Thank you for all the videos covering plasma cutters, especially the simple but confusing topcs. You have answered a lot of my questions with your videos
I might be a bit late to the party on this one but long tips are better to run along a straight edge or template to keep the torch straight. Keep up the great videos. Cheers.
Some cutting tips have a cross grooved into the point and some don't. What is the difference? For a long time I thought that was the difference between the drag tip and the standoff tip??
@@petestools I think I heard or read that it's for the air flow and I think the groves are on the flat wider tip ones that are more for flat cutting, and the pointier ones are for the hard to get corner areas like Pete was saying the longer tips are for. Also for holding close or dragging with less flash. That's my very limited understanding of it anyway...

I don't know what the groove are for some have it and some don't.
mine have that...I drag a lot on thin stuff, the grooves help with a place for blow back to go when punching through.

Interesting! Can you do the same with the IPT60 torches?
No different consumables cheers.
When is a tip worn out?
When it spits and farts around and wont cut.
My plasma cutter is pulsating. Even when I replace the consumables it still does the same thing.
110v or 220 ??
mine use to do that...there is a spark gap in the machine (which on mine was too close) it keep jumping here instead of on the work piece.
My plasma cutter is melting the metal
Replace the consumables
