's all in there. Good show!
You and Phil keep PANTERA spirit ALIVE , Good Job REX :D
Ya can't hide talent
#Pantera4life🤟 great work Rex we want more
Rex the most diverse member of Pantera.
Pitchfork Matt I'd say it's him and Dimebag because Dimebag used to
Play drums and Dimebag is also really good singer
Heavy Metal head Yes Dime was the other one, sad he is no longer with us.
lol ,.,No he isn't..
disagree, respectfully

This may be the swift kick in the ass that rock music is needing at the moment. Very well done Mr. Brown.👍
He’s like a heavy metal Tom Petty
Very well said! I think so too!
Ha! I'm not the only one!
Let's see former bass player from Pantera UH yeah I guess you could say he's HEAVY
Lmao yea
Hahaha yea he is man but he isnt dead
Is that Johnny Kelly from Type o negative on drums? YESSSSSSSSS THIS IS AWESOME
Saw them together in 94(5?) Pantera and type o.
The bass and guitars are mixed so fucking well.
It sounds so monster and fine.

That's the drummer from Type O Negative👍🏻
Stoner, Southern Rock!
Good, old fashioned & hard driving rock - never heard of this chap before, but the drive & energy is great. More of that, please.
that main riff is so addicting, both the riff itself and the tone is perfect
Johnny Kelly a legend among men!! forever (-)

Because the other guys were just in another level.

Rex doing Texas proud
Someone call Gene and let him know that Rex brought rock back to life.

Awesome! Muscle rock with lots of melodies! One of the greatest bass players on vocals!
Rex Brown was always over looked in Pantera, but now it's his time to shine!
Phil and Rex should form a supergroup with other guys from Type O Negstive
