I live about 45 minutes from Center City, where Karl Oskar and Kristina settled, and found the exact location of where their farm would have been according to the books. It looks EXACTLY like the location they used in Sweden to make the film

This is way better than the remake. At least Jan Troell captures both the mood of the story and the anxiety of Swedes who attempt to make a square and honest living in 19th century America.
