Siya is only Siya in a gold and green jersey....he is average in club going back however many years. Save the drama for your mama Siya....you are average!!!!!! Poor performance in France...very average on full display. Stop the whining and just go back to SA where u are a superstar.
High profile players often aren’t worth the money that they’re paid when transferring countries. Think it’s especially true for Kiwis and Safas who always play an extra 10% better when pulling on the national jersey.
If Siya Kolisi was to return to South Africa, regardless of which club he plays for he could massively help the stars of the future. If he were to move to the Sharks he could support Mngomezulu, if he were to move to the Lions he could support Sanele Nohamba, Quan Horn etc, if he were to go to the Bulls he could support Cameron Hanekom, if he were to move to the Stormers he could support Libbok. So honestly it’s a massive unknown as to which club he would sign for if he were to return to SA.
The standard of rugby in France is higher than in Japan. Kolisi has reached the peak of his career. I am seldom super-impressed with his performance. He's average to good, without being spectacular.
If the standard of rugby was higher in france perhaps they’d be world champions or champions of something. Only good team they have is Toulouse, the rest kinda sucks. Even La Rochelle choked a game against the stormers while the stormers were playing absolute garbage on the day. Only people saying france has a higher standard is French people cause they’ve never played outside. You look at the French national team and they rely quite a bit on immigration meanwhile look at SA and you have depth with all 100% SA born and raised players. All france has is money cause cities are part owners in lot of cases so they have lot of tax player money to throw around. Look at Racing and Toulon and they can afford the best international players and still can’t get titles. Toulouse is the only club that’s quite a force to be reckon with the rest are flat out garbage outside of france. Yet SA clubs don’t have billions to throw around and still dominate, won one championship and nearly won the URC. When you look at those tournaments you have more SA clubs reaching the semis and finals than there are french clubs making it there. It’s also because France never question themselves, they have lot of pride but not much to show for it. If they lose it’s the ref or the weather or anything under the sun except we didn’t play our best on the day or the other team was better. It’s not just rugby its the same in soccer, if they win then it’s let’s celebrate unity and inclusion and everyone is French but when they lose it’s there’s to many immigrants in the teams. 2018 when they won the World Cup on soccer they were happy to have players of African descent but now they losing then theirs to many foreigners. Meanwhile SA as prideful as us fans are one we get to be cause the boks put in the work and they still do and when we don’t we supporters are the first to kak on them and except better. When we lost to Italy we kakee hard on them and sure went overboard but it fuelled the fire that would lead to 2019 cause the players that remained felt they let us down so they hit the deck and put in the work. Having learned rugby in SA that’s what I was taught, if you played kak on Saturday you knew on Tuesday you were going to suffer. Coach will come out and say “y’all kaked cause you unfit so you going to run today” if we lost but gave our all, stuck to our game and stayed composed till the end then Tuesday was a breeze cause the other team was just better and it happens sometimes you give everything and still lose, such is life. Those are the values I was taught and coaches were great at telling you why you were getting punished, not because you lost but because you let the opposition get in your head. Because you started bickering with your teammates and lost cohesion. To remember one time we were mocking about beginning of practice so we ended up running all afternoon. Coach said “you want to mock about fine, I’m not going to teach you any tactics or plays you’ll run all day. On Saturday you won’t know any moves but you will be the fittest team out there I guarantee it” he wasn’t wrong cause that fitness and discipline helped greatly later on in the season.
don't think André Esterhuizen is an example of "grass not greener" narrative. was at quins 4 years and very effective this is my perspective. european sides signing SA players only works if they aren't in bok set up. (du preez boys, lleyds, rhule, Augustus, Hanro Liebenberg etc. Why, they're available all season and can perform. for boks (eben, siya, kolbe trevor) you essentially play rugby all year. no off season because you have july test, then rugby championship and November tests. all that workload means somewhere they won't be available or perform well if they're drained, subsequently annoying billionaire owner beause huge salary no justified. don't think it's a coincidence so many boks are in japan now, easier to manager load and be available for boks while sharks have the deep pockets, Siya was at his best at stormers. Perhaps that is also better for Rachel and the kids, i'm speculating of course.
Your comment is very relevant. It's exactly what i wanted to comment. Top 14 is a very long an physical + the European cup + the international game. And because SA is on a SH calendar for the test match there no space to rest. Like you mention the SA who succed in the top 14 are not in the boks set up because doing both is top hard
Interesting post. Of course there are exceptions such as Faf or Kolbe but I think you are right that SA players not in contention for national selection probably are more likely to have successful careers in the European sides. For one thing they wouldn’t be in the middle of any non contractual arguments between clubs and their national teams unless they had negotiated this when they signed. In the case of Faf, Sale were very supportive of his international aspirations. On the flip side Toulon became frustrated with Eben during his time at Toulon at his unavailability for his club due to injury or international duty. I imagine this is a very tough spot to be placed in. I look at the South African signings we had at Saracens and all save Koch and Brits when he got recalled were we all out of Bok selection and were excellent for the club and very popular with the fans
The grass is always greener because there is more shit across the fence. The French culture might be great but some of those French rugby bosses must be real bastards and he is probably not been treated with the same level of respect he has got used to in SA. His rural township roots is worlds apart from Europe. He is a down to earth person and I think he likes rugby for the game it is and not for the money.
I’m French lived in Cape Town for a decade been back in france for a year and I already want to leave 😂 the french are as annoying as Americans and only slightly less ignorant but still have this complex of thinking their country is the greatest when they’ve never stepped out. Also lately the racism is out of control but ironically kicking out immigrants will kill their chances at any trophy in rugby or soccer 😂
I hope and hoped Siya would stay away from South Africa and South African rugby. Everyone has an opinion on this guy and that level of scrutiny cannot be good for the guy. South African rugby fans are not renowned for their gratitude - it will never be enough.
I had a feeling this would happen when he announced his move to France, that he would eventually come back humbled. As a dedicated Bok fan, I’ve been worried for a while that Siya, our captain and the face of the team, would struggle outside the Bok system. His performance peaked at the 2019 Rugby World Cup and hasn’t been the same since. I believe that promising young talent is being overlooked because of Siya’s ‘Mandela Effect’ in the rugby world. This isn’t his fault, but rather due to the influence of SA rugby authorities and possibly the government and fans. Time for the Boks to move on from the Kolisi era.
Nothing wrong with Siya's Performances @RWC 2023 & even in Irish-Tests.... I honestly didn't think it was a Good idea for Siya to stay in France & Play for French-Club cos thought they'd be sour I think he doesn't want to be there for this reason.... I mean the French-Ppl are pretty renowned for not being the most delightful to begin with to put it mildly..... Siya is the Bok-Captain + well Boks spoilt the French-Party + reason why France got knocked-out of RWC 2023 & well French-Rugby still suffering RWC-Hangover during Siya's time there!!!!
Money is always a big draw card. However being the status symbol in your own country does not transfer to a foreign country. Also agree with Rassie that the captaincy should go to a South African based player, who is loyal to his country. If you move for more money then obviously money is more important and you should not be considered for any position over a local guy who has slogged and worked hard in the absence for these money leavers.
He didn't transfer to another country. His professional contracts are the Springboks and Racing 92. His transfer to France brought 17 million Rand to our country. Money that the Sharks use to pay real South Africans who work at the Sharks and real players who live and play in South Africa. Who would turn down that amount of money in SA in this economy? Siya also get to makes bank to ensure his family will be set for life, his grandchildren's lives too.
He will not play anywhere but in sa there he must play fair for his place and not get in the team for political purposes the weakest link in bokteam please let him stay in France
He's a very average club player. At the Stormers he was good, but not outstanding ,not anything like when he plays for the Boks. At the Sharks he looked similarly uninspiring.Just hope we're not saddled with him at the Stormers, but he'll probably end up here.
I think Rassie is his inspiration at the Bok level. But he played good Enought at the Stomers to warrant a look in at the Bok camp. Dobbo has been adamant of not Going on a buying spree not that there is some mulla in the coffers. They won't pay his transfer fee as SARU has indicated they will not foot the bill either. BFF Sharks or the Bulls
South Africa can spawn many more Sia type of players. SA have a pool of players that coming through the ranks and up from youth that is insane . So the real question here is , why do we need to pay millions…. For Anty Player. We can alo soon create the first AI Rugby playing Robots that could replace all humans soon…
The French properly knows now that he only became a springbok and was made a captain of the now mixed springboks due to political reasons witch means he was no good from the start to be a real springbok rugby player and for sure never had what it takes to be a springbok rugby captain
want to leave because he is useless, they have found out how he hides behind his team mates, weak pathetic captain always replaced in games when the game is close. most overrated player i have seen in years
Siya plays a blinder of a game for his first test of the year, then he just goes missing for the remainder of the season. Maybe it's time to retire with all those millions, he's not in the same league as veteran stars like Etsebeth and Marx, for instance. Good luck to him though on whatever he decides.
Kolisi is not even a Superstar X-Factor player like Cheslin Kolbe or Etzebeth. So it doesn't make sense why Sharks are gonna keep wasting money on him. We don't want him in Cape Town. You can't have one iffy season and run back home after relocating your entire family to Paris, thug it out, you're still Springbok Captain and making R30mil plus a year. What's the big deal
Yet once he left the sharks struggled 😂 and hard 😂 y’all only see players as good when they are showy and score tries but you don’t see the hard workers and those who do the little things that keep the machine going. When you do you’ll finally really understand the intricacies of rugby. Also remember when Dan Carter moved to Racing in 2016 ? Starting the season with like back to back man of the match performances ? Yeah he left for Japan after one season because Paris and their clubs are just toxic. Toulouse doesn’t have that problem because they treat their players well and the city is enjoyable. Even Toulon holds on to players longer than Paris clubs cause Paris is just toxic generally. Might be fun to visit for a week or two but if you live there you will be miserable and there’s a reason anyone you see in the street that’s not a tourist on holidays is miserable never smiling and if you dare greet a stranger they’ll look at you like you are some alien. If you move to france move to the country side people are nice, even my family that’s been living there for over 3 decades now just can’t wait to leave and retire and have told me to never move there. I lived with them for a few months and even that was just miserable and I was with family I love and don’t get to see much so alone I’d probably want to jump off a balcony after 3 months. Compare this to Cape Town where I lived for a decade despite all the problems most people still seem genuinely happy to be alive, they aren’t frowning 24/7 like they living under Stalin
they have seen what we have seen for years, he is overrated and overpriced. Has never ever been an international standard player. Cannot be mentioned in the same breath as Cheslin Kholbe
If I were Siya I wouldn’t have moved to France after screwing them in the RWC AT HOME. They didn’t receive him well. Come home Siya and pick up where you left off. ❤ Siyakthanda apha
Kolisi has been found out in France. His performances have been average. A liability to a team when he only plays 40-50m and has low work rate and application in most games he plays these days. He should, on form, not be in the Bok squad.
He was to slow and over weight the Racing coach tell him and Rassie that his slow and over weight. He is running away from a coach thats talking the truth. Not our best captain or nr 6 player.
I think that it's good, it's also good for local rugby as a patriot, he's always welcome home hey and money isint everything it's the love of the game and our country.
Eben, Kitshoff, JDV also struggled oversees . I think the culture in Europe is difficult unless you are going to the premiership
Let's not forget personal reason too... I'm sure it was tough on the family being in France.

@@dreammaker9642 i wont even talk about the youth, they are terrible. But they are terrible everywhere.
Siya is only Siya in a gold and green jersey....he is average in club going back however many years. Save the drama for your mama Siya....you are average!!!!!! Poor performance in France...very average on full display. Stop the whining and just go back to SA where u are a superstar.
If my employer was talking shit about me in public I’d leave too.
Any club buy him will loose money he is not worth buying he got no loyalty in him
He should finish his contract. Not great running away after not performing.
Not sure the Bulls need him. Their loose trio is complete
Uprooting his entire family after living their entire lives in SA can’t be easy. As much as they were on the road etc.. there is no place like HOME.
That's not the reason why. He's experiencing racism probably. The grass isn't greener in the other side.😊
Sacha plays for the Stormers though
I would love to have Siya back but that will be a hefty fee that the unions and SARU should spend on the feeder structures instead.
There is nothing as exciting like home Come home where you belong
Typical Siya doesn’t want to finish his contract because he misses the attention he gets in SA, I hope he pays that breakage fee
He must stay away from the bulls, we have too many young and up and coming loosies for him to steal game time.
Hier is genoeg manne wat beter is as siya. Laat hom maar daar bly. Hy speel nie vir die game nie hy speel vir geld.
don't think André Esterhuizen is an example of "grass not greener" narrative. was at quins 4 years and very effective
this is my perspective. european sides signing SA players only works if they aren't in bok set up. (du preez boys, lleyds, rhule, Augustus, Hanro Liebenberg etc. Why, they're available all season and can perform.
for boks (eben, siya, kolbe trevor) you essentially play rugby all year. no off season because you have july test, then rugby championship and November tests. all that workload means somewhere they won't be available or perform well if they're drained, subsequently annoying billionaire owner beause huge salary no justified.
don't think it's a coincidence so many boks are in japan now, easier to manager load and be available for boks
while sharks have the deep pockets, Siya was at his best at stormers.
Beter he stay were he is bad buy for any sa team only play 50 min.
Aka Racism
Who wouldn't want to leave France 💀 there's French people
Ikr 💀
French (Parisiens) known to be super-rude.
Don't generalized please. Its like saying all white south africans are racist. Dont show your mentality.
I’m French lived in Cape Town for a decade been back in france for a year and I already want to leave 😂 the french are as annoying as Americans and only slightly less ignorant but still have this complex of thinking their country is the greatest when they’ve never stepped out. Also lately the racism is out of control but ironically kicking out immigrants will kill their chances at any trophy in rugby or soccer 😂
so much hate about us
Put him in the woman's rugby team.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Come back brother South Africa is your home!!!!Yes
He will join the sharks since his BFF is there
I hope and hoped Siya would stay away from South Africa and South African rugby. Everyone has an opinion on this guy and that level of scrutiny cannot be good for the guy. South African rugby fans are not renowned for their gratitude - it will never be enough.
To costly!!!!!! To have him .......
Oh my word... who wants to sign him now... he is chasing the 💵 🌈
Maybe he's not famous in France 😂
You have a good point.. Nostalgia n emo aside
Does he have another 3 years in him.
Another leg injury and it's tickets, lotsa games local,Urc and tests between.
Kolisi was one of the best players at the 2023 World Cup. What rugby were you watching?... After that injury comeback he was unbelievable
I think its a bit iffy and wishy washy flippy floppy with these over paid players not fulfilling contracts, and shows awful characteristics.
He will not play anywhere but in sa there he must play fair for his place and not get in the team for political purposes the weakest link in bokteam please let him stay in France
Seeing as he’s invisible to them, he should come home and keep getting paid by them 😂
Under contract, stay in France, will not be the best next world cup.
Those french are real pesants,I don't blame him lol
The French dont pay money for crap
I would leave France because of the French.
Why running away get a new captain
I am glad if Siya coming back welcome one of your fans🏉🏉
There's no place like South Africa.
He can stay there the springboks do not need him
South Africa can spawn many more Sia type of players.
Come to the Cheetahs Siya!
To do what 😢😢
the Cheetahs dont need him
@@lenroos6624 😂😂
want to leave because he is useless, they have found out how he hides behind his team mates, weak pathetic captain always replaced in games when the game is close. most overrated player i have seen in years
I agree with you on some level
Like the program so much but can we walk away from the “ moer “ that button
Why do you think players from good countries would move to the 3rd world?
Do you even know what 3rd world means bud?
Please stay away from the Bulls we have real rugby players already
You don't like anything, serve your self
@@kudakwashemotsi9071 don’t be a pussy please.
Only Bulls or Sharks can afford him
Bulls don't need him he will not get game time maybe in the curriecup
they dont need him,fullstop
they have seen what we have seen for years, he is overrated and overpriced.
Welcome home Siya.
Be honest!! He is a CRISTIAN. Why would he stay in france
Jake would play him in the CC.
Jake will not pick him for any bulls team he is useless
Kolisi has been found out in France. His performances have been average. A liability to a team when he only plays 40-50m and has low work rate and application in most games he plays these days. He should, on form, not be in the Bok squad.
I take it you’ve been watching different games to the rest of the world
The best words this whole year and the well said. He should on form not be in the Bok squad. 👌👌👌
Sharks want him back
Goodday. Overseas he has to perform and he couldn't. In South Africa bee is his ticket to stardom.
With respect he should not be there. Cobus🐳
France Rugby dont deserve Bok players at all..We want the money .they want the Wins...no one loose...but dont treat SA player's like 2nd class..
Come home Kolisi
Welcome back Siya...please go to the Stormers where your rugby career started
Who wants to lie on table half naked and pretend to be a Blue Bull. Who wants to be French right now?
Siya kolisi must come back to south africa
Rocnation...
Come Siya where you belong - we love you!
France is no longer France. Come home there is no place like SA.
Come back home our captain, you have enough money. France sucks anyway.
Yeah. it's hard when the race card is declined....
Thik is good for as
Siya, BJ and Roos sounds good to me
nah fourie is better
Not slow mo Siya please.
Arrr
Because he’s useless and not wanted🤷♂️
He was to slow and over weight the Racing coach tell him and Rassie that his slow and over weight. He is running away from a coach thats talking the truth. Not our best captain or nr 6 player.
