Origins Explained. A carnival came through my town a few years ago and one of the green iguanas liked my car apparently and climbed around my tires. Lucky for him I found him and knew he wasn't a wild lizard from the area (Tennessee.) So I took him home with me until someone could adopt the little guy. So beware of carnivals they have all kinds of animals you can win as prizes.
Cakey MarMar you're right unless it was a pet that you found in your yard and it was hurt and then you put it back. Because you know, it's supposed to be there. Save small animal lives.
Matthew Johnson no they're not. they're only mentioning ones that most people don't typically own. They didn't mention cats or dogs and what they do to wildlife or the local environment.
I don't understand why you'd ever release a pet. I had two mice that I didn't really like, but I still kept them until they died from old age. Releasing an animal that was bred in captivity into the wild is dumb and cruel. If you buy a pet you are responsible for them. People are so weird.
We never managed to teach them to handle being, well, handeled. They bit me loads of times until i basically gave up and just let them be. My babysitter actually had two mice that I really liked that were super sociable and nice, hence why we got mice in the first place after our cat died.
When I was a kid, my mum spotted a silver fox rabbit running around across the road from our house. With the help of a few people passing by, we caught him. My mum contacted people and put posters up to try and reunite him with his owner, but no one claimed him, so we took him in. We had that rabbit fifteen years. He loved to eat grapes (My Stepdad would feed him three every day, if there were four, he'd leave one and if there were two, he would bite my Stepdad), he enjoyed chasing our cats around when they were outside, and due to his escaping abilities, he even became a great grandfather. Sadly, he passed away about seven years ago now because he was ancient at that point. But apparently, the last thing he did before he died was eat a massive carrot. I miss that rabbit, he was such a character.
Damn your rabbit lived passed his prime. Their life line is usually 8-12 years. I hope my rabbit lives as long as yours. She's only one years old now, I plan to get her fixed so hopefully she will.
Holy shit! That's a lot of fckn rabbitsWell that's just another animal they have a large abundance of.. Check out the Australia Mouse Plague video ( happens every ten years. Easily a million mice shown in that video alone)
Cause no one cares I mean so the gold fish eats other fish and now it's a gold fish lake ya that's umm..... awful I think... I get it but as a person who only cares for domestic animals idk
yeah... that is what I was thinking, fuck 'pet owners'. it's mistreatment of animals anyway, they get to shit everywhere and are a nuisance to everyone but the owners.. they're put away for their enjoyment and lead meaningless lives. maybe living on a farm, you could justify having a dog.
I found a wild turtle on the sidewalk while walking home from school. It was friendly, so we picked it up and let it go in our local creek by our school. Now whenever I get out of school, I go down to the creek to see the turtle who always swims up to me and lets me pet it.
A domesticated rabbit showed up outside our rabbits hutches. It was like a somebody outside of prison asking to be locked up. Lol She is ours now and Peaches is her name.
KittyKatSpecial maybe she was lonely. Rabbits are social creatures, they live in groups. Maybe she was separated from hers and saw the rabbits in your hutches and wanted to join them.
It's possible her former owner dropped her off there in the hopes that she would be accepted into the rabbit hutch...If so, luckily for Peaches it worked. But still irresponsible of them if that is what happened.
A very small young English Lop rabbit hopped into my yard one hot summer day. No one in the neighborhood claimed her so she had her own 2 room rabbit hutch outside for the 5 years she lived with me. She had solar heating and heated water dishes in the winter and a shade tree and small fan in the summer. Bugzy was leash trained and went on walks at least 3 times a week. She was the best thing to happen that year.
Except information is generalized. Half the frogs shown as Cuban tree frogs were other native species. Except for the pythons all other snake species shown are native to the US. The white snake is a leucistic Texas rat snake. It’s caused by an aberrant gene which is rare in the wild but does happen.
The goldfish in your bowl aren't small because they're small animals. They're small because they aren't being cared for properly. Put them in a big tank or pond with sufficient filtration, and you'll see how big they get when they aren't soaking in filth with poor nutrition and insufficient space. Yes they're just goldfish, but you shouldn't keep any pet you can't or won't care for properly.
The saying, "they grow to the size of the tank/environment" is actually a myth. Just like people, their growth/size is determined by their genetics (and carp are large fish). However, keeping a goldfish in a too-small environment stunts the growth of the animal, which reaches, on average, 12-14 inches in length. The goldfish in a too-small environment will likely reach approximately 4-5 inches. While not "big", picture a 5 inch animal in a 1 gallon or smaller bowl. 5 inches is way too big. And, they can grow pretty quickly. I've cared for some that grew from 1.5/2 inches to 5 and 6 inches in less than 6 months. Not only that, but stunting a fish's growth leads to deformation, pain, and extremely poor health. A goldfish's average lifespan is roughly 20 years or so; not a "just a few days/months."Also, goldfish are very messy and produce a lot of waste. As a result, a large volume of water is necessary to dilute the toxic waste for the fish to be able to survive, as well as a large, efficient filtration system to help remove fish waste. Remember, goldfish are carp (a domesticated type thought to be descendent from wild Asian carp), and carp are known to be large and messy fish. Thus, goldfish are also large, messy fish.Taking all this into account, the bare minimum for a single goldfish to survive in would be a 30 gallon tank with equivalent filtration. Even this is too small.Goldfish are fairly social, so one should really have a group of goldfish, not just one all alone. Even a small group of 3 goldfish would require a minimum (based on the above statement) of a 90 gallon tank; although, with 3 times the waste, even 90 gallons would most likely not be enough. Basically, goldfish are really only best suited either in a large private koi pond, or in the hands of a very experienced hobbyist with plenty of room, time, and money to dedicate to the keeping of these wonderful fish.
Irwyn I got a fish once in middle school. it got a respiratory infection after just a week or so. I did research and I refuse to keep any domesticated animals other than cats or dogs now. Animals are being abused without the owners knowing every day.
its intrusive because animals don't have a choice about it, animals released in the wild with the exception of birds don't have the luxury of traveling across different environment that will suit them, so they don't have a choice but to live and breed in that area. humans on the other hand have the choice to either adapt to the environment or to change the environment to suite them, hence thats why its called conquering.
@@sandierzeszutko8192 I agree. I am not crazy about European politics, but the climate is much more suitable to me. I was born in a very sunny climate, almost every where I was stationed in the military was in a sunny location, and my university was in a sunny place. Due to work, I live in one of the sunniest areas of the country. I like rain and cloudy days. When I retire, it's either Seattle or London for me.
yeah and if you buy say a dog or cat make sure you treat them like apart of the family especially dogs and don't be a jack ass and abandon them if you cant afford them then dont buy the animal simple
One day my older brother has this baby Robin . Surprised it survived and he named it Chirp- Chirp . After a time on vacation one day my brothers attitude changed ! He had renamed it Onion and was fighting with it poking it in the beak with his finger and like that . When we returned home from vacation he said it was time to let it go . We all were pretty sure it would die . But one day about two years later there was this big beautiful Robin on our porch that seemed to let me get unusually close to it . I like to think it was Chirp Chirp stopping by to say hello . Clearly the little guy was a fighter !
I agree, it's sad that practically everyday little children are releasing their pet rocks in the wild. Maybe we should try to limit the rock population by stop releasing them in the wild. XD
Senor eggnogs I adopt pet rocks from outside all the time and someday I will polish them in my rock tumbler . I am at stage 2 in Rock Tumbling my jasper , agate found on my land 😁

In Australia, the release of pet cockatoos has been happening for so long, it is rare to find a cockatoo that doesn't speak English, or at the very least know how to say hello.
At least cockatoos are native. I haven't seen any that speak, though I have had my garden visited by some black cockatoos who spent a good half-hour enjoying the cones off a tall banksia.
Wow, that sounds very nice, I haven't seen any black cockatoos for about 4~5 years. Used to have two who'd regularly fly over the freeway on the way to work. About talking cockatoos; we used to have a pair of pecan nut and a pair of macadamia trees in the neighbour's yard. We'd get white cockatoos visiting every year. Mum damn near had a heart attack when she heard someone cheerfully saying "hello!" from the top of one of the pecan nut trees. Turns out it was one of the cockatoos. I've been pretty keen on planting some macadamia trees in our back yard to coax them back again, but my living conditions have't been stable enough to raise the seedlings past around 15cm.
carp, goldfish, and koi are all pretty much the same species or subspecies...they are all kinds of carp. it's like with dogs, horse, cats...after a few thousand years of breeding, the many colors, body shapes, and sizes, as well as mutations that you see in pet shops, have been bred by people. Carp can get very big given the right conditions...
The goldfish I've seen all have barbells. That's why their muscles were so big. Seriously, Koi are counted as goldfish in most places. It may be technically wrong, but it's one of those things that isn't going to change because, well, they're gold.
You'd do a better argument in claiming the goldfish with the bugged out eyes are not goldfish or the goldfish that are black are not goldfish. Goldfish/koi are are carp and they can have any carp feature or color within two generations.
These are all carp just different names for them "goldfish" are what we call them and the word koi こい simply means "carp" in Japanese. So the names for these fish is different based on what culture you are dealing with.
I had a pet I discovered one night, clinging to life in a meteorite. My old aquarium once cleaned and dried gave it a sunshiny place to reside. I was confused about what it might eat. Luckily it seemed to flourish on meat. Finding a match on the web drew a blank. Meanwhile it rapidly outgrew its tank. It got so big that eventually mercy compelled me to set my pet free. Later I heard in my daily news fill: "Teenagers missing from City View hill."
My Aunt one day showed me this thing that she had called a "Baby." 18 years later this baby was released into the wild. Next thing you know, it had taken over someone else's job, raided a community taking the house, got this thing called a car that caused a lot of pollution, and it found another "baby" that was about as old as it was and produced another one! Worst thing is, I found out this is a very common occurrence! Apparently, there are over 6 billion of these things in the wild today! Scary!
Huh?? Are you seriously saying I should commit suicide bc you, in your infinite wisdom, have determined for whatever reason that I am petty and want an easier life? What does that even mean? What is wrong with you?!? There is never an excuse for you to tell someone to kill themselves. Period. Secondly, I am petty; but that isn't even germane to this thread. Thirdly, I think everyone would like to have a somewhat easier life, but I wouldn't give up the struggle just to get it. I believe the journey toward spiritual growth is the reason we exist in material form, and that growth requires struggle. And finally, while I agree with you that people are afraid for their families, and we as humans do all kinds of weird stuff to protect those we love... I disagree that it is that alone which makes us the natural predator of all species. We kill for fun, too. We kill for lots of reasons.
I had a Monster(evil) goldfish named Bob once...got him at the fair along with 4 other goldfish and it stole fish food from the other fish until it was twice their size. Then Bob preceded to beat up, steal food, and then eat all 4 of the other goldfish. We then bought 2 sucker fish to clean the tank. Bob ate one but kept the other alive, probably to have a butler that cleaned up his "messes"(At this point we thought Bob was a truly evil cannibal mastermind) After 3 years we decided to get the biggest goldfish we could find(half Bob's size) but Bob didn't want any other fish in his big tank stealing his food so he beat the crap out of it when we weren't home, broke its fin and left it to die at the bottom of the tank. At that point we left Bob alone and for 7 years Bob grew until he was a little bigger than this goldfish at 3:42 in the video. Bob died then we buried Bob the Gluttonous because he would not fit in the toilet. I will never forget that evil demon...
Now at 20 years old a highly territorial and aggressive goldfish is hilarious to talk about. But back when I was 10 it was a demon that needed to be locked away into the farthest reaches of hell.
H.C's Chanel 100 percent agree, i hate how many people get pets when they cant even take care of them selfs. They get a pet every few months then get rid of it to get another. I really have a problem with people like that.
@@bethneumann87 most domesticated animals do fine in the wild. fish, lizards, amphibians, and cats. shit even dogs could probably survive in the wild. not the strays from india that are always skinny, i mean in an actual forest
We rescued SIX guinea pigs that someone had dumped on the side of the road. One had walked onto the road. When we got out to see what it was we heard squeeling. We looked and there were two more large ones and 3 babies. They were huddled together. So we collected them all and now they live here. Makes me so cranky! They could have given them to a pet shop if they wanted to get rid of them!
Thank you so much for being the kind of person that opens your life up to accomadate someone else's negligence and lack of compassion. I'm so happy they found someone to look after them~ I also have two rescued pigs. Warm wishes to your piggie family from ours :)

General rule is to never release any living thing (plants, animals, insects) in wild unless its native there. Ecosystem is really fragile thing and slow to adapt. Nature will adjust itself most of the time but it may take a looong time.
I lived in south Florida. It's already too late. There are wild tegus, wild all kinds of geckos, wild rock python, wild Nile monitor lizards which are crazy dangerous, wild iguanas everywhere, not to mention all the venomous things that got loose when the hurricanes went through several years ago. . . Oh and the biggest problem there I believe would be the feral razor backs or pigs. . . Those dam things are mean and nasty
Derek M Florida is the craziest place to me. All sorts of animals are out of hand, I heard pythons/boa constrictors have also been released and are a problem, y’all have alligators too- even the PEOPLE are on the craziest drugs in the world..... like bath salts 😖🤢it’s like a freaking zombie apocalypse there already! Don’t understand the appeal but I guess the beaches and weather when there’s not a hurricane is beautiful? I hear nightlight in Miami and the Latin dancing is great sooooo, there’s that ? :/ 😂✌️
I once found non-native animals abandoned in my area. I live in a rural area, on a dead-end road. One morning, I found a mother Guinea Pig and her three not-yet-weaned babies in my front yard. Obviously, they had not been "out" long enough to go wild because they came right to me. The mother piggy I named Iris, and she became my best little buddy for the rest of her life. She's also the piggy in my YT channel picture.
Well that was very nice of you to do that even though most probably wouldn't. They may talk alot on here but actually wouldn't do a thing but walk by so thank you for giving them a nice home to have. I hope theirs more ppl like you out in the world. Have a great day.
Dude, I just saw on the news a little while ago. Someone found a baby (human) in the middle of the road out in the middle of no where. Just a few hours old. I mean, damn.. there's a safe surrender site at the local hospital. But they opted to leave the baby in the middle of the street. In Madera CA... People are beyond irresponsible.
Pets you shouldn't release into the wild: All of them. Any pet released into the wild will either suffer for a long period until it dies, cause great environmental damage, or even become an invasive species. people need to take responsibility for the animals they chose to take into possession.
Exactly and people also have to research the animals before. Even goldfish require a lot of care and people need to know that BEFORE they buy them. People don’t get that they are living things and you’ve gotta put in to get out. Don’t expect your puppy not to bite you if you’re not gonna train it right.
If you can release something into the wild, it was never a pet. Iguana's are vegan, no meat, if they are being aggressive, something is trying to attack it, or bother eggs. Any reptiles, you can not tame it, you gain it's trust, if you can't accept that you will not dominate them, you will feel pain, especially from the iguana(s)
It’s ridiculous the amount of invasive species that are here in Florida . Probably all the snow birds bought pets then released them when winter was over and went back up north .
My dad bought a hermit crab when he was 20 he is 45 now. Our crab is named Jumbo since he was the biggest hermit crab at the store when he bought it. He is still is alive and we hope to keep him for more years.

I live in Missouri and was running on one of the more popular trails around where I live. I had stopped to take a break and sat down next to a tree. Next thing I know this little furry animal jumped right on my lap and scared the living shit out of me. Luckily I did not toss him or anything because it was a friendliest little Chinchilla ever. I thought about keeping him when a couple of super hot college girls started running by and saw me playing with him. Needless to say they ended up with a Chinchilla and I ended up with a date. Good times.
Do your research on pets before getting them. I do have a problem with Red eared slider turtles because even keeping them as pets require constant maintenance . They shit and piss in the water witch means you will get sick if you don't clean the tank and filter at least once a month or more. When they get to big I would suggest contacting habitats specifically designed to house them. Just passing off some friendly advice.
yeah, I gave my red eared turtle to local breeder 2 years ago because its getting bigger and bigger (30cm diameter) and they are really happy I didn't release it in local park hahaha
People didn't realize that they grew a lot and the small tank they usually get is not sufficient after a while. Still is a very popular and cheap pet to get for "the kids".
I was driving down a back country road with my aunt and uncle when my uncle suddenly pulled off to the side by someone's fence. I was confused until I looked at what was on the fence. It was a sweet little blue and white parakeet. My uncle managed to catch the lil bird and keep it as a pet. They still have him and they let the family kids name him sky.
You should never release ANY pet into the wild...even dogs can get to a problem as you see in some eastern europe countrys... so we all have to be carefull before we buy a pet

there was a lot of misinformation and wrong pictures in this video... the two tht pop out most to me is that goldfish, whether a pet or not, are supposed to be big and live long lives- its their owners poor handling that make them seem a small and easy pet. At 12:03 instead of a picture of a, say, dangerous snake, it showed a ball python, who are famous for being very shy and aren't a huge danger to environments, as they are often unable to defend for themselves.
Candace Byrum Most of it is there’s like 5-6 different animals that were released there you don’t half to get annoyed because you were scrolling through the comments finding someone to be rude to. Jeez

I found 3 domesticated mice while walking back home from a theater. Noticed them when I walked up and they didn't try to hide. I took them home and eventually gave them to a responsible pet owner that had other mice.
Who the hell are these freaks who think 'hey instead of a pet dog, lets get a fucking snail or frog', then end up releasing them into the wild because a snail in a tank is too tough to keep.
I had an over-sized corn-snake when i was 7, it escaped by biting through the wire mesh and going through the ventilation system, unfortunately we found it in February it has been living off of bugs INSIDE our piping under the house...

Big Gamer29 are you sure it was a hamster because it's extremely rare for hamsters to live 4-5 years as their life span is only about two years - are you sure you weren't talking about a Guinea pig?
They can if you take really good care of them by feeding them fresh foods such as fruits and veggies and give them spring water and clean there cage often every 2 to 3 days and make sure they get plenty of exercise hamster wheels are the best and healthy snacks oh and hamsters need baths from time to time consult you're veterinary for more information:)
I love how these invasive species are such a huge problem, yet in most areas its illegal to have a native animal as a pet. Yes, that includes native turtles, snakes, birds and fish
I used to live in a rural area and one day my golden retriever found a puppy on our property. I thought he was lost so I tried to find his owners but a neighbor said they saw him being dumped. I still have him a year later.
When it comes to releasing pets (not rehabilitated for the wild animals like they do with big cats etc) most of the time it is a death sentence for that pet as they have not learnt any survival skills. If that pet does not die and adapts it is likely to be an ecological disaster especially either by devastating the native population flora or fauna, prime examples of this is the major depletion of red squirrel population due to the introduction of grey squirrels and the American langoustine killing off the native langoustines both in the UK, the bullfrog infestation in Australia, people releasing certain pet turtles into the wild in areas of the US, cats being introduced to islands where cats never developed etc. Also if we look at domesticated farm animals, they become feral and are not only a danger to the local ecology but to humans too as they lack the normal fear that most wild animals have of us. So no pet or farm animal should ever be just released into the wild. If an animal is rehabilitated to be released into its natural environment then that is different but that was not the subject of the above video.
I agree. A pet is a commitment that you have to stick to You can't just get rid of your kids if they're proving to difficult and a pet is no different. It is important you do your research so you know what you're getting into. But yes a lot of pets do die being released into the wild. The ones that are at most risk are the ones who are capable of forming companionship with humans but need to hunt (sea mammals, dogs, some birds ect) they are happy to bond with their humans over getting food and so don't gain hunting skills. They also need companionship and it's not available out in the wild.
^ it isn't technically a pet, if it's a native species. That implies someone made a pet of a wild animal, and if it's too domesticated, then it's got no natural skills necessary to survive out in its natural environment. So no, it should stay domesticated, or in a zoo I guess. Very unlikely it'd make it in the wilderness.
No, definitely not cats. There are numerous places all around the world, Rome definitely comes to mind, where huge packs of feral cats roam around. They are wild, dangerous, territorial, and breed at alarming rates. You don't want your pet? Find it a new home.

Anyone remember The Simpsons episode where Bart brought a bullfrog to Australia and shown kangaroos putting them in their pouch and destroying their crops lol??
True, if we want an animal we should treat them as our children. We chose to adopt them, we should care for them.i think the problem is people see animals as a bought object rather than a living, breathing & feeling being.
Is that the Winter Soldier in the thumbnail with the big ass goldfish? Edit: Maybe not, but I must say, I very much enjoyed the genuine commentary along with the narration. Even if it wasn't genuine, it was refreshing that it felt that way.
I love all 12 of my pets if at anytime I felt I could no longer care for them I would ask pet shop , ask pet rescue, find the a loving home. Releasing them is cruel & lazy . Get educated before you get special animals.😖😚💕
Sweetheart I have had my cat Little Lady for 14 years she is my best pal love her so much. I hope you get a kitty as beautiful as mine .😻😺😸💕😘🙋Bless U sweet one. The Grama 🐈👵
Its cruel to native species, and detrimental to the environment. Most of the reptiles and other animals kept today by hobbyists have been bred in captivity as well. Releasing them is irresponsible, and ignorant. That animal does not have natural immunity to what it can encounter in a wild environment, and the wild animals it encounters are not immune to anything the captive bred animal may potentially carry, this is putting aside the possibility for invasive species as well. Cats for example, are a 'domesticated' species but are one of the most destructive feral species in America, and several other countries. People feel they should let their cats outdoors, that they need that space to roam, but don't they live longer when kept indoors? Letting them out exposes them to numerous communicable diseases, predators, cars, cruel people...not to mention a lot of people don't spay/neuter, so the increased amounts of feral populations is immense. They breed nearly as quickly as rabbits, they decimate local wildlife and ecosystems, putting more and more species on the threatened or endangered lists. And P.o.S. pet owners will dump them at farms or in fields and forget about them. Its an epidemic, just like other invasive species, but since they're cats and they're cute, culling them seems cruel to most people. But most of those cats that are dumped in the wild suffer immensely, a lot of them are sickly and starving. And the ones that aren't are killing off natural wildlife. Cats are NOT a native species, its NOT natural for them to be 'free' and in the wild. As owners its our responsibility to care for the animals we keep, and to protect them from harm in any way that we can. But its also our responsibility to care for our ecosystems and make sure our pets are not responsible for its destruction. If you take on the responsibility of the pet, and at any point find yourself unable to care for it, it is your responsibility to find it a home with someone that DOES have that ability. Releasing them is a cop out. It's irresponsible, ignorant, and just plain lazy. You owe more to your animals then abandoning them to fend for themselves, and anyone who does something like that is inhuman and their mother's should have left them in the woods as an infant to fend for themselves.
Cathy Weisel how does anthropomorphizing exotic animals make that animals life better? Dogs and cats have been bred to be human companions. Anything labeled exotic or special pet should never be held in captivity. It's the absolute selfishness of people thinking that they somehow provide a better life for the animal when it's the total opposite. Captivity of any animal that is not domesticated has shown to shorten life and cause disease. I truly don't see how people are so unaware of this. I think most just don't care. "As long as it makes me feel good then that's all that matters". It's so arrogant of humans to believe that they can provide a better living environment than nature.

I used to have a goldfish he was very small called squishy he was cute he swimmed and wriggled like a worm aww so cute he was 9 months old. the memories I hate when pets die sadly he passed away on may 30th 2017 I still remember him to this day
Bro for real it difficult to get some long lasting goldfish. I have a lovely pair, that are the same gender. Sport and Stephanie are around 6 years old. I do know they have around four years left of life. But I will say even though I rarely pay them attention. I do appreciate having them. Btw I went through around 40+ goldfish till I got long living ones. Sport is about 5-6 inches and Stephanie has to be around 4-4.5 inches. I use to have 3 survivors but 1 died a few years back.
I live in Vermont and the chiropractor I went to daughter released it in there pond, It gets friggen cold up here, 4 years later it was like 10 inches and 2lbls when they saw it coming to the water on a hot muggy day.
Brian Hernandez, it's possible for them to live a LOT longer than that. I have caught goldfish(3lb+ & 18"long) that were probably 20+ and they can live over 40yrs!
Just so you know, the air port in Washington Virginia release every turtle or exotic animal into a pond if a traveler decides to bring their pet on the flight with them. I was not aware that turtles were not allowed on flight and they took mine away from me. I was distraught through the whole flight and they told me they released it into a pond near by. It was a baby slider turtle. New born. I told them during the conflict that it was going to stay inside my gift bag so it didn't disturb any one on flight. They were "concerned" about getting some disease which you can only get by "touching" a contaminated species. It didn't matter what I said to them they wanted to take it away anyways. I had approached my area before security and asked them if my turtle was allowed before entering. They allowed me through the gate with my turtle. The only person who had a problem was the captain himself. If you have intentions of bringing a pet home do not take it to am air port. They will either kill it or let it go and come up with any excuse they can to calm you down. So it's not just your every day person. It's professional businesses to for the dumbest reasons. I just hope my turtle is ok. And I feel bad for setting him have to go.
oh sweetheart you are a special little snowflake. Animals are not allowed on planes unless they are approved assistance companions (ie seeing eye dogs). It's unhydenic to have animals in such close quarters with food service and they can carry diseases to other animals in the new area, whether you know it or not. Not to mention it's cruel to shove a turtle in a handbag and not nice for an animal to be subject to the changing pressure in a cabin. Plus cabins are cold and turtles like warm. As a general rule, do not put an animal on a plane unless it has to happen. Animals do not like planes. Clearly you really don't care about your animal if you think it's appropriate. Never travel in Australia or New Zealand. You won't make it. You can't even carry an apple interstate to prevent disease spreading.
You shouldn't release any pets into the wild. Most are not adapted to fend for themselves in the outside world and will most likely die due to a lack of experience in things like scavenging, hunting, identifying predators and more. Since they get fed by their owner they will not know how to hunt and will expects their food given to them. Their owners will keep them away from predators to keep them safe and they animal will just have no idea what is going on. Animals such as cats ( ones that have the option to go outside) do have more of a wild side and will practice hunting birds, mice and sometimes insects but that still doesn't mean it is OK for them to be released into the wild.
Offspring from a domesticated branch on a 'family tree', if we spent time reversing the effects & studying habitats, I see no reason why we couldn't toss them back at a point in time. Could obviously just wise up & quit messing about with unnecessary things with little or no benefits (quit breeding). All you really do for a pet is pay for it's 2nd rate life & give it somewhere to live. Nothing against you Kinga, just saying I reckon it could be possible or people could could quit being so dependent.
It breed a lot that's why they're pet. Most of them are from wild, people catches them and sell them as pet because they're pretty or certain characteristics that's interesting..
please NEVER release your pets into the wild !! dont get a pet if your just going to get rid of it within a year,, just do proper research on the animal and remember that they are a life time commitment
um no ??????? dont do that, they are a living thing and killing just because you dont want it anymore is super selfish and unfair to the animal,. you wouldn't kill an un wanted cat or dog, you just take them to the shelter. you can take other animals other than cats and dogs to shelters , i got my lizard from the shelter, so um no ,, dont just kill them
My cousin has a red eared slider turtle , she loves that turtle so much, she feeds him on time, she cleans his tank more than 5 times a week( with good water) she takes it to other states( only when she leaves the state) she sometimes falls asleep just by watching him
turtles that are pets should never be released in wild , they have low chance of surviving, also like most RES are almost in every petshop around the globe ( almost) should never be released in other country than its own, they mess with the other turtles and environment also could be too cold in the winter and also they can die

Origins Explained. A carnival came through my town a few years ago and one of the green iguanas liked my car apparently and climbed around my tires. Lucky for him I found him and knew he wasn't a wild lizard from the area (Tennessee.) So I took him home with me until someone could adopt the little guy. So beware of carnivals they have all kinds of animals you can win as prizes.

pets you should NEVER release into the wild: any pet you ding dong.
Cakey MarMar you're right unless it was a pet that you found in your yard and it was hurt and then you put it back. Because you know, it's supposed to be there. Save small animal lives.
I wonder why they didn't mention dogs?
Russia is having dog problems so yeah XD
They are talking about the most dangerous ones you ding dong
Matthew Johnson no they're not. they're only mentioning ones that most people don't typically own. They didn't mention cats or dogs and what they do to wildlife or the local environment.
I don't understand why you'd ever release a pet. I had two mice that I didn't really like, but I still kept them until they died from old age. Releasing an animal that was bred in captivity into the wild is dumb and cruel. If you buy a pet you are responsible for them. People are so weird.
Why didn't you like your pet mice?
We never managed to teach them to handle being, well, handeled. They bit me loads of times until i basically gave up and just let them be. My babysitter actually had two mice that I really liked that were super sociable and nice, hence why we got mice in the first place after our cat died.
Saif m if they were abused they would not have made it to old age. Animals can die of depression too.
Saif m OP said they died from old age.
MsLilly200 Well, welcome to planet earth, where humans are as braindead as they seem.
FlowerAngelRave
Im sorry, at least now he could jump around in bunny heaven. :3
Damn your rabbit lived passed his prime. Their life line is usually 8-12 years. I hope my rabbit lives as long as yours. She's only one years old now, I plan to get her fixed so hopefully she will.

But still irresponsible of them if that is what happened.

thank you for being a decent person and caring for Peaches.

It’s caused by an aberrant gene which is rare in the wild but does happen.

dont release ANY pets into the wild. You shouldnt have bought them in the first place if you end up releasing them.
Well... What if someone dies and their pet left the house. Or if they ran away?
Royalty Colors Well than that's not the owner releasing the pet, that's the owner dying, and the pet running away.

It's sad to see all the animals tied up and left by their owners in Florida before Irma hit
The goldfish in your bowl aren't small because they're small animals. They're small because they aren't being cared for properly. Put them in a big tank or pond with sufficient filtration, and you'll see how big they get when they aren't soaking in filth with poor nutrition and insufficient space. Yes they're just goldfish, but you shouldn't keep any pet you can't or won't care for properly.
asherael love this thank you
Actually they just grow to the size of whatever they live in so....
Animals are being abused without the owners knowing every day.
asherael true our pet gold fish got 1 in a half feet long
When animals do it they're "intrusive" when humans do it we "conquer" strange.
MYnamejeff Ikr
its intrusive because animals don't have a choice about it, animals released in the wild with the exception of birds don't have the luxury of traveling across different environment that will suit them, so they don't have a choice but to live and breed in that area. humans on the other hand have the choice to either adapt to the environment or to change the environment to suite them, hence thats why its called conquering.
I agree 100% even though i love America! The climate would suite me better in Europe.

We all were pretty sure it would die . But one day about two years later there was this big beautiful Robin on our porch that seemed to let me get unusually close to it . I like to think it was Chirp Chirp stopping by to say hello . Clearly the little guy was a fighter !

The legendary "goldfish" was actually a carp/koi. Goldfish don't have barbells
carp, goldfish, and koi are all pretty much the same species or subspecies...they are all kinds of carp. it's like with dogs, horse, cats...after a few thousand years of breeding, the many colors, body shapes, and sizes, as well as mutations that you see in pet shops, have been bred by people.
So the names for these fish is different based on what culture you are dealing with.
yes they can have them as goldfish and koi are both just domesticated Eurasian common carp
I had a pet I discovered one night,
clinging to life in a meteorite.
My old aquarium once cleaned and dried

My Aunt one day showed me this thing that she had called a "Baby." 18 years later this baby was released into the wild. Next thing you know, it had taken over someone else's job, raided a community taking the house, got this thing called a car that caused a lot of pollution, and it found another "baby" that was about as old as it was and produced another one! Worst thing is, I found out this is a very common occurrence! Apparently, there are over 6 billion of these things in the wild today! Scary!
Yes its too late to stop the spread of those things, theyve taken over the entire earth!
The natural predator of all species.
MrWhitman 🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it!
Actually, according to data, there is around 7,642,026,250 today.
And when you typed this, there were around 7,632,819,325 or something.
Bob is a great name for a serial killer... Not as good as Grant though..
brian riedmiller haha that’s quite a funny story. Sounds like he was some evil villain of the tank
Idk, this story is too comical for me to be taken seriously XD
Now at 20 years old a highly territorial and aggressive goldfish is hilarious to talk about. But back when I was 10 it was a demon that needed to be locked away into the farthest reaches of hell.
Hilarious story lol poor Bob never meet a challenger.
in other words, make sure you can fully properly take care of your pets before you even think of getting them.

i think you meant to say canada doesn't JUST have summer...oh wait you were serious?..well sorry to say but you cant believe EVERY stereotype you hear...
canada has four seasons
winter: what people think is our only season
fall: we don't wear winter jackets during this time...
spring:...we still dont wear winter jackets....
summer: if we wore winter jackets during this time...we would probably die from heatstroke
came for the goldfish, saw the goldfish, left the goldfish
General rule is to never release any living thing (plants, animals, insects) in wild unless its native there. Ecosystem is really fragile thing and slow to adapt. Nature will adjust itself most of the time but it may take a looong time.
even if it is native you still shouldn't cause it might have diseases the wild population has never experienced or it might die.
mukkaar - it's wayyyyyy too late

Yet us humans are doing more damage to the ecosystem

I lived in south Florida. It's already too late. There are wild tegus, wild all kinds of geckos, wild rock python, wild Nile monitor lizards which are crazy dangerous, wild iguanas everywhere, not to mention all the venomous things that got loose when the hurricanes went through several years ago. . . Oh and the biggest problem there I believe would be the feral razor backs or pigs. . . Those dam things are mean and nasty
Tell me about it.. Even back in the 90's when we lived there, it was pretty bad. I assume it's only gotten worse.
I really wanted to visit the manatees in Florida, but you just ruined that for me. Doesn't sound like a nice place anymore.
so... Florida is the american equivalent to Australia?

I once found non-native animals abandoned in my area. I live in a rural area, on a dead-end road. One morning, I found a mother Guinea Pig and her three not-yet-weaned babies in my front yard. Obviously, they had not been "out" long enough to go wild because they came right to me. The mother piggy I named Iris, and she became my best little buddy for the rest of her life. She's also the piggy in my YT channel picture.
K
Well that was very nice of you to do that even though most probably wouldn't. They may talk alot on here but actually wouldn't do a thing but walk by so thank you for giving them a nice home to have. I hope theirs more ppl like you out in the world. Have a great day.
How sad that someone just dumped their pet off on a dead end road😢 thanks for saving her
Dude, I just saw on the news a little while ago.
Absolutely right. I don't understand how this isn't a top comment.
8:26 his grandmother?!? Who’s grandmother lmao
This video should be called, 'Pets You Should NEVER Release in Florida!' - for real though.
Of course, because how many damn invasive animals do we need in Florida? Because we don't need any.
Yep, I like Florida because I live there but what the f- Ahem damn screw you Floridians that do this.
#1 most dangerous animal is the feral Florida man
It’s ridiculous the amount of invasive species that are here in Florida .

Good times.
Well done chinchillas are adorable and make great pets

Wow you just got verbally knocked the hell out. You okay?
Still is a very popular and cheap pet to get for "the kids".

there was a lot of misinformation and wrong pictures in this video... the two tht pop out most to me is that goldfish, whether a pet or not, are supposed to be big and live long lives- its their owners poor handling that make them seem a small and easy pet. At 12:03 instead of a picture of a, say, dangerous snake, it showed a ball python, who are famous for being very shy and aren't a huge danger to environments, as they are often unable to defend for themselves.
Who knows, maybe things like this actually exist

No pet, domesticated or tamed should be released to the wild full stop.
No pet should ever to be released into the wild, you can never know what you might unleash to your environment
They should, but only their native ones.
How bout cats?
No, definitely not cats. There are numerous places all around the world, Rome definitely comes to mind, where huge packs of feral cats roam around. They are wild, dangerous, territorial, and breed at alarming rates. You don't want your pet? Find it a new home.

True, if we want an animal we should treat them as our children. We chose to adopt them, we should care for them.i think the problem is people see animals as a bought object rather than a living, breathing & feeling being.

__Niko__ domesticated animals aren't suited for the wild. it's called domestication, look it up. as for reptiles and bugs, I agree
It's so arrogant of humans to believe that they can provide a better living environment than nature.
lee majors we adopted our exotic pets from someone who could not care for them any more. We educated ourselves how to care & have proper habitats for them. Pet stores R in it for the money they do not educate the buyer sad wish they had tighter restrictions on exotic pets. We have indoor & outdoor freedom as they need .
Wow thanks for all support

Most of them are from wild, people catches them and sell them as pet because they're pretty or certain characteristics that's interesting..

she change the water too often , the filter needs to cycle and have good bacteria
awww thats adorable
You should be ashamed of glorifying owning a creature who just wants A NATURAL LIFE!
turtles that are pets should never be released in wild , they have low chance of surviving, also like most RES are almost in every petshop around the globe ( almost) should never be released in other country than its own, they mess with the other turtles and environment also could be too cold in the winter and also they can die
