I live in Serbia, nothing she does is for the sake of Serbian people. Poverty levels are insane, freedom of media is non-existent, our courts are privatized by ruling party that is in coalition with mafia. So, no, we're miles from being ready to join anyone. People in Serbia need to wake up and get these people out of government positions they're at, it's the same people for the last 30 years. When she said that a lot has been done in a last decade, I could applaud the nerve she has. All the prices are up, food, fuel, electricity, yet they steal pensions, salaries, and make fake promises about things getting better in a year or two. It's been 6 years, they mostly did nothing, except for shopping light-show fountains with tax-payers money that would cost at least a third in a normal country.

Don't be one of those hipsters who thinks that everything this government does is bad just because its by Vucic or someone from SNS. Listen, I don't like Vucic and his parasite party but there are some things I think he should get credit for. For example, our macroeconomic outlook is much much better and surely going in the right direction, every economic statistic is showing that and frankly if it ends up to be true that our GDP will have a 4.5% growth in 2018 that would be amazing. All this talk over the media is unsubstantiated. I simply can't see the problem in Serbian media, I think it's functioning just fine. Our foreign policy is also not that bad, actually far better than anything from the last 30 years or so. Infrastructure is developing at a decent rate and it seems that it is getting faster and faster though not by much.
Of course there are bad things: school system is a catastrophe, shady business in the public parasite companies like, state of the parliament, high taxes and more. HOWEVER, I think that this government is doing a far better job than the previous DS led government, and since they are the main opposition aside from the crazies I think we have least bad government out of our not very broad options.

@Bobby Collins Precisely what you said - most of my country is still trapped in the sentiment of 90's and all the way back in Tito era. Most of people are poor, trying too keep their jobs even if payed unacceptably low by any standard. This government threatened a lot of workers that if they don't vote for the dominant party (SNS) they would loose their jobs. Media can't report on it because the same people are holding power in biggest news networks. We are currently in a dictatorship with a few ways to send the message out. And even if someone points out that, he or she is considered a traitor or a fool.

@@petarjovanovic7715 I have no idea where you pull this info from. Our infrastructure is laughable. Proof of censored media is the fact you're stating that everything is fine. I didn't even mention Vucic in my comment man, especially when he is just a continuation of previously cancerous Radical Party. GDP - statistical method does not include a lot of factors. Same goes for unemployment rates. Neither reflect real quality of life for majority of citizens.

Firstly in one Century alone Serbs were subjected to genocide twice, loosing over two million of its population, while previously over four centuries being prosecuted, converted or displaced, I'll treated just because they were Christians by the Ottoman muslims. It is very important to remind Tim that its highly hypocritical to do this on a German TV, him who belongs to the nation who committed numerous attrocities around this World, in the name of the Crown, including the most brutal one during the 2nd Anglo Boer War. As a part of the strategy in this war British government and its expeditionary troops organised first ever concentration camps. In those camps they exterminated 26000 elderly, woman and children where 8000 of the victims were children under the age of 14. Tim if you really want to describe genocide, that is the genocide. No one was ever prosecuted for those attrocities nor British goverment ever appoligiesed for the genocide commited in their nsme. Germany, hehh, Germany has its own place in the world history of the leaders in genocide, no one could beat that record, no need to even elaborate on that. Just arrived in Serbia after spending almost a year in Croatia. I cannot imagine Serbia being that much worse than Croatia. As someone who has gone trhough the process of gaining residence permit in Croatia and trying to do all things dealing with this in the right way, I can honestly say that Croatia should not be a member of the European Union. They try to get the most money out of you as possible too without the rules being clear. Don't believe me, try moving there and see for yourself. From what I know and what people told me in Croatia, corruption is rampant, youth unemployment is high which is why so many are leaving. Plus, it's just another small country that wants all the benefits that the rest of Europeans pay for, but don't want any responsibility. No need to look further than how they have treated refugees. So, if Serbia is not that much worse than Croatia and Croatia was allowed in than so should Serbia. I would say neither country is ready though. In Serbia, she and President Vučić, who holds the real power despite occupying a constitutionally much weaker position (something like Putin-Medvedev dynamic), almost always get softball questions from state-controlled or state-influenced media with no follow-ups and zero fact-checking. They actively boycott professional and critical media and all the facts Sebastian read about the state of media freedoms are true. This is why most people from Serbia who are watching this are actually glad, because they almost never have a chance to see a tough interview with any public official at home.

It had low to no power between 2001-2004. If we ask ourselves why is everything sluggish in Serbia, that's the answer. We have still a large public sector which is feeding this network/clique/cabal.

Mr. Tim Sebastian, I will reply to your big question because Prime Minister was confused about genocide thing. Problem is in English hypocrisy. Woman and children were recorded by CNN and BBC how in buses did go on muslim side, transfered by Bosnian Serb. About 1500 man PoW were executed and about 3000 in woods fighting with Serbs refusing to surrender. Now, we can talk about genocide when UN will have court of law for this: 1. Dresden - 40.000 civilans dead by RAF fire bombs 2. Hamburg - 65.000 3. British massacres of the 20th century North King Street massacre, Ireland, 1916. ... Jallianwala Bagh massacre (Amritsar), India, 1919. ... Gujranwala massacre, India, 1919. ... Croke Park massacre, Ireland, 1920. ... Qissa Khwani Bazaar massacre, Peshawar, 1930. ... al-Bassa massacre, Palestine, 1938. ... Athens massacre, Greece, 1944. ... Batang Kali massacre, Malaysia, 1948. - British pakt with Hitler, 1938, Munchen 4. Turkey - one million Armenians 5. USA: - Indians -African Americans -Two million, Vietnam - 250.000 civilians Japan, atom bombs and radiation for 100 years of water and soil etc... - Conc camps for Japanese US citizens on US soil 6. Ussr, Katyn, Ukranian genocide by hunger, gulags etc... 7. Colonie massacres of Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands... 8. Otoman Empire with Bosnian Muslims genocides against Serbs 9. Croatian genocide against Serbs in WW2 10. Bosnian muslim genocide against Serbs in WW2 as Ustase and SS handzar 11. WWI German Genocide in Afrika 12. Japanese genocide against China etc... List goes on.... Problem is my dear Sir, that all these, or most of them, were never charged by some internation court of law, only Serbs can be charged and convicted who were on right side in WWi and WWII? Most of these were never considered as genocides what is pure horror. Your general 'Bomber Harris' admits how he wanted to throw fire bombs on Hamburg and Dresden so german civilians and children can feel horror?? And thats not genocide? When serbs shot 3000 man (or 5000 by Radovan Karadzic conviction), not woman and children, thats Genocide. When RAF kill 65.000 in Hamburg and 40.000 in Dresden including woman and children thats not Genocide???? Why dont we have international court of law for british army? American army? Thats the bigest problem when Serbs say that genocide was not in Srebrenica. You dont have a moral right to judge what Serbs did when you did much worse atrocities, your is not genocide, and what serbs did is genocide? Yea right. If Serbs accept this genocide thing than they are extremely stupid people.
