He and Brian McKnight mastered that MIDDLE voice range (between chest voice and falsetto voice) that's the hardest vocal style for a man to master..easy for a woman to master as they naturally go into MIDDLE voice.....Before Stevie Wonder there was just two vocal techniques. Chest and Falsetto ...but Stevie introduced that middle range and changed the game..such a difficult technique to master

But he used middle voice which is an extremely difficult technique for a man to master, it's not falsetto...most women naturally use that middle voice without trying....men have to practice, or else your yelling (K-Ci)...the only male vocalist I heard use true chest voice on higher notes without going into middle was Marvin Sapp, but on his most recent albums he even started using it but in a different way to do that high pitched "screaming" voice. It's not a false or falsetto voice...just that in between register..there is a entire RUclips video tutorial on it
