Gundam SEED/Destiny was notorious for reusing animation plates and especially so in the later half of Destiny, even to the point where there are a few speed line pans during one of the fights where they didn't bother to actually replace the gundam so if you're observant you can see Shinn piloting Strike instead of Impulse.
Welp, it is not that destiny is a bad unit. But "destiny is inferior to impulse" in the term of fighting against a guy who won't aim for the cockpit. In the end, impulse is just a cockpit unit that could keep fighting as long as the cockpit is still intact. While destiny is anything but. Missing leg? Out of commission. Missing arm? get out of here. You don't need to aim for the cockpit to disable destiny. Like how there they replace a perfect multi-purpose strategic unit (also already proven as highly effective) with this fancy (prototype) glass canon. Who tf is in charge of this? fire that guy. He's definitely never finished military school. There is space magic out there and he manages to throw away our one and only (working) plot armor to some incell and throw our one of best ace into a walking coffin.
Let's be honest kira isn't as good a pilot as the show makes him out to be. He lost the freedom to an inferior opponent because he was out strategized. Survived a nuclear explosion because of plot. He only beats shin in the destiny because he's got a fancy new Gundam that's more op then the last. And shin hasn't had prep time like before to out strategy kira. Kira has no official training, no drive to be a fighter, and needs his plot heavy Mary Sue Gundams to win. At the end of the series atheun one shots shin with one move in destiny vs infinite justice. We never see kira be forced to fight with weaker suits and still hold his own.

But Kira was out-strategized by Rey, not Shinn; Rey’s plan and Shinn’s piloting skills beat Kira. Although Kira was trying to fight, protect the Archangel, and run away all at the same time. If Kira could fight back properly, I’m sure he would take out the launch deck for the Impulse on the Minerva once he saw Shinn repair his armour on the fly. One last point I’ll make is that Shinn replenished his gear as soon as one part of it was destroyed, even ramming the chest unit into the Freedom and then detonating it. BTW, I agree that it was a very well deserved victory and it’s my favourite 1v1 Gundam fight in the franchise, I’m just saying that the fight wasn’t exactly fair XD
Shin had the advantage in the Impulse. Pretty sure it was built for the inevitable return of Kira. Even if Destiny is more powerful than Impulse, it can’t counters Kira’s fighting style anymore. So Kira’s skill overwhelmed Shinn.
Shin had the advantage in the Impulse because he was fighting a version of Kira who does not kill. If Kira decides to kill, it's a whole new different story. Even if he is not in the Freedom nor the Strike Freedom, a Kira who kills is on a level of its own.
Shin also figured out Kira’s moves and the Freedom was a previous generation Gundam. It would’ve eventually been outclassed by a new model. Plus the Impulse had the spare parts to be able to overwhelm targets as long as the Minerva was in close proximity. Had it been a battle with no support from the Minerva then Kira would’ve walked away with the W. Regardless it was an awesome sequence.
i said it and i will say it once again, kira is leagues better than shinn! the only reason why shinn won the battle between freedom and impulse was because bandai wanted to bring out strike freedom and sell it like hotcakes.
Well. The plot justified this. Shinn won because he analysed his enemy tactics and use all his possibilities to counter him. Kira never shot the cockpit so Shinn can just go in a lot of allout attack without being worried (like when he throw the Chest at Freedom and shoot it), because Kira never tried to shoot the Core Splendor. If Kira decided to go for the kill he could have won the battle. But he stayed in his ideology to never kill the pilot and that why Shinn won.

They can just make destiny gundam to have chest cannon, waist guns and big boomerang/spear/rod like strike freedom gundam or the shield itself can be replace with strike freedom rod and making the shield as boomerang. So it will be almost equal in strength as strike freedom gundam.

It's clear that Kira is better than Shinn. Kira could have killed Shinn if he wanted to. Shinn took that as an insult. Shinn is too angry and selfish to see that. Even when SHinn was at his full power the final battle Kira just kicked him aside. Shinn lost the war and failed to kill Kira and Athrun. This is what he gets for blaming the wrong people.

Shinn kept trying to use finishing moves to shoot down Strike Freedom, but Kira kept dodging all the attacks. Shinn didn't want to fight slowly and wanted to finish off Kira fast. So Shinn kept overusing the Wings of Light and it drained the suit's power reserves. 3. This Destiny Gundam was a test unit. The Engineers were still collecting data and making adjustments after every battle. Durandal intended to mass produce the Destiny Gundam in limited amounts and give them to Ace pilots like Heine.
His reckless fighting style was caused unit running out energy faster than it's can recharging 😂 It's same reckless act as Anakin do when obi wan say DON'T TRY

Destiny was really a downgrade compare to Impulse. The only thing that makes Destiny superior than Impulse was it's speed while in Burst Mode, which in turn drained a lot of energy, other things like beam gun, beam saber, beam boomerang, Impulse had it all, or even better. Impulse can even separate itself while fighting or reassemble broken parts, which was key thing so it can defeat the Freedom. Destiny lost all of those features, just to trade with a high speed performance, which in turn never had any advantage against the Freedom, much less the Strike Freedom. If at the Freedom VS Impulse battle, Shin used the Destiny, he would probably lost that fight.
@@lammatt that may be, but as I was explaining the Destiny's functions to my little brother, I just realised the reason as to why the Destiny was so bad compare to the other 3 at the moment (Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice and Legend). You see, the whole reason for the Destiny's existance was a machine to match the Destiny booster that the Impulse was not able to withstand, so they made a machine with power so "great" that it can withstand the Destiny booster for a short time, but then they did not have the time to develop a system and weapons that would suit that machine perfectly like the other 3. In order for the Destiny to use it's full power, Shin had to use it in "Burst" Mode, which drained the machine a lot more than the other 3. Any of the other 3 would easily defeat the Destiny if they fight 1 vs 1, counting the Legend. For the weapons, the machine's developer just threw a bunch of existed weapons to it, each with a few flaws that would cost the destiny's battle, especially the anti-ship sword. The Impulse had many functions that helped it fight against the Freedom, but the Destiny lost them all, so when Destiny vs the Strike Freedom, the Destiny was defeated so easily (a bit harder when they fought on Earth, when in space, the Destiny had no chance). So yeah, the two things the Destiny was better than the Impulse was the power system and the wing (which also had a lot of issues).
Setsuna ironically is melee with long range sword like the dude cut a space weapon in half by shooting it but its also technically a sword so he manage to swing it even after missing or missing the target on purpose.

1:50 rewatch this scene, kira should die if that destiny was completed. Strike freedom chest cannon was same as abyss' chest cannon while destiny's was developed from. Shinn's destiny consumed too much energy even new engine cant keep up the consumption, resulted in reducing fire power. Ps. If Kira did to Shinn what he made to Rey, but saving the Destiny and taking him to the Archangel for medical aid, and there Shinn could make peace with his past, put his hatred behind him, and fight alongside Athrun and Kira to put an end to Durandal's plan. It's clear that Kira is better than Shinn. Kira could have killed Shinn if he wanted to. Shinn took that as an insult. Shinn is too angry and selfish to see that. Even when SHinn was at his full power the final battle Kira just kicked him aside. Shinn lost the war and failed to kill Kira and Athrun. This is what he gets for blaming the wrong people.

@@jesterknight3837 The mission was supposed to find and kill Djibril, but Shinn was too selfish and stupid. Shinn wanted to destroy Orb and get his stupid revenge on the Freedom than the mission. Shinn completely ignored the mission and lead so many innocent lives to die by Djibril.
Shinn's first mission as a FAITH member was a failure.

本来ハイパーデュートリオンの構造は核とデュートリオンが相互しあってエネルギー切れを起こさないそうだが核エンジンの故障が起こった事で核エンジンによるデュートリオンの充電ができなくなったのかと思ってる(車で例えるとエンジンからバッテリーへの充電が上手く働かなくなった的な)。
もしデュートリオンがエネルギー切れになったら核エンジンは動いてるから機体が機能停止するわけじゃないが、ファーストステージ同様、核エネルギーのみの機体になって、それ+セカンドステージの新技術がエネルギー切れしないだけになって、本来のサードステージのアドバンテージが生かせずパワーダウンする概念かなと。

1. When Kira shot the railguns that close, it partially damaged the nuclear reactor inside Destiny.
2. Shinn was pushing Destiny too hard over an extended period of time during the battle. Apparently one databook says that the Strike Freedom VS Destiny battle lasted for a while. Shinn kept trying to use finishing moves to shoot down Strike Freedom, but Kira kept dodging all the attacks. Shinn didn't want to fight slowly and wanted to finish off Kira fast. So Shinn kept overusing the Wings of Light and it drained the suit's power reserves.
3. This Destiny Gundam was a test unit. The Engineers were still collecting data and making adjustments after every battle. Durandal intended to mass produce the Destiny Gundam in limited amounts and give them to Ace pilots like Heine.
His reckless fighting style was caused unit running out energy faster than it's can recharging 😂

funny thing is, kira at this point doesn't even know shinn was the impulse pilot that defeated him with the assist of entire fleet gunning down archangel.
if shinn can't beat kira in 1v2 situation with rey and with all the extra non usable funnels of SF in earth gravity.. shinn don't stand a chance in space anddd shinn never stood a chance ever since.
Destiny was really a downgrade compare to Impulse. The only thing that makes Destiny superior than Impulse was it's speed while in Burst Mode, which in turn drained a lot of energy, other things like beam gun, beam saber, beam boomerang, Impulse had it all, or even better. Impulse can even separate itself while fighting or reassemble broken parts, which was key thing so it can defeat the Freedom. Destiny lost all of those features, just to trade with a high speed performance, which in turn never had any advantage against the Freedom, much less the Strike Freedom. If at the Freedom VS Impulse battle, Shin used the Destiny, he would probably lost that fight.

@@lammatt that may be, but as I was explaining the Destiny's functions to my little brother, I just realised the reason as to why the Destiny was so bad compare to the other 3 at the moment (Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice and Legend). You see, the whole reason for the Destiny's existance was a machine to match the Destiny booster that the Impulse was not able to withstand, so they made a machine with power so "great" that it can withstand the Destiny booster for a short time, but then they did not have the time to develop a system and weapons that would suit that machine perfectly like the other 3. In order for the Destiny to use it's full power, Shin had to use it in "Burst" Mode, which drained the machine a lot more than the other 3. Any of the other 3 would easily defeat the Destiny if they fight 1 vs 1, counting the Legend. For the weapons, the machine's developer just threw a bunch of existed weapons to it, each with a few flaws that would cost the destiny's battle, especially the anti-ship sword. The Impulse had many functions that helped it fight against the Freedom, but the Destiny lost them all, so when Destiny vs the Strike Freedom, the Destiny was defeated so easily (a bit harder when they fought on Earth, when in space, the Destiny had no chance). So yeah, the two things the Destiny was better than the Impulse was the power system and the wing (which also had a lot of issues).

Setsuna - close range combat
Setsuna ironically is melee with long range sword like the dude cut a space weapon in half by shooting it but its also technically a sword so he manage to swing it even after missing or missing the target on purpose.
@@scarletrose8766 well to be honest the 00 gundam wasnt really meant for long range battles even with the current weapons it had but even the the 0 raiser it stabalized it to allow trans am and even more gn particle destribution but I doubt the 00 gundam was even made with long range combat in mind which is why he missed and then again he was barely passed the atmosphere

Strike freedom chest cannon was same as abyss' chest cannon while destiny's was developed from. Shinn's destiny consumed too much energy even new engine cant keep up the consumption, resulted in reducing fire power.

Honestly this episode ruined Shin for me they could started his redemption ark here with Kira disabling the destiny gundam and Shin realizing he is becoming everything he hates.
Totally agree with you here, mate! If Kira did to Shinn what he made to Rey, but saving the Destiny and taking him to the Archangel for medical aid, and there Shinn could make peace with his past, put his hatred behind him, and fight alongside Athrun and Kira to put an end to Durandal's plan. It would have been epic! Edit: maybe even Cagalli could be the one helping him, by showing that he was not the only one who had lost loved ones on the Alliance vs Orb war.

Depends even kira had some actual kill count relatively small kill count but they do exist.... He killed Nicole by Accident cause he was already midway to swinging the sword and nicole got in the way to protect the Aegis ...... Killed the Char of the seed universe lol i dont wanna butcher his actual name anyways technically killed durandal, rey and the minerva pilot when they destroyed durandals weapon ..... I think all 3 died on the same place as family lol. Oh right forgot he killed stella too.
