Hi Paul, I was getting fed up with all the same old crap on RUclips, kids shooting with fast lenses and over-using colour grades etc., producing pointless mediocre images. And then I found your channel. A breath of fresh air. Good job Sir!
Lovely video Paul. I’ve not been to Blackpool in a long long time. Great photos Need to catch you at some point- maybe a wee trip to sunny Glasgow, I’ve been meaning to organise a photo walk with beers, cameras for ages now
Hi Paul, just taking your camera with you is the best thing to do! I do the same. When I started taking them with me, I was often asked, "Why do you have a camera with you?". Today I'm only asked if I don't have one with me. And that's very rare ;-) I really like your photos of Blackpool and also the color look in the video sequences. It reminds me of old American movies. Thanks a lot for all of your inspiration and images! With best regardes from Siegen/Germany, Dirk (DT-Classics)
Outstanding PORTRAITS, i myself shoot with an M6, i am NOW saving my pennies for a Q3 when they become available on a regular basis. Nice video here. my favorite is the bloke with the cigarette.
Blackpool…man it’s 20 years since I’ve been there. Was quite a bit run down at that time but I loved that atmosphere. Is it still that way? Lovely atmospheric shots. And yes, always bring a camera 😁
Love those up close portraits. They capture people’s personality. Perhaps you could show us some time your approach to engaging with folks to take their picture. Candid shots may be the truest definition of street photography, but permission based street photos can be enjoyable too.
Nice video,do you use yellow ,orange or red filters or is it all post process to achieve your look? I love colour but enjoy other peoples B and W and try to do the odd monochrome image, my main camera is a leica Q2
I don’t I’m afraid. It’s not that complicated but more an approach to the editing that being technical. Feel free to join one of my workshops if you would like to be walked through my process from the taking of the images to the actual processing
It’s interesting that I find you on this journey of late. I recently put away my R5 and dug out a dusty under utilized Panasonic LX 100 and am falling in love all over again with the Summilux 24-75! Shooting for the joy of shooting again is a wonderful feeling. I’m in the process of deciding on the Q3 Monochrome or a regular one. No decision yet, nor is it really needed just yet. In Canada the Q3 is a hefty $8100. So it will take me a while to save up, but I’m $600 in already😂 Just thankful for a wife who puts up with my purchases 🙂 Great video and keep them coming.
Great images. I wondered if these images were straight out of camera or if they were edited? They look amazing and I've always wondered if you need to do much post-processing with monochrome images from a camera like the Q2.
Where were you when you shot that lovely old art deco was it building, the place with the scruffy patterned carpet? looks my type of dated atmospheric location
…..Hi Paul, I’m not in a position (yet) to book a Workshop, (or online Zoom) but looking at your website, it’s not intuitive how you actually do that?….maybe the links are broken?….just thought I should “Flag” to you - Cheers - Peter.
It maybe just my old eyes, but the talking head segments have super shallow DOF, to the point it takes away from what you're speaking about.... wonderful images though and looked like a great day out shooting.
Great photos Paul. I must go back to Blackpool. I took the following there last year opotoposnaps.weebly.com/uploads/4/3/6/9/43698089/curvaceous-2_1_orig.jpg
Stunningly portraits Paul, Q2 Monochrom is so special.

Thanks so much!! Yeah I should do that
Nice video,do you use yellow ,orange or red filters or is it all post process to achieve your look? I love colour but enjoy other peoples B and W and try to do the odd monochrome image, my main camera is a leica Q2
I never use filters at all. I just mess about with the lighting and contrast after in post
I absolutely love your images. Do you have a video just on your editing process using the q2 monochrome?
I don’t I’m afraid. It’s not that complicated but more an approach to the editing that being technical. Feel free to join one of my workshops if you would like to be walked through my process from the taking of the images to the actual processing
Nice work
Thanks
Iam interested in your mono workshop
Thanks
Thanks so much. If you go to my website there’s a workshops section. The link is also in the description of this video.

Keep shooting! And saving at the same time!!!
Hi Paul! Great street photography! Do you use any color filters for your street photography? How are you post processing the files? Thank you!
I don’t use the filters although fun! I’m just using Lightroom
Great images! Did you use any color filter on the Monochrom?
Thanks so much. No filters at all
Great images. I wondered if these images were straight out of camera or if they were edited? They look amazing and I've always wondered if you need to do much post-processing with monochrome images from a camera like the Q2.
Thanks so much. I always edit the images to my style. I wouldn’t say it’s a lot of post processing. But it is very necessary with the RAW files
Where were you when you shot that lovely old art deco was it building, the place with the scruffy patterned carpet? looks my type of dated atmospheric location
That was inside Blackpool tower itself
Do you sharpen your images? They look like it.
No but who knows how images come across on video.
Do you predominantly use hyperfocal or autofocus?
I use a mix of both really
My Q2 goes everywhere with me. It’s the only camera I’ve ever done that with. It defworks because I have some great shots I would t have got otherwise
Fantastic!! I couldn’t do without my Q2M
You didn't have your camera when I met you in the park yesterday evening 🤣📷
Ha haaaaaaaa! I know!!!
BLACKpool in BLACK and white -like it was made for the day 😅
Thanks so much

It’s just a link to the contact page right now. I will be putting a page just for the online workshop info
Monochrome personality. Apt.
I wish I knew what that meant! Ha haaa
It maybe just my old eyes, but the talking head segments have super shallow DOF, to the point it takes away from what you're speaking about.... wonderful images though and looked like a great day out shooting.
You’re absolutely right! I thought the same about the shallow depth of field. It was too much. Thanks for watching
