Something to point out is for Canadians the Bells bar makes more sense than the Giant or Rep because of pricing/shipping. I own this Bells bar and love it. Only complaint I have, that I'm surprised Coop missed, is no knurl markings on the handle. Other than that this bar is perfect for me. The heavier weight means less plates to load which I love
Completely agree with you all around. I picked up the Northland trap bar and have been loving it. Feels great doing overhead pressing, deadlifts, lunges, etc and at a hard to beat price point. I looked at the BoS when I was originally searching but for the price they can’t compete with Giant and Rep. If they applied their color scheme to a more similar bar to either of those then they’d have a winner but for now I think they aren’t competitive in the open trap bar segment.
Massively underrated. My gym has an Ohio power bar, but I have the barenaked 2.0 at home. And honestly they feel 99% exactly the same. Got the BoS bar used for $100. Can’t find an Ohio bar even close to that price.
I have both the Fringe Sport Midas Revenge Barbell and the Bells of Steel Industrial Easy Curl Bar and the "gold titanium" coating is almost identical between the two. I would highly recommend BOS for pretty much any product.
The shorter open hex bar is great for those with limited space; who don't have a rack. I've a functional trainer instead of a rack because of space. Moreover, for those in Canada we don't get dinged by expensive customs fees/taxes as we do when ordering from the USA. BOS is a Canadian company and it is nice to support a Cdn company. I've spent so much money on shipping / customs when ordering USA products, at some point it just becomes a matter of enough is enough.
I got the bells of steel hex bar (not industrial) for just 175 CAD or 126USD thanks to an awesome in store 50$ discount + a general Black Friday sale for 30-40% off The price alone was enough to convince since sourcing the Giant or Rep Fitness is a hassle in Canada thanks to the huge shipping and import duties
If you’re planning on Reviewing the “Weight it out” plates , I’d love to give you my experience because I own and use all 7 pairs that I have and I have quite a few thoughts both positive and negative if you’d like to hear.
The smaller one goes on sale all the time - as long as you don't need to rack it and can deal with the short sleeves - it is a great, great value - particularly here in Canada where the competition is more expensive than the US.
BoS needs to (1) extend the jack feet straight down from the handles instead of angling them inwards (2) keep offering sub 60" compact and rackable versions (3) use hard industrial chrome for the sleeves and grip areas for longevity.
Thanks for the great review Coop! I agree on all your points. The Northland bar is a pretty strong choice. REP has an awesome bar as well. Both are a great value for what you are getting.
882lbs is 400kg. so, metric measurement I guess. most of the world uses 10, 20, 25kg plates... nice bar. wish I could get it in my country. also, what I like about this bar is that "frame" is made from steel of the same width as handle, as far as I can see. so easier to grip if you use it for squats and press ups or what ever. other bar have front part too thick to grip it comfortably, it seems to me
Own this. Love it !! Especially since BoS had them on clearance for 250$ during black friday It is unbalanced, but finding the balanced spot is very easy. Also the jack isn't very round so it is leaving marks in my platform when I stand it up and lower it, still love it tho ! I throw fat gripz in the upper handles for rows and carry's
First and probably last time i purchase form Bells of Steel. I just received two items. The flat bench and the Nemesis bar. The bench came in defective, the holes on the pad don't align with the support bar. As for the Nemesis, i bought the bar because of the description. I have a shoulder and wrist injury, according to the description its safer to use. Unfortunately the bar shakes, i don't know why, all i can say, it doesn't help with shoulder stability, it actually hurt my shoulder and wrist.
Got this on a major sale on boxing week - cause I have a BoS showroom close by it was heavily discounted for those who could pick it up. Amazing bar for the value. It is not perfect - the 80 pound starting weight is a real hassle when storing vertically, and it is unbalanced tilting forward. As well, the opening is kind of small. But still, it is a very solid and premium bar - great value when on sale.
I assume it is is titanium nitride. A common coating you see on a lot of high wear applications such as drill bits. It’s easy to apply and very wear resistant
Hey coop I freaking love allllll your guys content and I literally built my home gym to alot of your ratings and you didnt dissappoint! I love my gym and you talk about boujee stuff and it makes a difference especially for things that are going to last for a really long time but speaking of boujee, could you do a review on watches to wear at the gym?? Pateks are dope but NOT for the gym 😅 and I dont care for apple products. They just look cheap and I dont having what everyone has.
Lol what the heck.. Did he even mention if this trap bar was balanced so the bar doesn't just tilt when you set it on the floor? His other trap bar review videos he'd mention this..
Pretty sure they discontinued this one. At least that’s what they said at Home Gym Con. The one with the smaller sleeves is staying around because it’s cheaper to ship.
I have the cheaper Bells of Steel trap bar. My only gripe is that when it’s on its stand, the bar is a bit lopsided. One side is closer to the ground than the other. It makes me feel like the bar is not symmetrical. Not sure if this actually matters when I’m lifting, but it’s a bit annoying. I love everything else about it
Another product I need to add to cart and be disappointed they dont offer EU shipping. So rare to have a product you support actually available outside USA :/
I distinctly remember BoS posting a story on facebook of them there for this review…”first time they’re seeing this video” is a bit disingenuous. Can’t find the reel anymore but that could be just poor searching skills
Anyone know of a good trap bar that doesn’t weight as much??? A lot of them are like 60 LB just the bar alone… too heavy for a woman who is a beginner and only weights 100LB 😭
How many trap bars are you going to review? Same ole stuff , review something different. How about reviewing leg press machines or lat machines? I’m not talking about a lat pull but a iso lat row machine that’s semi commercial grade. Fettle Fitness has a wide selection to choose from. @garagegymreviews
Appreciate the in depth look at our bar Coop 😁😁 thank you for the honest feedback as well!
You’re welcome I tried

Same here. I picked one up on clearance for $375 CAD ( so about $275 USD) and am super happy with it so far.

Bells of steel is vastly underrated
The home-gym king!
Massively underrated. My gym has an Ohio power bar, but I have the barenaked 2.0 at home. And honestly they feel 99% exactly the same. Got the BoS bar used for $100. Can’t find an Ohio bar even close to that price.
As a Canadian I strongly agree
I have both the Fringe Sport Midas Revenge Barbell and the Bells of Steel Industrial Easy Curl Bar and the "gold titanium" coating is almost identical between the two. I would highly recommend BOS for pretty much any product.
Been looking for a trap bar to add to my home gym. This might be the end of my search! Good review!
Pretty sure it’s discontinued, but check out the smaller one or Rep or Giant lifting if you want a budget one with longer sleeves
400kg is 881.849 pounds, so they rounded up to 882

Love it! Enjoyed meeting everyone at Bells Of Steel. Great products!

If you want the industrial version, I’d buy now. It’s discontinued so once they sell out, they’re gone. It’s also on sale for $400.
If you’re planning on Reviewing the “Weight it out” plates , I’d love to give you my experience because I own and use all 7 pairs that I have and I have quite a few thoughts both positive and negative if you’d like to hear.

Thanks for review. I love the plates. Can't wait to see your review of those :)

Showing off some Weight it Out plates as well, I see. I’d love to see a review of those!
Coming soon...😉😉
I got the cheaper one for 240 and free shipping. Main benefit for me is I have a tight space and greatly appreciate the 59” width.
I think BOS is already taking your advice. They are discontinuing the bar apparently.
Why isn’t this on their website anymore? I would love this bar!

As Bells of Steel is Canadian, they use metric measurements and therefore the width and weight might seem weird in inch and lbs.... Nice bar.
Own this. Love it !! Especially since BoS had them on clearance for 250$ during black friday

love Bells of Steel, love Rep, have products from both, but c’mon, support the lil guy!

Great bar! Got this on sale during boxing week for $300 CAD!
Would love to see a vid breaking down the difference is of coating vs rust. Cerakote, powder coat and stainless steel.
Combining the old school machined bar but adding the capacity to be racked is a strong move.
Why I like GOLD gym equipment so much!
Let's see some farmers frame reviews like titans or reps yoke/sled/ farmers combo
Works great
Says it’s now being discontinued?! Coop putting them out of business 😂
3:05 that is a great way to knock yourself out if you don't get that clean up!
I would get this over the northland trap bar if they were in the same price range
I assume it is is titanium nitride. A common coating you see on a lot of high wear applications such as drill bits. It’s easy to apply and very wear resistant

Can you do a rack attached pulley system? They are like 60-120 bucks but idk if I can trust them.
Test out Wright Equipment’s stuff from my hometown, Birmingham, Al!
dont do it coop
I bought a trap bar from them, very heavy duty and aggressive knurling.
Waiting for my balance from $100 version of this to come in on Monday
Lol what the heck.. Did he even mention if this trap bar was balanced so the bar doesn't just tilt when you set it on the floor?
His other trap bar review videos he'd mention this..
Coop - What are the vertical light bars in your gym? They're cool!
I got an email from them a month ago saying theyre discontinuing the industrial rackable trap bar lol
Pretty sure they discontinued this one. At least that’s what they said at Home Gym Con. The one with the smaller sleeves is staying around because it’s cheaper to ship.
😮 For a second I thought that was Mitchell Hooper in the thumbnail. Your getting huge Coop. 💥 👊 💥
I can't find the black and gold on their website.

How about the giant northland open trap bar? I own one, and for the price, it is beefy.
We need a review on fray fitness funtional trainer all in one rack ...I believe called savage series !
Huh?
4:39 - Say “HeiTH” one more time!! I DARE YOU!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Weird that the industrial bar is being discontinued though...
Brand of plates? Nice looking.
🙏🙏 Thank you
Something I might have missed, but why did they start making hex bars open? Whats the benefit
Bells has filled that void of decent prices, and decent quality that Titan was supposed to in theory but less often in practice.
How is the balance of the bar?
Bells also offers a veterans discount.
882lb is 400kg flat and engineers do maths in metric because one time a space ship exploded on the runway due to a conversion error
Can we get an mb dead sled review
Another product I need to add to cart and be disappointed they dont offer EU shipping. So rare to have a product you support actually available outside USA :/
Will rogue release an open trap bar? Anyone know?
New plates Coop?
Thank you for a non deterring intro :) (you know what I mean)
What watch is he wearing ?
I distinctly remember BoS posting a story on facebook of them there for this review…”first time they’re seeing this video” is a bit disingenuous. Can’t find the reel anymore but that could be just poor searching skills
Bells is Titan 2.0
The industrial version is being discontinued.
HEIGH-TH!!! This pronunciation of the word "Height" has always sounded like nails being dragged across the chalk board.
Anyone around 6'4'' and a wide wingspan have experience with this bar?
BalanceFrom open trap bar is $99… not saying it’s the same thing but I’m pretty sure that’s what coop mentioned. Pretty much a copy of the bos.
Anyone know of a good trap bar that doesn’t weight as much??? A lot of them are like 60 LB just the bar alone… too heavy for a woman who is a beginner and only weights 100LB 😭
Marcy trap bar has 2 on Amazon, one is 45 lbs and the other is 30 lbs. I have the 45 lbs bar it's good
@@TheAbsurdist86 thank you for the suggestions, I will check them out. I appreciate it.
Guess you should add “check to see if it’s being discontinued” before reviewing a piece of equipment. 😂
is a bit overpriced in its market. REP for the win to me
882lbs is almost exactly 400kg,

Heigth? Is that an American word?
Coop, why is your skin orange?
RACIST!!!!!
It’s already discontinued LOL
2nd
First
Trap bars are stupid.
882 lbs because it's exactly 400 kg
titanium nitride coating.
Says it’s now being discontinued?! Coop putting them out of business 😂
