For the next Crypt, you should make a maze where the sections out of the player's vision change every few minutes to gaslight the player into thinking the maze is far bigger than it really is. Also, there should be sections where the player gets seamlessly teleported onto other floors so they get confused when they're on a different floor without going up any stairs.

WoW had that with the "endless halls" maze. It's a genuinely stressful experience and I would 100% recommend it for a torture game.
