I HAVE BEEN TEACHING A RENAISSANCE HISTORY BLOCK AND ONE OF MY STUDENTS CHOSE THIS TO GO ALONG WITH MY TRIP TO ITALY AND NORTHERN EUROPE SLIDESHOW. WE LOVE IT!
I discovered Celtic music first 2 years ago when I stumbled upon Battle for Camelot. It was like I was searching for it my whole life and I didn't know about it. Thank you Tartalo music for making the world a better place one bagpipe a time 😂
I found this while searching for some celtic song(s) to go with a potential D&D fight in a campaign I'm a player in. I'm loving what I'm hearing so far from the first song, and now I'd like to pose a question for you. What songs of yours would you recommend for a battle against an Archfey, and in what order would you have them play?

Usually when people who haven't grown up surrounded by music from the Celtic nations try to write orchestral music inspired by Celtic music, they don't get the actual Celtic flare in there. For the most part, I think you have done a pretty great job of combining epic cinematic orchestral music and Celtic music. I have noticed that some other influences creep in from time to time, but that's fine. It makes it more interesting because it is a pleasant surprise due to it not being an extremely common occurrence as it occasionally happens. I even noticed that, in Land of the Brave I believe it is, what sounds like a banjo is playing what seems to a variation of the B part of the Scottish tune The Atholl Highlanders. I have always heard it as a march before, so it was interesting to hear it played as an Irish jig on what sounds like an African instrument as it was unexpected. I specify that it was played as an Irish jig because the Irish style of playing jigs is very different from the Scottish style. It would be nice to hear some more Scottish inspired stuff. Unfortunately, most people only think of Irish music when they think of Celtic music, but the Scots, Breton, Welsh, Manx, and Cornish all have their own music as well. Each country has their own style, and some countries have types of tunes that are exclusively from their country. For example, Scottish music has a type of tune called a Strathspey. When the Irish play Strathspeys without any proper training in the Scottish style, they don't come out right, so the Irish attempt at playing or even composing a strathspey earned itself a name: a highland. I wasn't sure if you knew this or not, so I thought I would share this information. If you would like, I could provide you with information, contacts to experts, and examples of Scottish music. It could provide you with more inspiration and information to help you compose more music.
But, seriously, you have done a great job capturing the Celtic spirit in these works of epic music. This is the kind of stuff I look forward to when I see "epic" and "Celtic" used side by side to describe music, and I was not let down. You, Sir, are a fantastic composer, and I cannot wait to hear your future works.
By the way, I also noticed your use of Bulling Bracken a.k.a. the Fairy's Love Song in Beltaine - Guardian of the Woods. It was a very nice and interesting variation. There were a number of other tunes that I noticed you used as well, but I can't remember their names at the moment. You did a very nice job incorporating the tunes in your music.
Hi +Catherine McClain, First of all, thanks a lot for your words! I know what you mean when you say some people don't get the "actual celtic flare" in their pieces. I've been listening to celtic music (Irish, scottish, breton etc.) since I was a child thanks to my father and I'm now a whistle and bodhran player, so I know a bit about how to compose in this style, even though it seems you know much more than I ;) Thanks for all the information you gave me btw. Regarding to the similarity of some my tracks to some celtic tunes, I have to say that sometimes it is done by purpose like in the following videos: - ruclips.net/video/LaP2jFleVwA/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/c1d10zzbumI/видео.html You will notice that it is mentioned in the description of the video. In other cases it just happens because of coincidence. I mean, it is not something that I was looking for, like in the case of "The land of the Brave" and "Beltaine". It sometimes happens because I unconciously get inspiration from other songs, I guess. The Atholl Highlanders, is a song that I've listened to before but never realized that a part of "The land of the Brave" sounded so similar untill you told me. In the case of "The Fairy's Love song" I didn't even know the tune, and honestly, I dont think they sound similar at all. I really esteem your offer for helping me with information, but I think it wouldn't be very helpful to me as I'm not a composer that makes a lot of musical plannings on the music. I just usually take the whisle or piano and compose the melodies that I feel and then develop that idea in to a full song. As I say, without any previous in depth planning. Thanks once again, and enjoy the music!
As always, your music kind of connects me with what feels like a long forgotten past - a romantic might say that it leads to the origin of ones soul... but I am just a physics-student in need of some distraction besides quantumchromodynamics - so, no romantics here ^^

Hi +Catherine McClain,
First of all, thanks a lot for your words!
Regarding to the similarity of some my tracks to some celtic tunes, I have to say that sometimes it is done by purpose like in the following videos:
- ruclips.net/video/LaP2jFleVwA/видео.html
- ruclips.net/video/c1d10zzbumI/видео.html
You will notice that it is mentioned in the description of the video.
There is celtic music outside of The UK and Ireland. North Spain, has its own celtic music. From Galicia to the Basque region. .
