Picked up a Rapido SP PA unit and it doesn’t disappoint one bit, just an incredible model and was worth the $300 (with Loksound5 version) I paid for it. I tip my hat to everyone who made this happen, I know it wasn’t easy. Thanks again.
Bill, I guess you just have to imagine the O&W had PAs. Will the D&H PAs have the changes made when they were rebuilt into PA4s with the 251 and whatnot? Love what you guys have done with this!
Such gorgeous work! Smooth power, great detailing, sturdy looking, excellent paint. An engine anyone would love to own. So, who makes that good looking O&W U-1? ;v) :vD Those PA's do indeed look great! I'd snatch up a set, but there were none on the Milwaukee Road. :v(
@@rapidotrains Hmmmm.... none of the road names you offer are from railroads that are anywhere near Milwaukee. Might have to get an A/B set & repaint them in the ALco/GE demo scheme. That orange with silver trucks scheme is pretty sharp. Did you guys consider releasing the PA's in the demo scheme?
post collision, all there was to be found was a wooten fire box and a radiator fan from a PA... Will the American Freedom Train have cars come out later on down the road? This train was guarded by U.S. Marines at all times, and as one I feel I need this train ( as a whole )
@@rapidotrains That could be your Tempo train 2.0! Even that you are willing to offer the locomotive in AFT paint is fabulous, but it seems like that loco would be awfully lonely without some cars!
You can see my modest attempts at replicating the shabby condition of the ex Santa Fe , ex D&H, ex NdeM, Alco PA when Doyle brought it up from Mexico. Check out the first 5 minutes or so of my video "Oregon City Layout tour Dec 13, 2020." I show the old Southern Pacific Brooklyn Yard roundhouse and the treasures it used to hold, now at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center.
Will the DC silent versions have complete lighting effects? Headlight, Mars light, reverse light, ground lights? I understand that due to lack of DCC I would not be able to operate each specifically but I would like to know if they'd operate at all. I'm deaf in my left ear so sound is not so crucial but I certainly enjoy complete lighting effects! Thanks, David 😷 in Chicago 🇺🇸 - Thanks Jason for your response! Appreciate you telling me what works for a DC Silent versions. It's about what I would expect as I stated above. You mentioned that the model will have working headlights - does this mean the Mars light works? That's one of the reasons I'vr purchase Walthers units over others - even with DC only Walthers units Mars lights function. I'm hoping your DC Silent will too. Thanks for offering both types of models.
Hi David. The PR team can't always answer questions like yours, so they leave messages like that until they have spoken to a project manager. The project managers do not do comments on our RUclips videos. Your best bet when you have a question is to contact us through our web site if you want a detailed response. That being said, I can tell you that it is not possible to do most of the lighting effects in DC. Our DC models have working headlights, number boards and ground lights. We generally don't make the backup light work in DC as it was only used for switching moves. -Jason
It would be interesting to produce Santa Fe #62L, D&H #18, then NKP #190 as they are all the same locomotive. restored now by Doyle McCormack in Portland Oregon. I have modeled what it looked like when he brought it up from Mexico in 2000. Its next to Brooklyn Yard on mist of my videos that are set in the 2000s.
Those look great! I can't wait for the Santa Fe. So, will they be shipping with ESU or TCS? While I'd prefer ESU, I was under the impression they would ship with new TCS decoders.
Excited to see the PA's eventual release, especially the D&H variants. Also nice to see Bill's layout, don't see much of NYOW representation in HO scale besides some rolling stock and the FT/F3s 😉
That crash was cringy, funny, and horrifying at the same time. I would love to get the D&H PA's, but I will have to start saving now. Not that they aren't worth it, Rapido engines are worth the price. Maybe someday I can be featured on a Rapido trains disaster, err, video.
Alco made some of the most Handsome locomktives ever built. along with the Fairbanks Morses, but, good looks wont get you to the finish line. Too bad cuz, those PA's really loʻked good. The Trainmasters were no splouchers either.
“Says sarcastically” Oh sure, just blow off the crazy crash that happened in the start of the video and not blaming any of the conductors, engineers, dispatch or the railroad that didn’t keep signals updated lmao 😝😝 Seriously?! No explosion?! This would of been perfect to do one instead of randomly blowing up the F7 units like last time 😂

Now looking forward in a future video between a showdown on the Kingston Sub between Jason and his TurboTrain and Jordan and his Turboliner...
That sounds like a challenge...
I never thought I'd see an SP Alco PA/PB unit outside of brass but you guys made it a reality.
Definitely gonna get the Daylight version
Fantastic!
We're always trying to raise the bar!
You guys do FANTASTIC work!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Well, you have gone and done it! You have managed to "make" me pre-order my first Rapido products!
YES!
0:39 y’know, i’m not normally that big of a fan for Camelbacks, but that one looks really nice!
:)
They've got a face only a mother could love!
They look beautiful. Might pick up a silent set from trainworld in the daylight and if there are any made a freedom train when I get them.
Great, thanks!
Nice. I love the unique details on the SP ALCO PAs like some of their F-units had also.
One of our favourite prototypes!

We're the doing the "unrebuilt" D&H models for now. The rebuilt models are completely different.
1:00 You really needed an "I Love Toy Trains" style "Oh No!" sound at the end of that sequence. But great looking model!
Thank you!

I love the sound of the Alco. They are the locomotive Harley.
They're music to our ears!
Ah, damn. No Erie on this run. These still look sick, though! Hope I get to pick up a couple of these in the future!
Can't do 'em all at once! Definitely a possibility for the second run.
Hopefully I'll get the Pennsy units. The old Blue box ones I repowered & detailed in the 90s are getting old.
Blue Box had their day!
Will yall be doing the Southern railway PA-2s if when yall do a second run
We haven’t started working on the second release yet, but for sure the Southern units will be considered when the time comes!
Question.. Where did you get the sound from??
ESU modified a 244-12 recording, I believe.

Looks good to me! Now I just need to wait for the NYC with corner number boards...
All in due time...

That would be neat, but it would require a lot of extra tooling for only one engine.
@@rapidotrains Indeed, but man, what a cool collection of railroad specific variations it would be. Thanks for responding.
Very cool locomotives!
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
I like it, but when are we gonna see a 4316 (and other E8) reveal trailer?
Samples will be here later this year!
Those look great! I can't wait for the Santa Fe. So, will they be shipping with ESU or TCS? While I'd prefer ESU, I was under the impression they would ship with new TCS decoders.
ESU. The TCS decoders are still in development.

Not from us!
I want those SP PA so badly!!
They are pretty sweet!
Absolutely beautiful, well done 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
will you guy's be doing any Union Pacific PA/PB models?
We’re focused on the list of first release road names at the moment, but most likely we will do the UP PA and PB models at some point.
Love SP versions of the Alco PA.
Bill did a great job painting them!
If you buy 2 does it come with a free remote controll pigeon
Still working on those!
Rapido back at it again with the content! Keep it up fellas, can't wait for the Ottawa Central RS-18u's to drop in the winter!

ESU not TCS decoders?
ESU. The TCS decoders weren't ready.
Correct! The TCS decoders are still in development.
Those are beautiful, if you guys do a N-scale version of these, you can put me down for two!
