    Nice short definition. Effectively broke down concepts, and helped me really understand just how big "big data" is referring to!

    I did not even know that quintillion is a word! A very helpful and interesting post, I wonder how Big Data will one day be able to tell us the trends in genetic mutations so that we will be able to stop them in time.

    soooo.....basically we have a large dataset and then we datamine it??? - why did that need a new word?

    • @DutchmanDavid
      @DutchmanDavid 6 лет назад

      To signify the extreme size of the data. Sure, you can have a few TB of data and you can analyze it, but Big Data signifies it's _so_ much data, you can't analyze it on even a super fast PC, because the data is generated faster then it can be analyzed by a single machine.
      That's the gist of it, IMO.

    Animations are joyful and pleasing to the eye, but there are no citations and nothing backing up either of the statements. "Oh, we do this, we do that" - who does? I've never heard anyone do that in real life! "This is called Big Data" - by who? why specifically 'Big Data' and not 'Mega Data'? who took the liberty of naming lots of information that way! "Right now there's work going on to make cars completely accident free" - says who? how do they do that? are they driverless cars?, because that's not the same as accident free!
    In other words I disliked the video because it didn't teach me anything and it was in no way entertaining or educational.
