    The coconut husk also makes great kindling, the shell can be used as a bowl or cup, and the liquid inside restores electrolytes... That's why coconuts are known as the "tree of life"

    This is how fiber is spun! You can make a stronger rope by spinning a long yarn using a huge batch of husks. The grafts won't be quite as strong as a single long yarn. And then continue in the manner you described, plying two long yarns together.

Say you need to climb a tree with a bunch of branches, but you can't reach the first one, however you can get your piece of rope over it and hold onto the other side. Do that near the trunk and use the extra support to walk up it, and you're in the tree! I'm just spewing ideas ignore me ;w;

    3 strand is the most stable. 2 strand as you made is ok but can get uneven under load and isn't as strong(strands spiral more), 4 strand requires a core to wrap around but is stronger and less springy(strands spiral less).

    • @alexgetsactive1203
      @alexgetsactive1203 7 лет назад

      MoistGoat actually most of its actually quite simple just get a branch about 11/2 inches thick to 2 inches (to ensure structural strength) i would guess use his rope making method or if you have any thin string (i used nylon string for my bow very strong) and then the only problem i would have is making the arrorws but you could probably do that with very thin branches with a shard of rock secured on it with said rope...as for the fletching you could probably use a small leaf or leaves or use the strands from the coconut as for adequate aerodynamics if you cant find any birds to use their feathers

    It's called a two strand twist and I use it to style my hair. you twist the two strands clockwise then wrap them around each other counter-clockwise. They can't unwind because they have tension in two rotations. They use that method for rug tassles too.If you were to sit and brace the center with your foot or your toe, you could use both hands to twist and use your arm motion to wrap at the same time.

    How many times would I have to twist the rope until it is strong enough to use as a bowstring?

    • @Sparta-it1hj
      @Sparta-it1hj 8 лет назад +2

      Giannis Pantazis I don't think you can use this as a bow string, because once you get it strong enough for a decent bow string, it will probably be too thick.

    • @fireball_hex964
      @fireball_hex964 8 лет назад +1

      well depends on what you are attaching the string to, because most of the elasticity comes from the bow itself! I would assume maybe 2x would be all

    • @Roxaswastaken
      @Roxaswastaken 8 лет назад

      Giannis Pantazis Bow strings need some elasticity to it

    • @DavidKenny64
      @DavidKenny64 8 лет назад +8

      RoxasWasTaken Actually, elasticity in your bow string is the last thing you want. The spring comes from the stiff limbs of the bow itself.

    • @Roxaswastaken
      @Roxaswastaken 8 лет назад

      David Kenny If bow strings have no elasticity to it, then how would you pull it back, and how would it snap back to its starting position?
