How good is the MXR Raijin Drive Overdrive & Distortion Pedal?

- I picked up this pedal on a Musician's Friend Stupid Deal of the Day for 69 bucks. Obviously I'm going to demo it out on my channel. If you like it, keep your eyes open for another. I have seen them a couple times since I picked up this one.

sounds like a fuzz even on the overdrive setting... a ds-1 based drive indeed
Not really. The overdrive side is based on the Ibanez TS9 which, you can look it up, is known as the "Tube Screamer" and thus sounds like a smooth, warm break up. Not fuzzy at all

@@brandonmontgomery288 Thanks and welcome to 301! It was $69 bucks and they come up every couple months since I got mine. I would recommend it at that price. Metal is so complicated and not my expertise but I imagine you could get some good classic stoney metal tones from it. Probably not enough gain or the right tone for more modern metal sounds.
