Guillem is simply fantastic here! Her incredible strength and balance during the Rose Adagio is the best I’ve ever seen! I swear that if 100 dancers were on a stage, your eyes would always find and be fixed on her, even if she wasn’t the star bc her charisma shines out like a beacon! While I usually really enjoy Nureyev’s choreography on the big warhorses, one aspect of his work always bothers me: when he has a large group of corps dancers, he likes to have 2-3 rows of 10 facing the audience with every other one in each line throwing arms or legs in the opposite direction….it’s so dense with bodies that you can’t get a clear idea of what’s going on! He also likes the “dark” elements of the classic ballets drenched in darkness, as with Carabosse and her rats when they appear in the first act; all you can see is glittering around the fringes of a very dark person, and nothing else is visible. I really have to say that I prefer the “old” version of ‘Sleeping Beauty.’
Anche attorialita 'commediale in questo balletto che contempla quello che con un mio neologismo mi piace chiamare convolo aereo ed elanista della ballerina ottimamente indotto e tenuto dal partner con bilico di difficoltà massima ed eseguito con una non chalance esecutiva d'acchito sorprendente.Ottimo l'impadronimrnto elanista del proscenio a balzi in rotazioni aeree e sforbiciate aeree e traverse spettacolari da parte del ballerino a balzi falcati amplissimi ed. Ottimo impadronimento del proscenio direi imperativo a balzi ad ampie spaccate volanti spettacolari da parte della ballerina. Ottima la riconduzione dei passi all'euritmia melodica da parte di entrambi come se avessero immiato il tema musicale. Superlativi.Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Une belle au bois dormant bien réveillée ! tout est parfait et beaucoup plus : autant de charme avec une telle technique, il n'y a que Sylvie Guillem pour ça ! Laurent Hilaire est son parfait partenaire et prince charmant ! pour moi, on ne fait pas mieux ....; Ce qu'ils arrivent à faire dans le pas de deux à la fin (après 2.05.20) en terme de vivacité et de complicité, c'est à peine croyable ....
Un'Aurora vivace e piena di vita. Bellissimo uso della dinamica e delle braccia. Contrariamente a quanti molti dicono non è affatto appiattita nella tecnica e nelle linee, ma le fa diventare "vive". Fantastica artista!
pffff ! c'est horrible, quand j'avais 7 ans je savais déjà qu'il ne fallait faire aucun bruit pendant un concert de musique classique ou un ballet ! une quinte de toux peut arriver mais la plupart des tousseurs s'éclaircissent juste la gorge et pourraient facilement s'en dispenser !

About 2/3 of mine is on VHS, so "lost" unless I can get them transferred to DVD! I was prepared to be satisfied with just bits and pieces of Guillem's Aurora so was thrilled to see the entire ballet posted. Thanks so much!

Je sais que vous n'aimez pas trop Sylvie Guillem, mais ici je la trouve géniale. dans le pas de deux du dernier acte, la diagonale des poissons... la vitesse á laquelle elle arrache sa 2e jambe de terre.. fantastique.. trés peu le font ainsi , Même mes chères Aurélie Dupont et Dorothée Gilbert ne sont pas si agiles... La petite serie de déboulés finis arabesque avec le fameux tour enveloppé sur une seule pointe ( comme me l'avait enseigné Patrice Bart) ça aussi ça vaut la peine.. plus personne ne fait ça.... Son grand défaut á Guillem.. Ok, elle danse un peu trop perso... je suis d'accord.Mais quel panache !!!!!!!
